A Broken Combination - Fighter + Growth Subdomain

The Exchange 4/5

So at the risk of upsetting some of my fellow local players, I want to bring up a combination that I think is breaking the game, especially for PFS players. A growing number of folks have figured out that it is wise as a Fighter, to also take a level in Inquisitor. The reason is this: they get access to a domain of a god they worship. They end up taking some god that has the plant domain so they can get the Growth Subdomain. It's replacement power states:

APG, page 91 wrote:

The following granted power replaces the wooden fist power of the Plant domain.

Enlarge (Su): As a swift action you can enlarge yourself as if you were the target of the enlarge person spell. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

The reason I bring this up is because the ability takes a swift action and you can do it 3 + your Wisdom modifier times per day. Essentially, a fighter with a +1 Wisdom will be able to do this for 4 times a day, each time lasting 1 minute. This practically covers the average number of encounters that happen in a single PFS session.

I think it would be best if this action were made to take a standard action (or hell even a full-round action), just so it would be on par with drinking a potion. As it stands now, a swift action just makes this a bit too broken. Especially at lower levels where your main damage dealer is from your fighter. This way, the fights may last 1 or 2 rounds longer.

PS. I wonder how many people will now build Fighter ? / Inquisitor 1 character.

They Already added an Errata for this.

It has changed to this..

APG Errata wrote:
Page 91—In the Growth Subdomain, in the Enlarge replacement power, in the first sentence, change “enlarge yourself, as if ” to “enlarge yourself for 1 round, as if.”

So now it only lasts 1 round.

Edit: I am a NINJA!!!

Greetings--

Kindly refer your players to the APG errata wherein the power was changed to one round per activation.

Still strong, but not broken. There are worse and more annoying things out there than this.

EDIT: Damn ninjas. Those should be banned!!

Thank the both of you kindly! I will definitely notify my fellow players of this change. :D

Oh please Pain, tell us, so we can all go out and build an optimized fighter/monk/cleric/sorcerer/oracle/bard/inquisitor/death knight/assassin/arch mage/world slayer (with fangs) that can't be hit and becomes a god in six rounds ;-)

I would make a list of "Overpowered" character builds, but then everyone would steal them from me :(

Ah, but that can be used to your advantage!

You should play a gnome monk with a STR of 6, a DEX of 14, a CON of 18 and 10/12/10 for INT-WIS-CHA. :)

After all, if you play it, it must be Sekritly Ovurpowrfulll!!!1!!

Then, everyone will be copying it.

How is a DC 30 Dominate Person overpowered in Society play? ;-)

Edit: a PERSISTANT DC 30 Dominate Person. :)

I think a Gnome Monk with a 5 STR (1d4-3!), 7 WIS, 20 CON and 20 CHA would be a blast! Everyone should do it!

Feats: Endurance, Diehard, Bodyguard, In Harm's Way, etc.

Sweet! You told me I was going to be in your next post. Going to count this as close enough.
