Looking for recruits for PF d20 Pro VTT

Gamer Connection

Hey there, as the post implies I need a few more people to get my game up and running, I already have two staunch players I can count on showing up, so do not post here if your planning ditching the group after a few sessions. I highly encourage only those interested in RP to apply as that will be the primary focus of this campaign and I have a website dedicated to this group specifically for that purpose. I need 2-3 more depending on weather or not a third player counts on showing up. So far the party composition looks like this

Rogue
Fighter
Sorcerer

So its a heavily damage oriented group, and it would be preferable if we had some more diversity to add in the mix. Post if your interested and I'll e-mail you some rules on the character creation and all that fun stuff, but just to cover some basics the group will be going to at least 18 level is set in Golarion and has some very classic dungeon crawl goodies in store. I'll cover the logistics of the game as I said after I get some interest here on the boards =]

I'd be interested depending on the day and time y'all will be meeting. I've messed around a little with d20 pro's trial version but haven't bought the Player's license yet. I'd be willing to play whatever character your group needs to fill out, so a cleric or druid of some kind it looks like at the moment.

Well you would be more than welcome, sadly I think I have only two players licenses open ATM but I would be willing to get another if your planning on roughing through the entire ordeal with the party, hard logistics is a tid-bit difficult but it will be a 85% chance we will be meeting on Fridays but that's a flexible date I'm sure, and we also could use some more all around roles really, so bard, wizard, or even one more combat oriented class is not entirely out of the question. =]

Silver Crusade

What is your background as a DM?

What are the details on the setting?

I havent done d20 pro yet, but have played in other vertual table top enviroments. I prefer to play a divine caster or rogue, so if your ok with that it sounds good.

With a few more details about the campaign I'd be willing to commit to it. Fridays are usually fine for me, depending on the exact times. Can you see my email through my user name or do I need to put it up here?

As a DM? well I'm new to the boards but with face-to-face groups I would say I have 6-7 years of experience, I assure you I'm more than competent if thats in question. As to the setting, like I said just straight Golarion for ease of character creation and whatnot, but thats where the similarities end, I'm going to be running as I mentioned some classic modules so I'm going to play around with some town names and whatnot perhaps put in some plot twists here and there so it feels like golarion and not some cut-n-paste construction-paper art.

D20 pro actually got me back into DMing as Its a tid bit difficult for me to find local groups anymore, its the most straightforward in my opinion and quickest to learn. I have only so many players licenses ATM, but you could give the trial a shot for a month and see if you like the program, and if you like the group and plan to stick out the entire adventure I'll purchase another slot, if you however do like it enough to buy then problem solved =]

between those choices I would prefer you to go as a divine caster, and that would probably prove the most beneficial. But I guess I should also mention the group is starting at 4th level if that changes anything, as our last group kind of fell apart so I'm picking up the spot of DM so they can continue their characters.

Sorry cant see your E-mail

Ok, it's just idilippy at yahoo.com if you want to send me any additional campaign info.

So what country will we be comeing in, in?

I will give it a shot.

Well if we are starting at 4th I guess I could do Wizard as well.

Question, would you allow this class refitted from 3.5 - PF?

Archivist.

Oh and I'd like to play a cleric or bard depending on where in Golarion we are starting and whichever one you'd prefer. Also I still have a good amount of time on my free trial so I could just play on my trial account for a few weeks before you decide if its worth adding another player or however that works.

LostSoul wrote:

Right now it looks like I'm settling on Galt and the river kingdoms region for the first half of the campaign to take place in, with some desert trekking in far off lands for the latter half.

** spoiler omitted **

I would certainly consider it if you gave me some good concept to back it up, I'm a little hesitant with custom classes as I have no Idea how powerful they get, so it could throw off encounter balance and I would have to adjust as you guys go through which is a dreadful handy cap, but by no means absolutely game breaking, I've managed it once before but it was not fun on my end xD So although I might allow it I would much prefer you didn't go that route

I'll also email you some details regarding character creation and etc.

I have played the Archivest before in both 3.5 and pathfinder. It is really nothing more than a Divine Wizard.

