Recently, a player in my "For the Children!" pbp(Pathfinder) seems to have left. Now, if this is not the case, he is welcome back.

But that does not mean this recruitment is moot! Indeed, we are looking for 2 new players!

Lv2 characters, 1000 starting gold, and 15 point buy. In addition to the core classes, I'm allowing: Oracle, Witch, Cavalier, and Alchemist. Standard races are allowed, as well as aasimars and tieflings.

Original Recruitment Thread(with the background for the story)

So far, they have discovered that the killer is a summons of some sort, and that there may be a connection to one of the orphans...

Anyway, because of how far the story has progressed, Ive decided to allow different ways to be worked into the game. Instead of being an orphan all grown up, you could be one of the people that believes Keiyanna(the lady running the orphanage) is innocent or someone who has adopted a child(or wishes too).

I'll let the players chime in now if they wish to.

Oh, and HERE is the actual game thread.

I've been fiending to run a Elven Witch. If you give me a few hours, I'll get a build and story up.

One question, DB, do you allow the Slumber hex for witches? I know some DM's aren't a big fan of that one.

All I will add at this point, as a remaining player, is that our remaining two characters are a fighter and a paladin. We have lost our cleric/rogue and our wizard. In case anyone was wondering about the party make up...

Cheers

Shadow Lodge

I'd like to jump in with a Cleric, or possibly Oracle. Will read over the past material, but thinking Assimar CC Cleric. Also, thinking of not reading the actual play (so not to be tempted by metagame knowledge) unless you think I should to ease in the new characters. I didn't notice much as far as limitations go, though?

Here is a "bare bones" skeleton of Gerald's Witch. I will be filling it out this evening.

A witch and a cleric seems to be just what the doctor ordered... might be a little soon to award the spots (and not really my call)... but then again I'm not sure what/who else we would be waiting for... ;)

Be afraid be very afraid!

Shadow Lodge

0.o

Oh no, you go back to the other game!

As for what Eadric said, he's right. You two are in(unless someone shows up by tommorrow, then it goes to dice).

Like Beckett said, I have not read the in game posts, only the ooc initial posts to set up the character. If I need to read the thread though, just let me know.

And I can change anything in the backstory the DM wants...

Shadow Lodge

Cool beans. I've been working on an Oracle idea (character is my avatar, sort of a dark hero, tension of opposites twist to the Oracle), but can go party buff Cleric if preferred.

By all means play whatever class you want to... we make no demands. :)

For what it is worth, my impression of this PBP, at least based upon what has happened so far, is that this PBP will possibly be a little less combat orientated and a little more skill/RP intensive. We are out to solve a mystery (with horror elements tied in) as opposed to cutting down monsters and looting.

Of course that doesn't mean that DB3 doesn't have diabolical plans for eviscerating each of us! ;)

Welcome aboard! The both of you. Reading the thread is optional IMO, we can RP you up to speed depending on how your characters are introduced!

Cheers!

PS. I am going to Banff for the weekend, so I'll be posting from my phone when possible. And as for possible other recruits? Do we have a hard limit of 4 players, or could we take on another if one was to express interest? :)

Imiria?! I thought I asked you to stay around Oleg's? What are you doing out this late? You know I worry...

:)

Yep and nope.....

Perlavish, goat and I are roaming here and there!

Spoiler:

I speak Boggard

Imiria:
If I was a 34 point buy NPC I might speak Boggard too. ;)

We should get back to our own thread...

A good backstory Tess! Someone who has known Keiyanna from the beginning will go a long way in convincing others of her innocence!

Any idea on when you plan on introducing us in game, DM? Just don't want to miss it, whenever it happens.

Shadow Lodge

Same here. Was also wondering if you (or anyone) wold prefer me to go with a Cleric, (and if deity was required). Also was going to hold of a little on the backstory to see if anyone wanted to work with me on a history. I can go either way (knowing other PCs in the past or not).

The Exchange

is there still an opening for this game?

I'm not sure. Waiting on DB3 to respond... :)

Shadow Lodge

Hehe, sorry about that.

Beckett hasn't posted since his last, so I guess there is a spot left. Just follow the rules given and you should be fine.

I also do not mind if you read the game-thread.

I'm sure Beckett is still interested... nobody really posted on the weekend...

Shadow Lodge

I am still interested, I was just waiting on the ok, and to see if people would rather me go with a buffing healing cleric.

Shadow Lodge

Sorry for jumping to conclusions.

Anyway, once everyone makes up their characters(make whatever character you think will be fun for the game, I won't make you play anything), I will implement my way of choosing.

>.>

Or just let the three of you play without picking.

