Anyone skilled in psychology want to explain my mood swings as of late?
I've been diagnosed with some undefined anxiety issues and depression, if that info helps.
Not an expert, and you should definitely address these concerns with a professional. That said, I think you just gave the answer. It's a common misconception to think that depression is about sadness. It often comes with irritability and mood swings.
ug. My house got borken into (again) yesterday and I think I am getting bronchitis and a sinus infection again. OTOH, no one was hurt, the jerks did not get much, the busted door is boarded up, and I can withdraw some money from my 401k to pay for the damages. Sadly, both the insurance company and the 401k people say that an X-box 360 is NOT essential to life and I will have to spend my own money to replace it. i.e. - Everything fell just under the $1000 deductable. Obviously they are not gamers. ~grins~
From the film, weren't they an all powerful decadent race, who had lost all of their tech knowledge apart from Gummi-berry juice. And in it the found some of their lost civilisation.
I don't recall hints of them being decadent. As far as I remember (up to third season, later seasons might have explained more) they were ancient race that was generally pushed out of their lands by encroaching humans (but they lived next to each other as friendly neighbors for some time, until humans expanded too much). There were some enclaves of remaining gummi bears left behind, guarding old constructions, abandoned cities, etc. The main characters lost access to the remaining technology and magic because their ancestors lost the amulet that opened the great book containing gummi bear lore (magic, history, notes about remaining artifacts workings and location).
Ability Scores +2 Dex, +2 Wis, -2 Str. Gummi bears are agile and enlightened but they lack physical strength.
Type Small Humanoid (ursine)
Base Speed 20 feet.
Ancient Lore Gummi bears gain +2 racial bonus to Disable Device, Knowledge [engineering], Knowledge [arcana] and Use Magic Device checks.
Bouncy Gummi bear that drinks gummi-berry juice gains +4 dodge bonus to AC, +20 bonus to Acrobatics checks made to jump, treats all jumps as if possessing running starts, ignores maximum speed limits on jump's length or height and suffers no damage from falling. Effects of gummi-berry juice last for 1 minute.
Evasive Gummi bears gain +2 bonus to initiative checks and +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity.
No, no, the next important date is 11/27, when the next Dresden Files book is published.
::waits impatiently by mailbox::
Barnes & Noble will be calling me when it comes in =)
I have decided that I shall re-read the entire series, (including Side Jobs) before the new release. I have been averaging one book every two days. I started book 6 this morning. If I maintain that average time for each book, I should be done a few days before the release. :)
And I must say, re-reading them all back-to-back has been extremely enjoyable and informative. They just make SO much more sense when you read them all in a row fast enough to not forget the little details from previous books! :D

I finished my read-through about a month and a half ago. I've been filling the gap with Discworld and Vorkosigan.

LOL.. Murphy the Halfling hardhead?
Marconi the kobold crime boss?
That's OK, I have some fun to run Justin through once I digest the feel og the books....
I created Gwyn for our upcoming CoT game deliberately as a chance to play Harry. Went Words of Power, even got a "familiar" - a spirit living in a coin - to be her "Bob". Higher STR and CON, decent WIS, lower INT than usual for a caster, to play up a lack of formal education and street-smarts replacing it, and reliance on Bob (Tlavyn in Gwyn's case) to fill in the knowledge gaps she doesn't have the INT or the skill points for. High Sense Motive and Intimidate... no Bluff or Diplomacy at all.
By mostly coincidence we ended up with a dreadfully-low-CON Vivisectionist, a high-CHA Rake Rogue, and an Aasimar Paladin as her partymates.
So basically the party is Fem-Harry, Butters, Thomas, and Murphy. I believe you'll meet Thomas in book 3, and Butters around 5 or 6.

I've got a pretty decent evil laugh myself. I don't use it when playing my Witch though, since mine's female and my evil laugh goes to the closest I can get to bass range.
I just grin. Loud laughter is not my style. At least not until that old players of mine assemble and leave me lying on ground suffocating on my own laughter with their antics.