Since it is Divine it has a tad bit more Buffs and can heal. While Arcane is more Direct Damage and Debuffs.

Just an idea, look the class over, let me know.

I am thinking of either going MYSTIC THEURGE or a Divine version of ELDRITCH KNIGHT prestiege classes.

Yeah I got the jist of it, like I said I'll most certainly allow it, but my major point in mentioning it was the fact I'm completely unaware as to how it matures but I don't think it will be a major problem so feel free

OK so Level?

Starting GP?

And you said Galt/River Kingdoms? Sounds Great!

Stats are going to be on a 25 point build unless you want to hop on d20 pro and use those dice, or link me the results on an online die roller.

you'll be starting at 4th level, using the appropriate gold allotment in the main rulebook for PC's, I'm not sure if you were planning on a non-standard race but I'll allow anything from the bestiary, including those with racial HD so long as you don't go over 4th for example a 2HD lizardfolk with 2 levels of something or just a straight bugbear (I think they have 4HD)

But do note if you go with one of the non-standards I would like a fairly comprehensive background as to why he's adventuring etc.

Oh and if you come up with an extra special background where your character has demons from the past I can and will work with that, and I'll even throw in a custom feat or bonus if I feel you did a good job fleshing out the background, But I'm not going to award something if you just passively mention it in the Bio it has to be significant to your character. =] I think thats about it, so when you've come up with something PM it to me, link it in the thread, or even just post the statistics up in the thread.

Will do. Expect something this weekend. I have finals on Monday and Tuesday then I am out!

May be a bit please feel free to grab someone else. If you still need me I will post something in the next 3 or 4 days. Finals are killing me.

Finals going on until Thursday for me but after that I'll be done.

Don't worry about it =] I completely understand just get em to me when your able

and for anyone else reading this forum I still could use one more player

Hello, if you are still looking for players I might be interested depending on the details. I have a D20pro players licence and have played in a few games that did not really work out to well. I can play Friday nights and Saturday nights. If you have a spot open let me know my email is my forum name AT hotmail.com

Im would be interested in playin, Im new to the play to post thing, I have played D&D for a long time. I would like to play maybe a summoner, let me know, I thinking of a asian style, with like a samurai monster eidolon? interested?

I can totally relate just finished finals Sat. Thats why I had left my last group, but they went on to $th & I wasnt interested in it.

Yes of course I would be interested in both of your playing, I can use all of the players I can get my hands on xD if the two previous posters find they don't have the time after all then you will be absolutely necessary xD but either way I have room for you both as I have only the 3 characters I previously mentioned and one is an NPC -my character that was apart of our old group that dissolved >.<-, a fourth player I was counting on seems to have changed his mind xD apparently WoW is taking up all of his time, haha.

Anyways Im sure you will find most of the rules already in the post, so feel free to Post concepts, or let me know what your email is and I will send you just a quick little letter so you have access to my email, and the address of the site were using for the game.

Please note that ventrillo will be a requirement for this group as it will be on a VTT d20 pro so having a mic will help if you don't mind talking to other players but not necessary its just so I am better able to DM, and also note that I have only two players licenses which are already taken up so you will have to run a trial for 30 days which is absolutely free, I plan to purchase a few more after the holidays so that should be more than enough time and give me some incentive to justify the $10 a slot xD again this is a Virtual Table Top so its more traditional in that sense.

It looks as though fridays will be the default, time is still undecided.

I would like to also get a piece of this action. I am in Okinawa, Japan and was curious what US time zone you are in? Your Friday evening should be my Saturday morning. I have no problem buying a player slot. I have a couple of character concepts I will post and if excepted, will flesh them out. I post them here in a bit after I get off work, lol.

I'm personally in GMT but most of my players are in PST, so 4PM my time is 3PM theirs, I have really no time restrictions since it will be on weekends for me so I can play till whenever. Like I said I Could use all they payers I can get, so your more than welcome. The campaign itself will take you from 4-20th level so its going to take some time, so if you have no problem with a year or so then this is the group for you =]

Groovy. I'll whip up a couple of concepts for review. Out of curiousity are guns from Alkenstar available in your world? They are mostly a flavor component for a character I have, but a light crossbow will easily fill the role if they are not.

