Where is V when s/he is needed?

Still stuck in a trap.

Hopefully, one that isn't going to now fill with acid.

I even retraced back to check if there were X-s or not in V's eyes.

I'm hoping no. The trap door closed tightly and I think V was on a lower level to boot.

Liberty's Edge

Pretty sure V is fine.

V is a pretty high level wizard. He can take a little falling damage from a floor trap.

It wasn't just a floor trap, it also had a pile driver.

It's also probably really dusty down there, too. Makes you sneeze. I hope V is all right!

Ha. Hobbit fajita. :)

Spoiler:
I am surprised that kobold had no chance at lashing against others without V's oversight.

Spoiler:
Will Malak raise him, animate or leave the corpse behind?

Dark Archive

Elequent for a "half Orc." I know who's going to win.

Linky

What I don't understand is why they don't just go back inside, where they can stop being blasted by the big spells and magic weather effects (and block Z's line of sight).

It looks like the pyramid has more than those top 2 levels, and some of the scenes they were in it looked like they were in rooms that were completely closed off from the outside--and thus protected from the weather, etc.

They were still being hit by the viritolic sphere inside, remember? If you mean up/down a level, I gather Roy doesn't want to be trapped, and at the moment he suspects V is outside as well.

Yeah, this might be a bad "never split the party" scenario.

Is tarquin using the law of inverse ninjitsu against the party?

Surely, he knows his tropes well and is capable of using them.

Hilarious!

"Try, try, try, try not to get too much in anyone's way!"

"Hooray, I did it!"

Ouch.
Also, overconfidence will be Tarquin's undoing.

Dark Archive

Anyone else notice how Tarquin hasn't actually used his axe...at all. With the exception of the initial hit on Roy. That's mildy frightening given everything that just happened in the page. A trip, snatch arrows feat, AoO w/ improvised dagger and a grapple + throw. I think the last panel is just going to piss him off enough to start trying.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Everyone move in close...

he certainly has the int for whirlwind attack.

See, that's what I was expecting from the "Magnificent" but alas, it did not happen.

That may be true on some far off day, but on this day ... The good guys don't stand a chance.

Don't forget that Tarquin's allies are about to join the fray.

And why do I keep thinking Xykon and the REAL team evil will show up right in the middle of this brawl, right when the heroes and villains are spent.

Five platinum on the bad guys.

Tarquin is even more insidious than always, despite Roy having decent Sense Motive score.

Spoiler:
No whirlwind attack, however :(

So close and yet so far. At least they got off the roof!

Dark Archive

heh Malack is awsome

I'm beginning to think that Tarquin and Malack are going to single handedly defeat the order only to have Nale mess it up.

Well, of course they will, on both parts.

And it looks like V's not quite dead...yet.

Tarquin and Malak face each other!

Spoiler:
In reasonable way talking out their differences

Spoiler:
Did we mention that Tarquin is awesome?

Only if it goes the wrong way. When it comes the right way (down) it's great.

Huh, I really felt like there was going to be a cutaway panel there.

Spoiler:
"Trust me, I learned all about the tactical value of surprise back in Fighter's College."

Compare the look of younger, more naive, smiling Roy to his current grizzled veteran looks.

Camera on the bad guys move.

Spoiler:
"Bwa ha ha ha ha ha - oh! Oh! They're related! They're all - Don't you get it? Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"

The Exchange

Dat Imp.

I'm seeing a lot of zombie mush coming in the following pannels

*brains?*

I think they were referred to as mummies. Zombi... *turn undead*! *poof*. Oh, thank you Durkon.

I think Qarr (the imp) will be seeing a promotion in the future.

Or he'll be consumed by someone more powerful than him. Could go either way.
