The idea of the groupings is that they can be specific to the character. Groups might include Traits, Combat Feats, Teamwork Feats, etc. My example Gnome Bard from the introduction would use a group for Gnome Magic.

btw, if anybody need to apply colours to prototype pages like this, you can do so with this hidden feature of the Composer :)

Amazing! This is so cool...

It looks pretty good. The only complaints that I have are that:

One the misfire value is specific to different guns, so some guns have a misfire of 1. Also other things increase the miss fire value such as paper cartridges, they increase it by 1 when used, and the broken condition. Really the misfire value should be in the firearm box.

And two, which isn't so much a complaint, more of a suggestion for use of the extra space, is that you should include a couple of firearm boxes so that you can keep track of different ones, if you have them that is. This also makes sense if you take into account what I said before about the misfire value.

I just made a gunslinger yesterday, for PFS, and I wish I would have come here first.

Anyway, SGmendez gave two great suggestions. I'll play with the sheet, and see if I can come up with anything.

I'm off to transfer my character to this sheet.

Thanks!

I've added space for 5 firearms, and a misfire rate on each.

I've done a prototype sheet for the Ninja. It is of course subject to change based on what Paizo releases.

Ninja.pdf

I re-used the kanji graphic from the 3.5 Ninja, and will probably do something similar for the Samurai when I get round to it. I was wondering about more oriental stylings of some sort, but I wouldn't want it to interfere with the workings of the sheet.

I just wanted to say that I really like the character sheets. Congratulations and thank you on making such a great product.

Looks good. I think the kanji looks nice on the sheet and thinking about it, it would be kind of cool to see something like that on all of the sheets. Like a lute or musical note for the bard, an ax, bear, or some kind of rune for the barbarian, etc.

It's been suggested before, but it's tough to come up with appropriate symbolism for all the classes. It's also important to know where to draw the line - it would be very tempting to cover the Alchemist sheet with symbols, bubbles, fumes and spilled potions, but it would just get distracting. I've always taken a "function first, decoration second" approach.

Oh I completely agree. As an idea you could just do the name of the class using a different languages alphabet. For which language you could use, you could use a language that the class comes from origins wise or you could pull them from fantasy languages such as elven, draconic, and dwarven.

I stumbled on your Character Sheets by accident, Sadie, and I have to say that they are marvelous; they are may new favorite out of every sheet I've seen so far.

With that, I have a couple of suggestions / requests if you don't mind hearing them.

1) I'd like to see the psionic classes from Dreamscarred Press's Psionics Unleashed gain their own character sheets. I think the book and its classes have enough momentum behind them to warrant such an addition.

2) I'd like to see some type of generic "prestige class" sheet. I think having a unique page for each Prestige Class is a bit much, personally. Having a page or two that a player can customize to fit the needs of their own Prestige Classes would be extremely useful.

3) A generic "abilities" page, especially for detailing archetype abilities and homebrew classes would be excellent.

I just checked these sheets out, I really like them and will probably start using these for my games.

I have however one remark, when generating character sheets for a wizard, using the auto-detect feature for the inventory style does not supply you with an inventory sheet, you have to select "with wands, scrolls and potions".

I made a start on the psionic classes after they were requested elsewhere, based roughly on the 3.5 psionics, but never got far. I'll give them another go some time.

If there's a sheet you seriously need, and I'm being too slow or stubborn to do it for you, then how about making it yourself? This is an open source project, meaning you can download all the Illustrator files here, work on them freely and release them back to the community if you wish.

I, personally, am nowhere near as practiced or skilled with Illustrator as you are, Sadie. As a matter of fact, I'm not entirely sure if I have it installed at all! ^_^

When I started this project, my Illustrator-fu was non-existant as well (though my Photoshop-fu was pretty hot already). I've learned a lot by doing this. Even if you're not satisfied with the results, I encourage anyone to have a go at making sheets.

Also, a quick note: You can download/install a 30-day trial version of Illustrator from Adobe's website. All features are fully functional, you just are limited in duration of access.

30 days is plenty of time to monkey around with Sadie's sheets and rearrange them to your liking. Even a novice with Photoshop/Paint/Gimp can manage to get around what little curve is needed to learn what's necessary to shuffle things around.

Have a go at it.