Lantern Lodge

Wandering Naive Young Aasimaar Oracle (life mystery, haunted curse) who just stumbled upon the group with a desire to help. complete pacifist at heart. will never pick up a sword as death only brings more sadness. focused on healing others and saving lives. and beleives in the good within everyone. she tries to be cheerful and goodie goodie when she can. and has a habit of dressing in all white. a complete noncombatant at heart, but compensates for it by being the party face.

things i would like to request

permission to take predestigitation as an orison (too keep that white outfit clean an maintained)

to know whether or not tieflings and aasimaars get thier outsider martial proficiencies in your game. not that i plan on picking up a weapon. i don't even plan on wearing armor.

Oooh damn... more goodie-goodies! Can't people keep their life filled with anything else and protect their hips? Tsk tsk... sometimes I just wonder if there is sense to have people like this glaring and snarking, while watching these just appeared recruits... and carefully cleans one dirty spot from the robe At least keep it white then if trying to be whitey talking to himself in little bit huskey-voice as caring of the younger person?

<Blink, blink, blink. . .> oh the possibilities for rp abound. (this avatar is my character)

So are we in or not? The thread went dead for days...

Shadow Lodge

Last I heard, dm chooses tomorrow or may allow everyone.

Yes... this PBP moves at a very relaxed pace. ;)

My vote is for the more the merrier... let everyone in! :)

And that Beckett should play whatever class he wants to. After all, I am playing a paladin of Cayden Cailean. :)

Cheers

Lantern Lodge

i vote the more the merrier as well.

The Exchange

I still want to join, if possible

Shadow Lodge

Lumi: I'll allow prestidigitation. It has been said all over the message boards that aasimars and tieflings do not get all martial weapon proficiency, because they do not have racial hit dice.

I've now got 4 people to choose from(if Capt makes his character soon)...

A Bones Oracle
A Life Oracle
A Witch
Capt. D's character

Decisions, decisions..

I just saw this and am working on it at moment. Human cleric ok? What about a human Paladin with no deity?

If the Paladin doesn't work and if the cleric is ok I was thinking a NG Cleric of Nethys (Destruction & Magic domains) or maybe Pharasma(Death & Healing domains).

The Exchange

I worked up a NG Cleric with no deity with the domains of Destruction and Protection. Then I spent over an hour doing a back-story for him. I previewed it and then saved it.
When I looked again everything I had written was gone. Well it still shows his name and alignment under the alias, but that is it. So I'm going to write it all up, one again in word and re-post it later on the alias page. Then I'll post a link to the alias.

Shadow Lodge

Okay then.

I'm one of those people who always thought a Paladin should have a deity.

DB3, I am going to withdraw my application on this one. I've been accepted in another game, and don't want to stretch myself too thin. good luck to you and the rest of the applicants.....

Shadow Lodge

I'm sorry to see you go, but good luck with your game! Maybe you can make an appearance if I ever do the prequel.

I opted against the Paladin. In home games I'm a little loser with that rule and it occurred to me that it likely wouldn't be so in someone else's game. My houserules aren't game rules and I need to remember that. I've actually started running back through the Core Rules and refreshing my memory about what is actual rules and what I have tweaked for my table.

Sorry about that, I haven't been on the PC side of the screen more than a dozen times in the past 20 years. I'm a bit rusty.

The Exchange

Here is what I have for my cleric Ren Borlin

Here is a new link that works.

Shadow Lodge

I was thinking of playing an Inquisitor rather than gothic oracle. What do you guys think?

Shadow Lodge

Unfortunately, Inquisitor was one of the classes I was not allowing for this game, to avoid a rush of people wanting to play it because this was a murder-mystery game.

Shadow Lodge

Thats fine, I didnt catch the no Inquisitor part. I'll stay with the Oracle of Bones.

Okay, if everyone is ready, I'll introduce you three tomorrow. Sorry for the wait.

Sovereign Court

I am good to go. I have not been able to write much of a background, but essentually was thinking the she was one of the few people to truely show any sort of love to me and gave me a shred of faith in people. I view my powers as both a curse and a temptation to slide into evil, so only use them to save lives, but absolutely detest undead. I do not understand why the deities would do something like this to a person, but I attempt to use it for good when I can and not get burned as a witch or necromancer when I can.

Lantern Lodge

didn't think of much of a background either but i am ready. just went with wandering healer/miracle worker of sorts. (positive miracles) who helps others in the most beneficial way she can think of. though naive and not very understanding of certain concepts (such as the need for economics or why evil people get a chance to rule), she is highly observant but she sees things very black and white. hard time seeing the shades of grey. a complete pacifist choosing to never wield a weapon when she can get away with it. an incorruptable pure heart.

what i am going for with this character

The Exchange

As much as I really want to get in on the game, something have come up and I have to withdraw from the running. I just won't be able to regularly participate and that's not fair to anyone. Sorry.

Any space left here, or am I too late?
