A strange post for nudity.

On a positive note, I saw Snow White and the Huntsman yesterday. It was entertaining, but a little linear and predictable. I liked the way it subverted the passive heroine trope. And the effects were good.

That person is not okay from what I understand. Killed instantly from what I have heard. The train is partially on top of their car. I hope FAWTLies are careful and stop when the rr crossing arms are down. You cannot beat a train.

As for hubby, we are going through some tough stuff right now. I am foreseeing a single life for the first time in ten years.

I am sorry to hear that CH. But the train issue and about your Hubby. I hope the two of you can work things out, but if not... Don't forget that you have friends here.

Moorluck, BluePigeon, I'm sorry you're both having a tough time. My condolences to both of you. (And to anyone else I missed in my quick skim through posts from the weekend.)

Have you ever received a steam burn or been scalded? It's like that, sorta.

I bet FreeholdDM does, but he'll insist on applying it himself. He does a good job, if you can ignore the creepy giggling he does. Not that I would know about that....

Hey, I haven't done the creepy giggle in... At least 45 minutes!

washes hands, trims nails, gets aloe vera gel ready, giggles creepily

Sorry to hear about the tough luck CH.

For me, it's mostly a feeling of being overheated, until something actually touches the sunburned area, and then it feels like someone is scraping a cheese grater across my skin. That lasts for a day or two, then the damaged skin starts sloughing off revealing extra-sensitive new skin underneath. It takes another couple of days to get to a point where there's no discomfort.

I found William whats-his-title completely superfluous and Chris Hemsworth is just a flexiprop. No acting, just improves the scenery. Other than that and some odd camera choices, it was a good time filler.

Hahaha. I am never getting to work. The bus driver totally forgot my stop, and I am not about to make a bus full of angry Long Islanders trying to get to the city turn around just for me. (I'm the only one who needed that little local stop.) This is almost comical.

I'm not familiar with your bus system, do they not have the little bell buttons/pull ropes that you use to signal "hey I want off at the next stop"? The ones in Phoenix did, so if there was no one at the stop and you didn't push your buzzer the driver wouldn't need to stop, though this didn't stop all the misses when the buzzer didn't ring for some reason or the driver didn't hear it/ignored it.

Train accidents are proof that people don't understand the difference between velocity and momentum.

It's not one of those buses. These are big coaches contracted by the railroad to get people where they're going while the trains are out.

Worry not, Treppa, I am actually quite good at absorbing electricity. Just wrap me around you pre shower and you'll be fine!

On a more serious note, I have heard of this, but I always thought of it as an urban legend.

I'm not chancing it. I also won't talk on wired telephones. A zap through the ears might just wake my brain up. That's far too dangerous to risk.

Coffee was so good. I brought some beans back with me from Toronto when we went last month. We were only there two days and I went to Second Cup four times and just had to buy a couple pounds of coffee beans. Finally opened the first bag this morning and yummm. Not burnt coffee! ^.^

It is going quite well from my perspective, already 2 real classic match pairings have taken place:

Germany - Portugal - we won, hence going well
Italy - Spain - a draw, Italy was surprising good and Spain surprisingly not that good ( they are currently World and European Champion)

in 50 minutes it is France vs England

on wedensday we will have another big classic: Germany vs Holland

surprisingly Holland has lost it's first match to Denmark, Ireland lost to Croatia

tonight Kajhase's Swedes will have their first match against Ukraine

we have a Euro Thread in the Off topics where mostl Kajehase and me talk about the tournament

It looks like I will be at least 2 1/2 hours late for work. Maybe 3.

going quite well

we have hotels in NY (WellingtoHotel near Carnegy Hall) Seatlle (of course) San Francisco and Forks. The days on the road we will have to take what we find because the route may change
true to the cliche about germans I have resaerched several routes and planes we could drive, I have a plan a backup plan and a plan C just in case :-)