Finishing my trio of prototypes of the Ultimate Magic classes is the Samurai: Samurai.pdf, Ninja.pdf, Gunslinger.pdf

Once the actual book is released, I'll make final adjustments and include them in the main set. Until then, you can get the prototypes from those download links. Feedback is welcome on any of the sheets, and watch out for updates.

Sadie would you consider giving me check in rights to subdirectory to create based on your work the .ai's for class archetypes?

I don't think I can grant access to just one directory (quoth google: "We do not offer path-based access control in our version control system. Instead, you should agree with committers on expectated duties, and trust them to act responsibly.")

I'd certainly consider adding you as a committer. Can you email me some of your work to check the quality first?

I am super impressed by the quality of these sheets :)

I hope at some point a portrait/form-fillable version might be made available for tablet users of all stripes :)

Just wanted to say that I'm really enjoying using this sheet for my Barbarian in the PF game I'm in :) I love the flavor of having RAGE! listed as it is, with bonuses and penalties.
The only other thing I wonder about is perhaps having an extra box (like elsewhere) for weapons indicating attack bonuses and damage when raging.

I would try this out but my illustrator-fu is non-existent as, sadly, is my photoshop-fu. I once tried to learn how to play around with things using GIMP, but that didn't exactly work out as hoped.

I should download a copy of illustrator (and photoshop) and see what I can do... Since I actually have some copious spare time at the moment, although I'm spending most of it getting back into painting minis.

There's a RAGE! box on the attack and damage bonuses, in the upper left just under the base attack bonus. Or do you mean a different one for each weapon, showing the adjusted attack and damage while raging?

I actually just got my Print Copy of Ultimate Combat yesterday, and one of my friends is playing a Gunslinger. He was using the Round 2 version of the class, but he immediately wanted to take up one of the Archetypes for the class (the Clint Eastwood Archetype). We were looking at your Gunslinger and noted several major changes that would have to be made in order to make the sheet work for him.

Remembering what you said to me several months ago, I pulled out my Illustrator and reworked the Gunslinger sheet for that archetype, and I have to say, you were right. Editing everything was certainly a lot easier then building them probably was, I imagine.

Anyway, I went ahead and wrote four Archetype Sheets for the Gunslinger that I wanted to send you, Sadie, but I don't want to post them here because of the whole "book's technically not released yet" thing, so is there a place I can send them to you?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Some of you have been waiting a long time for this: Psionics sheets.

Psion.pdf, Psychic Warrior.pdf, Soulknife.pdf, Wilder.pdf

There will of course be a psionic version of the character info and inventory sheets as well. These are prototypes, so feedback is welcome.

Excellent! Glad to hear you got what you needed out of them. I don't have Ultimate Combat yet (not living in the States), but I will make final modifications and release them for real when I get it. If there are any suggestions you have based on the final classes, don't hesitate to drop me a note.

Paizo's forum doesn't have a PM function, but you can email me here. However, I'm not in the habit of including archetypes in the document itself so if you think these sheets are likely to be of use to the community, you could either:

  • publish a link to them here
  • submit them to the Google repository

The latter means learning how Subversion works, which is probably a little harder than Illustrator.

I haven't looked at the Ninja or Samurai PDFs yet, but comparing my Ultimate Combat book to your PDF and you got it 100% spot on; there's nothing mechanical that you'd need to change, unless you want to add a box for the new Nimble ability (which you don't really need, because you can just place that bonus in the Dodge to AC column on the combat page.)

EDIT: To make more Sense, the Gunslinger doesn't have Bravery like it does in the Round 2 playtest. Instead it has a new ability called Nimble, which adds a dodge bonus to the Gunslinger's AC as long as they follow some fairly predictable armor restrictions. That bonus is very easily noted on your combat sheet, under the "Notes" box under AC.

Golden-Esque wrote:

Ah damn, it's one of these:

Ultimate Combat wrote:

Starting at 2nd level, a gunslinger gains

a +1 dodge bonus to AC... This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels
beyond 2nd level

So the calculation for it has to be (Level + 2) / 4. Yuk.

As you may have noticed, for the most part I update these sheets based on whether or not my players need them. Sadly, I have a player who needed something for the qiggong monk archetype. That archetype ... is nuts. After a little bit of brain storming with him, we both think that the best approach would be to have a separate sheet in addition to the baseline Monk sheet to track qiggong powers. After all, the archetype is stackable with EVERY other Monk archetype in existence (I don't think there are any archetypes that trade away all of the class features a qiggong monk can alter), so it makes sense to keep it on its own page.

