Gamer Life General Discussion

Iron GM's Regional Semifinal in Vegas felt as big and Iron as the Titanic... yet we reached our goal and no one drowned.

Thanks to Jason Bulmahn and Paizo for their kindness and generosity. Thanks to the NeonCon crew all the Iron GM participants. And thanks to our stunning gamer girl Ashley McRoy and Coax Love productions for making this film.

If you let the video play past the seeming end, there are some fun out takes.

We're going to do this all over again at TotalCon in MA, then again at synDCon in DC, and we expect another Regional Semifinal or two after that and before our Gen Con World Championship.

Finally, somebody made a gamer video correctly. Along with some play-action, there is both a hot chick, and a guy in a bear suit.

Bravo Gentleman, bravo.

Also, Rone rocks!

You are two toasted slices of cool with a hearty slab of roast awesome between 'em.

Thanks, perfect sandwich! :)

During scoring, one mother's four year old son came in and was all over that guy in the animal outfit. It was adorable.

Ya know, I'd have also liked to see a few of the 'in game' one liners or something to get a feel for what the guys were like... a little less music and strippers (yeah I know, I know...) and a little more GM Dialogue goodness.

Thanks for the feedback, Shifty.

We will make more videos showing different aspects of the event, but this particular film was just aimed at capturing the enthusiasm of our show at NeonCon. We're getting together this Saturday to create another video quite likely to follow along the lines of what you suggested above.

There will be more Regional Semifinals (TotalCon, synDCon, et al.) and we'll be shooting at those as well.

That said, that's my music (except for the French Band there at the end during out takes) but I swear it was the editor who asked to put it in after hearing it at the event. I would never force my music on you.

::Backs a truck full of feedback-squealing guitar amps up to the back of Shifty's home.::

And I must defend our lady's honor. Ashley, my friend, isn't a stripper ("not that there's anything wrong with it"). She's a true gentle, sweet soul and a highly paid NYC fashion model who did us the favor.

I'm the stripper. Yucky, huh? ;)

I forgot to mention, we'll be interviewing our NeonCon winner Kassil and his tableful of players on the next Iron GM podcast so people can hear about the winning game's particulars, one liners, big moments, epic dodges etc. I'll post a link when it's up.

A few more 'in game' one liners is a good idea. But less strippers violates a basic law of the universe when it comes to taking market share from your competitors.

It was a flippant throw-away line, I'm always up for strippers and/or models, and wouldn't really complain. I'm sure she is a lovely girl and she would be welcome at my gaming table.

As far as the music, I wasn't inferring that I dont LIKE the music, only that I wanted to hear the lines that made the guys Iron GM's.

I'm an 80's metal head - so a heavy track and strippers in the one video is like a staple diet for me.

Oh, man. I wasn't offended in the least by anything you said. I think it's really cool that you took the time to give a critique. It's exactly what I ask for. I just said that thing about Ashley because she might actually see the comment. Sorry if any of that came off the wrong way, Shifty. I was just foolin' - unless you actually want me to back those guitar amps into your home...

That took vision. Wow.

All good :)

Yeah you can drop those amps around back, in fact maybe you could get Ash to drop em round, so I can explain and apologise for my comment... :p
