Scarab Sages

Only in a f%**ing Disney world do people actually listen when young children make absolutely stupid suggestions.

Oookay.....that's a little awkward.

Maybe one more cup of coffee, then it's time to get busy!

Scarab Sages

My parents drive in yesterday. They're staying with my older brother, but we should see them sometime today. Wondering how my father will react to all the grand kids. His memory problems have gotten a lot worse.

Scarab Sages

But, at least they get to be here for Katie's birth. Last time, with Charlie, our house in Philky wasn't big enough to hold too many guests, so the grandparents took turns visiting. Since he was my in-laws first grand child, my parents let them be here for the birth, and they came up afterwards.

Scarab Sages

Even still, none of them will be at the hospital for the birth. The way it works with the c-section, Sarah and I will go in early, they do the c-section, I take the baby with me to the recovery room and we wait there for the doctors to finish with Sarah. Then we get reunited, and afterward other folks are allowed to visit. It'll be close to lunchtime before they get to see her.

Scarab Sages

And we're sending Charlie to Mother's Day Out (his sort of daycare), so he won't see her until she's a few hours old.

One thing I love - no bottles to clean! The wife does the whole boob juice thing. Should be a lot easier this second time around.

Scarab Sages

Nothing to give out this year. I forgot.

When Charlie was born, I had prepared a batch of mead and gave out bottles of that to friends.

Scarab Sages

Oh well. That's enough from me for now. Gotta get to doing stuff. Later folks! Have great day!

Happy Saturday!

My daughter is taking her SAT today. She's been kinda stressed about it all week, so I hope it goes well for her.

Ah the SAT. I don't know what it is about my brain's structure but I am a complete whiz at taking tests, where actual coursework is a pain. I took the SATs cold, no prepping and got a 700 in verbal and a 640 in math. I could never figure out how I pulled that off.

Daughter Of The Badger sounds like a comic book title.

I wonder if we could get Grzegorz Rosiński to draw it?

Script should be done be some French or Belgian comic writer.

So many papers....so little time. Finals week sucks. But at least it means this particular term is almost over. :)

Funnily, I was reading a Thorgal-story this afternoon.

Which one?

I still remember when I got my first Thorgal issue. It was Child Of The Stars (#7)... Incidentally I looked a bit like young Thorgal when I was a kid.

Maybe Sergio Aragones?

Le Sacrifice.

They've been running the series in the Swedish The Phantom magazine since the mid-90's - starting with La Magicienne Trahie (the one beginning with Thorgal being chained to a rock by Aaricia's father so that he will drown when the tide comes in).

I think that The Sacrifice was the last issue I have read.

Good evening FAWTLY FOLK! I hope everyone had good day.

We had a decent one. I cut my hair, hung up and/or folder baby girl clothes, moved some stuff out of the guest room, picked up some stuff from Walgreens, and went to the cleaners.

My parents came over - spent some time at our house but then went back over to my younger brother's for lunch (Popeyes). Charlie got to spend some time with his cousins and my brother and I got to watch a bit of football (Oklahoma vs Oklahoma State, good game).

Got the tree decorated. For the most part. Might put a few more ornaments on it. Still have to get a star. Might do that tomorrow. Everywhere I've found them I didn't like them, so I think I'll try Hobby Lobby. I hear they have good stuff.

And I got to eat leftover cold Popeyes for dinner. How awesome is that?

Hopefully, they'll still be looking for one next year around this time. :)

And apparently we had a three wise men, baby Jesus, Mary, and Joseph statue. Not sure where it came from.

I also got the Humble Bumble out. I shall use him to annoy my wife.

Scarab Sages

He bounces.
