Rezdave,

I'm trying to find all the Dungeon adventures where Boggards were encountered.

Please help me.

Wow ... good luck.

My database is broken down mostly by Level, Settings and Maps since that made it easy for me to find adventures that fit into the current circumstances of the campaign, or from which I could rip maps to insert into the storyline with new descriptions or encounters (like when I don't need a module, I just need a village or keep or cavern or boat or whatever).

In the early days when I wrote descriptions I wrote them Player-Safe with enough hints to remind me what the plot was, then got more detailed later on. Never really tracked specific monsters, though, and only mention them in the description if they were integral to the plot.

In fact, I have no hits for "bogg" in any text field.

I don't remember them being central to any plotline, nor even utilized in a Side-Trek (which would be a great place for them).

Honestly, grognard that I am, I only recall one being used in A2.

Sorry,

D.

Those were Boggles, but good memory!

Ah ... boggles, boggards, boggarts (weren't they called that at some time - or boggert, maybe?) ... I always get them mixed up, actually.

A google search of Boggard brings up a hit for Pathfinder but nothing for any edition of D&D, at least not within the first three or four pages pages .

My bad.

This was to answer a question yesterday on a Thread I started in the "Pathfinder: General Discussion" Forum (Monster Ecology: The Frogs). I was trying to see if there was a difference between the Bullywug and the Boggard -- I wanted to research any fluff over the years and see if I could distinguish the two.

Unfortunately, my memory was playing tricks on me. I was confusing the old Boggart (the name) with Paizo's brand new "Boggard."

Thus, my quest to discover the difference between Bullywug and Boggard ended with one is WotC IP and the other is Paizo's version.

So now I'm just eliminating Boggard and using Bullywug -- when Paizo publishes something for Boggard I just call it Bullywug.

Nol-Daer had a Boggart I believe. Can't think of anything with Bullywugs as more then a random encounter off hand but thats not saying much - I'm no Rezdave.

Well, in that case ...

Bullywug hits:

#63 - Hunt for a Hierophant
#140 - The Bullywug Gambit
#147 - Into the Maw

Grippli hits:

#63 - Mad Chefs of Lac Anchois
#78 - Trial of the Frog

I'm sure there's more, but this is what I have in my notes.

Awesome, thanks guys.

At the very least this will help me distinguish, and then begin designing, some cultural and racial differences between Bullywug and Grippli -- especially since issus #63 has both and thus Perkins -- in his first issue as editor, I believe, would want to distinguish between the two, fluff-wise. I'll make time to read them this weekend (hopefully).