Most certainly, its just standard Golarion, Don't let me hold back a good concept ;)

Hhm, Galt and the River Kingdoms was it?
Will have to read up on that section of the mythos.
Would be willing to play either an Aasimar Oracle of the Heavens or a Gnome Alchemist.
Whichever round out the group better. Have long standing concepts for both.

I recently obtained the Hero Lab program and all the trappings for my own GM duties, and was hoping to move into VTT gaming in the summer with my group.
But alas I know little on how to play such a game.

Before I commit...
I would specifically need to know:
-How many times a month we'd do this
-What days (dunno if this has been asked already)
-What times they would be on GMT (I'm in the UK)

Things like starting cash, approved source materials (Im hoping the open design line of products), adventure hooks, whether magic items are valid to purchase at generation, variant rules and such can wait. But are equally important.

My email address is:
4thDaimond@gmail.com

I am quite an obsessively dedicated player with 6 years experiance. I mostly GM, but not just Pathfinder. Have dipped my toe into PBP gaming before and found that my enthusiasm usually outlasts that of others.

Anyways, colour me interested.

I am building a gnome cavalier. Like the last fellow wondered, are the Open Game Design products fair game? With your approval, I would like to use a couple of feats from their Cavaliers Creed book in the Advanced Feats line. I like small cavaliers due their ability to actually be used under nearly all circumstances and environments. Also,I like the fact that this is more or less a spell-less buffer and feel it will provide a solid addition to most parties.

Aside from this I would like to know if you guys have any input on possible mounts of medium size that seem quirky enough for a gnome cavalier? I will likely go with a riding dog to compliment the characters disgust for goblins and kobolds. But, if your guys can think of something a little more suiting, I will look into it as the rest of the personality develops. I am thinking a sort of Colonel Hardy from the Jungle Book/Prussian Hussar type. I should have his initial write up ready by tomorrow. I am looking forward to this as it has been insanely hard to find a game over here.

Finished the first draft of my Character (Stat block).
Gnome Oracle of the Heavens.

Figure that a deaf, exciteable, floating midget is orginal enough.
Hehe.

I'll work some more on the backstory later and generate a stat block with Hero Lab for the second draft.
Where do I send it?

I am OK with Friday, let me know what time, I live on East coast of US. I like the Golarian setting its like Forgotten Realms meets Eberron. could you post a link to VTT D20 site, I never done it but would like to start since I DM as well. I have a camera & mic combo for Skype is this simlair. [My email is GhoulGator@ymail.com] As you know my 1st concept is a Summoner, looks sort of like Raiden from Mortal Kombat, straw hat, sashes, wears a chest plate, toe boots, hes is a half elf.( Ive seen pics of Asian armor in PFRPG so let know where it fits) For the Eidolan hes kind of like Goro hes got 4 arms and one eye and is suited in samurai armor. My 2nd concept is a urban ranger/smuggler(just occupation) who is a courier(smuggler) whos a red headed halfing whos companion is a flying mount. This is the character I am posting under Kite Windsocks, a very flambount character who doesnt see self a thief or smuggler its just a fun job. So let me know what ya think. thanks

Well lets see, if we were to start 3PM my time(GMT), and your in the UK then it would easily be about 10PM your time =\ and considering I have one player -Blilbo- Who lives in Okinawa that would put almost 12 hours between you two... I could start earlier which would be no problem on this end, but I can almost promise you it might get late on your end, so if you have no problem with that then we as a group can determine what the best time would be to start for all of us =]

I'm planning to do this about Once a week on the designated days, don't worry if you cant make it for one I understand life happens, I myself have commitments that are both unforeseen and unavoidable but if something does pop up a little heads up would be nice so we can postpone or reschedule =]

As for days, it looks right now to be Fridays or Saturdays.

