Recently, a player in my "For the Children!" pbp(Pathfinder) seems to have left. Now, if this is not the case, he is welcome back.
But that does not mean this recruitment is moot! Indeed, we are looking for 2 new players!
Lv2 characters, 1000 starting gold, and 15 point buy. In addition to the core classes, I'm allowing: Oracle, Witch, Cavalier, and Alchemist. Standard races are allowed, as well as aasimars and tieflings.
Original Recruitment Thread(with the background for the story)
So far, they have discovered that the killer is a summons of some sort, and that there may be a connection to one of the orphans...
Anyway, because of how far the story has progressed, Ive decided to allow different ways to be worked into the game. Instead of being an orphan all grown up, you could be one of the people that believes Keiyanna(the lady running the orphanage) is innocent or someone who has adopted a child(or wishes too).
I'll let the players chime in now if they wish to.
Oh, and HERE is the actual game thread.

I'd like to jump in with a Cleric, or possibly Oracle. Will read over the past material, but thinking Assimar CC Cleric. Also, thinking of not reading the actual play (so not to be tempted by metagame knowledge) unless you think I should to ease in the new characters. I didn't notice much as far as limitations go, though?

By all means play whatever class you want to... we make no demands. :)
For what it is worth, my impression of this PBP, at least based upon what has happened so far, is that this PBP will possibly be a little less combat orientated and a little more skill/RP intensive. We are out to solve a mystery (with horror elements tied in) as opposed to cutting down monsters and looting.
Of course that doesn't mean that DB3 doesn't have diabolical plans for eviscerating each of us! ;)
Welcome aboard! The both of you. Reading the thread is optional IMO, we can RP you up to speed depending on how your characters are introduced!
Cheers!
PS. I am going to Banff for the weekend, so I'll be posting from my phone when possible. And as for possible other recruits? Do we have a hard limit of 4 players, or could we take on another if one was to express interest? :)

Wandering Naive Young Aasimaar Oracle (life mystery, haunted curse) who just stumbled upon the group with a desire to help. complete pacifist at heart. will never pick up a sword as death only brings more sadness. focused on healing others and saving lives. and beleives in the good within everyone. she tries to be cheerful and goodie goodie when she can. and has a habit of dressing in all white. a complete noncombatant at heart, but compensates for it by being the party face.
things i would like to request
permission to take predestigitation as an orison (too keep that white outfit clean an maintained)
to know whether or not tieflings and aasimaars get thier outsider martial proficiencies in your game. not that i plan on picking up a weapon. i don't even plan on wearing armor.

Oooh damn... more goodie-goodies! Can't people keep their life filled with anything else and protect their hips? Tsk tsk... sometimes I just wonder if there is sense to have people like this glaring and snarking, while watching these just appeared recruits... and carefully cleans one dirty spot from the robe At least keep it white then if trying to be whitey talking to himself in little bit huskey-voice as caring of the younger person?

<Blink, blink, blink. . .> oh the possibilities for rp abound. (this avatar is my character)

Lumi: I'll allow prestidigitation. It has been said all over the message boards that aasimars and tieflings do not get all martial weapon proficiency, because they do not have racial hit dice.
I've now got 4 people to choose from(if Capt makes his character soon)...
A Bones Oracle
A Life Oracle
A Witch
Capt. D's character
Decisions, decisions..

I just saw this and am working on it at moment. Human cleric ok? What about a human Paladin with no deity?
If the Paladin doesn't work and if the cleric is ok I was thinking a NG Cleric of Nethys (Destruction & Magic domains) or maybe Pharasma(Death & Healing domains).
Capt. D |
I worked up a NG Cleric with no deity with the domains of Destruction and Protection. Then I spent over an hour doing a back-story for him. I previewed it and then saved it.
When I looked again everything I had written was gone. Well it still shows his name and alignment under the alias, but that is it. So I'm going to write it all up, one again in word and re-post it later on the alias page. Then I'll post a link to the alias.

Okay then.
I'm one of those people who always thought a Paladin should have a deity.
I opted against the Paladin. In home games I'm a little loser with that rule and it occurred to me that it likely wouldn't be so in someone else's game. My houserules aren't game rules and I need to remember that. I've actually started running back through the Core Rules and refreshing my memory about what is actual rules and what I have tweaked for my table.
Sorry about that, I haven't been on the PC side of the screen more than a dozen times in the past 20 years. I'm a bit rusty.Beckett the Thrice Cursed |
I am good to go. I have not been able to write much of a background, but essentually was thinking the she was one of the few people to truely show any sort of love to me and gave me a shred of faith in people. I view my powers as both a curse and a temptation to slide into evil, so only use them to save lives, but absolutely detest undead. I do not understand why the deities would do something like this to a person, but I attempt to use it for good when I can and not get burned as a witch or necromancer when I can.

didn't think of much of a background either but i am ready. just went with wandering healer/miracle worker of sorts. (positive miracles) who helps others in the most beneficial way she can think of. though naive and not very understanding of certain concepts (such as the need for economics or why evil people get a chance to rule), she is highly observant but she sees things very black and white. hard time seeing the shades of grey. a complete pacifist choosing to never wield a weapon when she can get away with it. an incorruptable pure heart.