Here's the pdf I came up with. Again, if you're going to use this Archetype Page, PLEASE make sure you keep the standard Dyslexic Studies Monk page, as this one is not designed to be the end-all Monk page.Monk (Qiggong).pdf

Hope you enjoy it.

To be honest, I don't think I'd bother with a section for Nimble unless you really want it to be represented. It's not a massive bonus to AC like the Monk's is. Very small, and since it's just a dodge bonus, it doesn't have its own special rules to manage like the Monk's does (you lose the Dodge bonus when you're flat-footed or wearing Medium or Heavy Armor).

Yeah, they have the ability to trade almost any Monk class feature from beyond 3rd level for a different ki power. Because the Qiggong Monk only alters the abilities you want it to alter, it also stacks with every archetype for the Monk. For example, if you have a Monk Archetype that trades Slow Fall but not Wholeness of Body, you can take that Archetype AND the Qiggong Monk. You couldn't trade Slow Fall fr a Qiggong power because you no longer get it, but you can trade Wholeness of Body because you would still normally get it.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Incredible. Did they design that archetype purely to make it harder to keep track of? :)

I know that this might be to much but can someone please, pretty please, make me a sheet for the Martial Artist Monk Archetype? I would myself but I have no idea how to do it.

It shouldn't be to hard since it doesn't have any special abilities like the Qingqong, LOL.

I'd imagine that Sadie is on the busy side at the moment and I know for a fact he doesn't have Ultimate Combat yet. Not to mention he has stated that he will not be making Archetype Character sheets. I, on the other hand, do have Ultimate Combat, and do make archetype sheets based off of Sadie's work, but I am not making (or releasing) archetype sheets for Ultimate Combat until the book is released on August 4th to prevent the spread of spoilers.

I just published a new version containing:

Ultimate Combat: Gunslinger, Ninja, Samurai and Ronin
Psionics Unleashed: Psion, Psychic Warrior, Soulknife and Wilder
Bonus: Antipaladin

Plus updates and fixes across the board. Go get it!

I wouldn't want to print with a background like that, but it did occur to me - when visiting an Apple-holic friend this weekend - that people trying ways of using the sheets on a tablet might want a more paper-like background for it. For example, Noteshelf lets you write on top of a background image. Unfortunately that app has some limitations: in my limited time playing with it I couldn't find a way of importing a ready-made book from somewhere, so I'd just have to ship the pages as pictures and let people construct it themselves. Does anyone else have tablet ideas? I'm an Androider myself.

(Semi-legal note: This does not constitute an endorsement of Noteshelf or any other app, and I cannot vouch for its suitability. It's not my fault if you waste £2.99 on it.)

Anyway, it shouldn't be too hard for me to add a selection of background images to the colour section of the Composer if people want them, as well as the option to download as images rather than as a PDF. I may get round to that eventually.

This is pretty awesome. I've tried my hand at a couple of the archetypes (particularly the Sandman Bard archetype, the minor changes for the Black Blade [Magus], and the Synthesist for the Summoner as well as some home-made archetypes). If I get up the courage, I'll post them, but in any case, yours look much better than mine!

And to you, Sadie, I again say that your character sheets are amazing and thank you.

On my iPad, I use iAnnotate PDF as a player. But you could easily import any PDF directly from Dropbox with it, then just setup bookmarks in the app for things you know you're going to be referencing at the table frequently. I stumbled upon the app from this review and determined that it was worth the investment, even as only a player. I was not wrong.

I picked up a stylus for my iPad, and imported blank character sheets. Any annotations you make in the app by writing directly on the character sheet can be emailed to anywhere as a "flattened" PDF. Meaning, your blank character sheet PDF now is a filled out and non-editable character sheet PDF that you can share with your GM if necessary, or just for keeping backups in a gaming group shared Dropbox folder for everyone.

Add Bullzip to the mix with a form fillable sheet, and you have yourself a genuine recipe for the war against...

I just noticed an error on the Barbarian sheet. Under rounds of fatigue (on the barbarian specific sheet) it says it's the numbers of rounds of rage divided by two. It should be multiplied, right?

I give much thanks to those involved with this thread and the products.
