So, it isn't clear in the Ninja playtest, and it isn't (currently) covered by the Additional Resources web page, so, which poisons are legal for Ninjas to buy & use?
Is it the same list that Josh made for the Alchemist?
Alchemists, because of their Poison Use (Ex) class ability, are allowed to purchase and use poisons. For now, they are the only class that has a list of "always available poisons" as noted below—no other class may purchase poisons unless they appear on a chronicle sheet. Alchemists are limited to the following poisons from the Core Rulebook:
Quote:
*Giant wasp poison
*Large scorpion venom
*Medium spider venom
*Shadow essence
*Small centipede poison

*Wonders how many pages that list is, and wonders if any of the items on the list involve torturing Kyle in some way...*

Of course it really doesn't need to be added until August. Only Jason knows if that ability will be around in the final version, and even if it is, you could always decide to just make that ability not legal for play.
D-Moon, his list is approximately three times as long as the OP Guide, and fortunately none of them involve torturing me. Yet.

what are the rules on reverse archetyping? specifically around poison?
if i have a player that is playing a ninja and would like to exchange poison for trap finding, is that legal?
he is asking to basically do the opposite of the poisoner archetype
Poison Use (Ex)
At 1st level, a poisoner is trained in the use of poison and cannot accidentally poison herself when applying poison to a blade.
This ability replaces trapfinding.

You have to apply archetypes before any class features are swapped out. If a archetype swaps out a level 3 class feature you have to take the archetype at level 1 or 2. If you play at level 3 it is too late to take the archetype.
Any archetypes that alter level 1 class features has to be taken at level 1.

The forum has been giving me problems the last little while, so maybe you didn't notice that two people, including me, have answered your question. There's no need to be rude just because one person, who was going out of their way to try to be helpful, misunderstood what you were asking.
In case you missed it, the answer is no.

thank you for providing me the whens and hows of applying an archetype.
im sure this would be brilliantly valuable information if it was relative to my question.
He really did answer your question. But simply put yoke's cannot pick and choose which features you have from an at just because one is less useful to you.
If he wants trap finding he needs to mukticlass to a non rogue class with it.

There was an inhaled poison available as an auction prize this GenCon.
Should I assume that no inhalable poisons will be forthcoming for any ninja with poison smoke bombs?
grrrr, I got so caught up in the game I was GMing I forgot to update my Bid, I really wanted those poison access.
