Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

On Mondays I GM my Black Chrysanthemum campaign, where the good kami battle their evil brother Fu Leng, and wield as a weapon "every living thing in ROkugan".

So about 20 million.

If you're just counting PCs, I am currently only playing a samurai/ninja in DRA's fantastic Empire of Mists campaign. Check it out. The writing was great.

Sovereign Court 5/5

I have a few, I feel that as you advance you need to have one character in each tier so that you can play no matter what is being offered. I have:

10 lvl fighter (the lawnmower)
7 lvl fighter (1/2 Orc with Orcish double axe)
3 lvl rogue
3 lvl cleric (Brother Clarence)
2 lvl sorcerer
2 lvl 1 lvl fighter/1 lvl cleric (he can heal himself after a battle)

Plus I have generated at least one of every class so that I can be ready, just in case.
I really need to get one more up to 5th before my fighter goes out of range for tier 5-7.

Updating my list since I posted it back in October.

Qolloran - 1/2 elven paladin 10/bard 2 [12] [Qadira]
Sanuba - elven ranger 2/rogue 4/pathfinder delver 3 [9] [Osirion]
Chelzy D'Tona - human infernal sorcerer 6 [Cheliax]
Fuego! - halfling alchemist 3/oracle 1 [4] [Andoran]
Mal Havok - 1/2 orc magus 2 [Taldor]

I never apply DM credit to characters over 7th level, so I'll soon be making a new character. I've got no idea what that will be at the moment, maybe a non-melee. But I'm a feat guy, so It's hard to pass up Fighter feat progression.

Jackie and Chan (get it?) were played from 1 up, with no DM credit. The others were mostly DM credit, especially levels 1-5 were all DM credit.

Here are my characters:

  • 12th Level Chan "lil Monkey" Unarmed non-Monk Monk (Fighter/Rogue; Osi; waiting on GenCon to play)
  • 8th Level Fester Wild Shaper (12th level build is Druid/Ranger/Fighter; And)
  • 6th Level Jackie Unarmed Monk - Retired due to negative Boon (Fighter/Monk/Rogue; Osi; rebuilt better as Chan above)
  • 4.33 Level Rapa Living Monolith (Osi; DM Credit only; never played; planned 12th Fighter/Living Monolith)

I'm a one PC kind of guy, but I'm down to very few mods I can play for credit:

  • Cult of the Ebon
  • Godsmouth
  • #2-06 Hersey I
  • #2-09 Hersey III
  • #2-13 to #2-22
  • #2-EX Midnight Mauler

So if anyone is running those modules and are within 5 hour of central Kentucky, let me know. I'd love to finish them off before GenCon. The sooner I can also get Fester to 12th level the sooner I can build my Living Monolith.

I wonder if they will make new 12th level modules after this GenCon? ;-)

Liberty's Edge 4/5

Depends on how you define active characters.

Played:
9 - Fighter 7/Cleric 1/Ranger 1 (archer build)
3 - Fighter 3 (tripping build)

GM Credit only:
1 - Gunslinger 1 (speed musketeer)
1 - Barbarian 1 (melee damage dealer)

In the wings:
1 - Ninja 1
1 - Rogue 1

Potentially other new builds...

1/5

May I ask how playing this character was? I am planning to take the Pathfinder Delver PrC in a Council of Thieves game and was wondering if it was/is fun.

I have a great deal of fun playing Sanuba.

His skill base is pretty broad, he's decent in combat (mostly an archer, but does well with his elven curved blade), & overall he's a surly cuss (I play him as 'not the nicest elf').

Sometimes I find myself shaking my head though, when players/PCs who aren't used to having a rogue around decide that the best way to handle a trap is to bash their way through it. He's not above letting them do it their way & letting them suffer the consequences.

As to the Pathfinder Delver PrC in particular, I found that I get more out of the skills & whatnot that laid the groundwork/prerequisites than anything specific from the class itself. Acrobatics - good for getting to places you probably shouldn't be. Disable Device - handy when it comes up. Knowledge History - useful, also allows me to justify why a tomb-robber speaks so many ancient languages. Perception - who doesn't like Perception. However, I enjoy playing the skill-monkey & the Bardic Knowledge ability helps him to fill in info where the party might be lacking. I haven't had a chance to use the trap delay ability yet, but I'm hoping to do so sometime soon. I was very happy to put the pseudo-Favored Enemy [Constructs/Oozes/Undead] ability to use recently.

To sum up - I have fun playing this PC.