As for content, so long as its Golarion I can take it hands down, one player was contemplating a fan created class and I'm going to allow it if he is still interested in playing. I'm very liberal as a GM, so long as you have sufficient story to make it work and keep me, yourself, and the other players interested then I won't get in the way of that, just run it by me first if you think it might be unbalancing or something really out of place -like mecha xD-

For starters, all players will be 4th level so use the appropriate wealth table in the main rules for hero's, I don't restrict what you can purchase so long as you make some reference to it in your background and obviously don't go over the GP limit =]

As for adventure hooks, you won't have any relation to the original characters, but if you wan't to work with the other players and whatnot feel free I'm working on a brief into quest to get you all acquainted and whatnot, so other than that just explain why your characters would be traveling in those regions etc... and I'll do the rest ;)

For Bilbo's question I would say for a small mount you have very few options, but perhaps a wolf might be interesting... but they do eventually get large so that might prove, difficult.

I'm definitly digging the whole Asain themed summoner xD I've always gotten Final Fantasy related concepts myself, especially from X, yuna rings a perfect example to me. So I would like to see another take on it =]

And for all of you just send your concepts and whatnot to guntherschaaf@gmail.com

Ventrilo downloaded and Hero Lab/D20pro in process.

When I download D20Pro do I need core of full version? I see that the full has campaign data, is this required for us?

Ok its the anime asian summoner, cool started working on it today downloaded the APG character sheet from Paizo site and the sheet extensions. As for the time I think GMT is what 5 1/2 hours ahead of East Coast US Im not toatlly sure but Friday, Sat. or Sun. nights work for me. Let me know what you decide. Im going to down load VTT tonight. As for the character I can send him via email(I provided above) please email me with your email so I may get the character to you when Im done. Background is a half elf mystic who's clan had been communicating with creratures from other planes, when there city was attacked and loosing the battle badly, there mystics summoned the Eidolons to help them defend there city. It turns out that one of there own betrayed them & left after they overturned the battle. let me know if it sounds cool. I think its broad enough to fit into Golarian & gives you a future NPC as well.

Bilbo Bang-Bang wrote:

I would say just download whatever they offer its doesn't cost anything and has all of the DM tools etc if you decide to purchase the license, The trial itself is for DM content while the players option is $10 and allows for you to play in my game without taking up a players slot on my computer - which is limited to two - and all that is taken care of via a link on the d20 pro launch screen.

Well I provided my email at the tail end of a previous post but I will gladly send you and email, and actually GMT puts me about two hours or so behind the east coast, I live in the rockies, so 5PM GMT would be about 7PM eastern standard.

Also just as a general notice for everyone reading this I have a website dedicated to this game and will email you a link after I get a character concept =] I'll be sure to get background, a picture - if provided or requested - on your tab as well. This will serve as a hub for out of session role-playing, item log, as well as XP and other errata.

Finishing up character today.I will send you the concept and hopefully a full sheet if it works out right, lol. I will go ahead and download the player liscense.

Hey Quantum, did you get my character sheet I sent a couple of days ago? I sent it to the email you have listed in a previous post. If not, I will send it to again so you can have me make any changes you need.

Probably gonna be sunday by the time I've finished tinkering with this.
Currently fiddling with equipment.

OK 7pm eastern sounds good, I sent email reguarding details of the downloads I will be performing. looking to get character ironed out this weekend.

Realized that my character was bit too frontline heavy. I am working up an inquistor/ranger that will meet the needs a little better.

We still a go on trying to get a party together?

Any room left?

Ok completed summoner sent email to Quantum to notify, used Hero Lab justy want to know what type of format to send, also sent previous email havent heard back. Let me know about format & when you would like to start game.

I haven't has any response to my emails either. Maybe he is on vacation.

Bilbo Bang-Bang wrote:

Yeah thats possible, after all life can get in the way at times lol! Well I have enjoyed creating this character looking foward to playing. I made a bald w/one braid half-elf mystic monk(summoner), who summons a monkish Satyr from the Feywild(Eidolin), very Final Fantasy. I really like using Hero Lab just has a few glitches with creating Eidolon, Damage reduction can be choosen from 1st lvl & later 5 lvls after, but they dont have it equiped that way.

I ran into similar problems with the mount for a cavalier's mount and what could and could not be chosen. But, I will deal with the minor issue here there for the ease of creation it offers. Look forwar to playing with ya.
