If primaries and alternates could all send me an email address where I can reach you, I'd be very grateful. This is especially true for alternates, who I will (obviously) need to get ahold of if someone drops - curse the Paizo messageboards for not having PM functionality.
I'll post again when I get into work today in about an hour or so.
Welcome to the game!
Edit: Helps if I tell you that my email address is jeremymillzz at gmail dot com.

Hi everybody! You've all got great character concepts and I'm really looking forward to experiencing the AP with you.
Thanks again, DM J for inviting me into the game. I've been interested in playing Council of Thieves for quite a while and I look forward to seeing what challenges lay in await of us.
Sarien Ruseff |
Introducing the character profile (Wander Weir). Everything is complete except for his equipment. I still need to decide on his preferred weapons.
Also, a few small changes from the last version: Dropped Agile Manuevers (Feat) in favor of Stealthy. Changed Studded Leather Armor to just Leather Armor. No armor check penalty for me!
Rauno Redpath |
I'll finish Rauno this weekend. I believe all that is left is rounding out his equipment, but I'll check things over to be sure.
Just to make sure I'm not missing (or imagining or assuming) anything, character creation rules are:
-20 point buy.
-Original rulebook and APG are accepted.
-Two traits, one from the adventure path character guide and one other. No rich parents or heirloom weapon (unless specifically cleared).
-Average class starting gold.
Is that all correct?
Thanks!

One thing I did want to mention - I'd like to use the Hero Point system from the APG, although as fair warning, hero points are likely to be few and far between. You will each have one to start with.
Let's see, what else?
HP: Max HP at first level, after that, though, you'll be rolling them. You will have the option to keep your roll or have me make a second roll, but if you ask me to roll, you must take my result, even if it's lower.
Starting Funds: Average starting funds for a first-level character of your class, please.
Initiative: I'd really like to roll initiative for the party. It makes things go much more smoothly. If anyone has any strong objections to this (maybe you like the set of Virtual Dice Paizo gave you, who knows), let me know and we'll work something out.
Skill Checks: I'll make skill checks for you from time to time, particularly Perception checks. Most other things you'll get to roll yourselves, with very rare exceptions.
Maps: I'm actually still working out how I'm going to do this. Google Documents seems like the easiest way to go, but I've got some firewall issues to figure out a way around as far as that goes. Most of this weekend for me is going to be spent figuring out how to get maps to work. More to come on this, but rest assured that there will be some kind of mappage.
Ninja'd by Rauno - by 3 minutes!
Yes, everything you said there is correct. And yes, WW, Adventurer's Armory is fine.

I'll be doing about 99% of my posting from my iPad, which does not play nice with google docs at all. So if you start mapping on google, chances are that I won't be able to view them. Just a heads up.
Really? There's another reason for me not to buy one. Although I have to wonder if a graphic file stored on google docs would be rendered differently than a spreadsheet or document. As long as the file isn't converted into a Google Doc format it should download the same way any image file online is.
DM J |
Well, I do own my own website (it's an old site, from an old band I was in), so if I'm going to post image files I can just do it from there. Don't worry, I'll figure something out.
I have the world's greatest PC, and am searching for a reason not to buy the iPad. I'm having a hard time. I want both.
Kael, Son of Seas |
Profile started, will be finished before the weekend is over.
I have a question, though: will you allow me to replace the water domain from my nature bond class ability with the oceans subdomain from the APG? I know that RAW say it's a cleric option only, but it really fits my character, and I don't see any sort of balance issues arising from taking it.
Sarien Ruseff |
My equipment list has been updated. I've got some money left over and I'm thinking that I may spend it on some more supplies but have them left at Sarien's hut. He's likely to have rope and a grappling hook but not necessarily carry it on him at all times. Since this is (to the best of my knowledge) something of an urban campaign, does it make sense to leave supplies at home like that, with the expectation that he'll be able to go pick it up later if he needs it? I understand events may prevent him from doing so, but I just don't see him carrying all his equipment along with him everywhere he goes.

FYI, I believe that I have developed an effective (although somewhat inelegant) solution for maps.
Can everyone please check from whatever computer(s) they'll be posting from and make sure that this link right here isn't firewalled or otherwise inaccessible? You should see a grid.
Let me know.

Give me some advanced notice when you need a map and i'll cook one up for you on maptools, if you like it I can make more. I am about to finish Chapter 1 so its unlikely i'll have to draw anything spoilerified.
I have some kickass ideas for the sewers and i'm sure I can make a map for it. MSN me if you'd like me to prepare and we'll work out the details. Once you have the map, you can use it as a background on DM Genie OR Maptools so we don't have the problem of me moving all the tokens etc. on Maptools when you update.
I think your MSNing me but im at gf's laptop in another room about to go to bed now and computer may restart- give me a response on here.

** spoiler omitted **
I've been looking at Maptools, but there's a fair learning curve with it. I'll get there, but not in the next week or anything. If you want to draw up maps for me in the meantime, that'd be very much appreciated. Otherwise, I'm sure we'll get by... I should be able to do some damage with a combination of Photoshop, MS Paint, and a standard grid. It'd be fine if I had Photoshop at work, but no such luck. We can talk tomorrow.

Good morning, team!
I hope to get started today, at some point. I was sick all weekend (and indeed I am still sick), and of course the playtest for Ultimate Magic starts today (so I'm dorking out about that), but I am confident that the first post will be up this afternoon. If for some reason it gets pushed to tomorrow, that wouldn't be the end of the world, but I'd like to avoid that if I can.
I'm working with my friend now to help him get his character sheet set (he's running a half-orc barbarian) - Rauno, Freya, and Sarien, your sheets are stamped and good to go. Still waiting on Kael.
Sarien Ruseff |
Sorry to hear you've been ill!
I just made one final change to the character sheet, exchanging the wrist sheath for a spring-loaded wrist sheath. I also added all my combat notes with each of the weapons Sarien has available. I'm definitely all ready to go, and excited to get started.
DM J |
Sorry about the wait. I ended up having to work most of the weekend.
@ DM J: Would it be acceptable to just email you a PDF of my character sheet? That would save me a little time, rather than converting it all into a stat block on my profile page.
That's fine, although at your leasure I would appreciate it if you would convert it to your profile. That way I'll be able to reference it no matter where I am or what device I'm on. But for now, yeah, a .pdf would be fine.

Semenya is waiting in the wings in case you need another Arcanist. Jeremy, feel free to have her in the background somewhere in one of her guises, in case you need to introduce her.
If your coworker hasn't seen the APG, have him look at the Ironhide feat, which gives a natural armor bonus to AC.
Barbarians love bonuses to AC. It's probably not worth giving up Power Attack as the 1st level feat, but it's better than Dodge at 3rd (it still works when you're tied up), and relies on a CON of 13, which Barbarians tend to have.
(It arguably also opens the door to taking the Improved Natural Armor feats from the Bestiary.)
Kael, Son of Seas |
Ok, character sheet is finished and has been emailed. In my spare time, I will endeavor to fill in my profile. Also, I need to let you know right now that from approx October 8th - October 18th I will be absent. I'm getting married on the 10th, and then my wife and I are going to cancun for our honeymoon, so as much as I love Pathfinder, I think I will give it a rest during that time ;)
