OK, the question of maps and flip mats was brought up elsewhere and answered as far as it went. However, when submitting scenarios, do you prefer original map artwork? and if so what level of artwork do you require? or do you prefer we use existing flip mats?

I do plan on eventually writing scenarios after I get a year of Gm'ing PFS scenarios under my belt. So as I start noting ideas in my journal, I would like to know how to prepare maps for the encounters I write.

Also, I would inquire as to whether we are free to write scenarios taking pathfinders out of the inner sea area,to exotic areas such as The Crown of the World and Tian Xia? or do you prefer we keep the PFS scenarios close to home?

You shouldn't need to worry about maps to write a 750 word proposal. As for venturing into other parts of the world, it's not something I'd rule out once we've developed a part of the world, but PFS scenarios are not the place to establish new, undeveloped locations. So for now, that means the Inner Sea is the playground. After Jade Regent, we'll see.

thank you. I will focus on established canon then. i had guessed as much. but wanted to make sure. as to the maps. I guess they come after the proposal. My brain just works backwards in writing. I start with settings and history, then add characters, then plots.

After reading this, I am thinking you want plot and characters first then we will worry about setting and history/background plus other details that are not as intrinsic to the plot line.

thank you.
