Fortunately, as mentioned before, Kender are product identity for Dragonlance so will never show up in Golarion.

Also fortunately, Golarion is not now, nor was it ever intended to be, the sum total of Pathfinder.

You mean post-3E halfllings that are blatantly based on kender?

Take away those preconceptions and all you have left is a halfling.

Yeah, since the 3E writeup of halflings started with kender as the base, and added a few elements of Tolkien hobbits.

It's kind of like arguing that if you take away the viking stuff from a Space Wolf, all you have left is a generic Space Marine. No $#!+...that was the base that they worked from.

But you can't argue with hate....

In the dragonlance books with all of his friends how many of the friends items ended up on the kender?

How many items were actually taken?

Rare? Then that would be the way one would be played!

Care to give the numbers and page citations?

How on earth in novels with all those pages could I possibly cite all the instances of kender handling?

I just said it rarely happened, not daily, not weekly, rarely!

I have said this before, and possibly on this thread. I have seen a kender played where he was not annoying... in fact, he was my favorite of the PCs. (And he wasn't my character!)

Oh yes, quite. He channeled his two young daughters' youthful qualities into a very nice kender. And though he occasionally borrowed things, he really gave the impression that it there was no malice in it whatsoever... The focus was on character rather than an excuse to rob fellow PCs blind...

It was more like, "Where did you get that?!?" *shrug* "I don't know." *whittling with the Mayor's knife*

Reread one of the novels and keep a tally with annotations. That's the usual way these things are done. Standard literary analysis.

If you want to back up your contention that it's "rarely!" you can back that up with citations.

That said, since the author didn't likely mention everything that was "handled" during that time span, you can't take a construction like "They traveled for months" to mean that nothing was "handled" during that time.

To put it another way, just because we rarely hear about a character eating or sleeping doesn't mean he doesn't do these things. It's a assumed he does and it's generally not considered important enough to mention. Similarly, people in novels seldom use the bathroom on the page. This does not mean they have terrible constipation or have somehow transcended human biological requirements. It just means it's not important to the story and thus it isn't mentioned.

If you show a character stealing a few things, and also show him with a bag of loot, the assumption will be he stole the rest of the stuff too but it would be too tedious to list all the individual thefts.
