I miss read this as "jeans rarely seem out of place in *combat*" which brought to mind thoughts of valeros doing Calvin Klein commercials and seoni doing topless poses in jordache jeans.

Good lord, it's going to be road trip week for me.

If anyone had any doubts about repeated blows to the head being bad for you, read a transcript of the not-Muhammed Ali boxer of your choice's pre-match thrash-talk.

Why bother with the interview? They should hire you on the spot!

Still don't have a fridge. The debate is whether or not to get a really nice one while we're in the rental, or stick with something relatively cheap and get a nice one when we finally buy a house. Not sure which I'll do yet. The wife wants something that dispenses water, I which case I might as well just buy a fancy one. However, when we do to to buy, and if we get a brand new home, it might come with a fridge. So, dilemma. And one that has to be solved soon.

When I was looking about 2 years ago, they generally didn't have fridges. ::shrug:: YMMV.

worse comes to worst if it does have a fridge - extra fridge in the garage, or garage sale.

:D

Wooohooo!

Wait a minute... *starts counting weeks since marriage*

the pregnancy weeks are counted from the last "that time of the month"

the, uhm, critical hit, must have been right after the honeymoon,
we had discontinued the pill one month before marriage

Zombie, let me know if you need anything. And you and yours are still invited to the BBQ on Saturday. Though I'll understand if you're a bit busy! ;)

Taxi over-heated, fair book killed in its youth. Maybe able to salvage the day yet.

Took a walk with my dad and did one more job application.

One more day at the current job! Then it's off to Santa Fe to visit my oldest son, and start the new job on the 10th.

I failed the entry exam to University by one point.

However, I'm not giving up just yet. There is still hope.

A few years ago I failed to enter to Religious Studies - two more people were on list before me... And the next year I learned from a friend that was six places higher that lots of people resigned after first year. Gah! They didn't thought that they will have to read actual books during the studies! *sigh*

Next year the entry rules changed when the high school final exam ("matura") rules changed making mine high school diploma practically obsolete with point worth of 0...

Sucks to hear about that. And what I meant with my last lines is that if someone drops out before entering University, I might be able to take their spot.

I know that feeling. One of the things I have been dealing with was neither my wife nor I making it into grad school.

Rest assured, such abuse of the arts for nefarious purposes will not go without retribution.

I'm getting a tutor! Honestly, we can't all be instant prodigies with everything we touch.

Considering I'd never held a fiddle before, I think it went remarkably well.

I was second on the list of people who did not get in when the list was finalized on September, after all who resigned/failed to comply with registration process dropped out. The friend I mentioned was six places above me so she got in the way you mention.

Good luck, hopefully those who applied there as their second/reserve choice resign or get where they wanted to get in the first place and make room for you.

Oh, so that's what you meant by that list. I'm sorry, I misunderstood. And yeah, all I can do now is call them, ask, and hope.

And that's enough foruming for me this morning. I'm out 'til lunch. Later FAWTLfolk.

So, when I went to this small town New Jersey client last, it took me 3.5 hours to drive because of obscene traffic. I left myself a lot of time today and (what do you know) I get here in under 90 minutes. Hooray for being 2 hours early! [/sarcasm]

Cherry on top-just got rejected for a job via email I applied for months ago. This is a bummer, but not the end of days. I know how hard it can be to find work.
