We have some new iconics & the cover of advance players guide is awesome. Anyone else doing a Paizo Lantern for the bestest holiday ever? Any suggestions on what to carve this year?

I might take a crack at one, if I do, I'll upload photos.

An Icon? if so which one? I am leaning toward the two headed serpent on the APG myself (so I can do two :) Looking forward to photos.

I have no skill at such things, but my vote would be for a goblin. Paizo goblins are iconic and appropriate for the day.

Great. Would love to see it. I did the gobbos a couple of years ago, but as you said, my skill is not great. Most of the other years are on photobucket too :)

I might look at doing a goblin, I'm rather fond of the little bastards.

I didn't do anything Pathfinder related last year, but year before that I did Groetus.

That's deeply badass!

thanks EPG :) My favorite is the beholder, but I never got a pic of it lit.

Nice Benchalk, yeah you should show me the gobo this year!

that goes for the rest of you want to see pics :)

Lets do something else; we all did goblins last year; we did beholders the year before. Heathy you out there? I think we did witches three years ago...hmm. I was thinking maybe castles or a haunted house jack o lantern. Somebody, like Lilith, usually hosts and posts our pictures; it all in the original thread somewhere in archive I guess.

Were you thinking a specific castle from PF Vale? If so let me know.

Here's what I'm thinking of doing this year. It may not be Paizonian, but it is pretty classic. Well, I'm actually only doing the head.

I don't know how I'm going to do the horns. Cardboard I guess.

Use the stem from two pumpkins, and fix them on the sides. They look like horns, and it's better if they don't match.

Good idea. Would work if I had stems. Maybe I'll grab a saw and head up in the woods behind the house.

Just use the horns from your Brunhilde costume.

If your local grocery store has a pile of pumpkins out front, there is a good chance there are spare stems in there somewhere. I grabbed a bunch extra for my beholder a couple of years ago & you might get lucky find two that match. :)

LOL I think that just might be my brother-in-law!

Ok, so he's still a little dark (I need to thin out his shell a bit more) and the photo kind of sucks, but here's mine for this year:

The Ugly!

You can see the source material Here

Nice; sigh; didnt cut a jack this year; just coulnt get the energy; sigh; first in a long time; kids didnt seem to care one way other the other since there were cutting pumpkins at their moms anyway.

hope to see some more of your guys pics.

Aww, that sucks Valegrim. There's always next year. I've been thinking about carving watermelons over the summer too, I've seen some cool ones on dA and I figure it'd help hone my skills in the off season.

So how'd everyone else's turn out? Tarren? Curaigh?

BTW, I got a new pic of the Ugly up on dA, much brighter, visible, and all around better looking. The link in my last post should lead to it.

Also feel free to check out my two non-paizo efforts from this year Here and Here

lol; watermelons hehe; that gives me an idea;

anyone want to do a "Squash of your Choice Thankgiving Turkey" hehe.

sounds fun; am thinking to do it.

This was my goal.

This was the result.

I used carrots for the horns.

Not nearly as nice as Benchak's but I can live with that.

Benchalk: that is Awesome! I do not think you need any more thinning, it has that 'just-turning-into-the-light' look. Nice!
Tarren: I love yours as well, good call with the carrots :)
Vale: carve one anyway why not do it on their next visit-chances are they will be glad you set it up for them :) Yes I think it would be fun to carve other squashes and I have done a few watermelons in the last year or so.

If not thanksgiving, perhaps we could carve a gourd for Erik Mona Day?!?

All: Post more pics. Send them to me if you want to & I will post them :)

I would love to share mine...

Spoiler:
but Moscow has sold out of pumpkins--all three grocery stores and the couple of small places we have too :( The coop had some, but they are organic make-a-pie-from pumpkins, not the lantern kind. However I will be trying them on Thursday! (see Vale it is not too late do it for your own happiness or for the happiness of paizonians across the globe :)

*ack* I did not get time this weekend either :(

Tarren yours works for Erik Mona Day!
