Wall of Force, Wall of Ice

3.5/d20/OGL

A couple of questions re: wall of force (and wall of ice) in 3.5.

1) Does a wall of force or wall of ice have to be a straight line, or can you create corners with it (e.g. make it L-shaped, a box, etc)?

2) Can wall of force be created anywhere? Unlike the other wall spells, it doesn't say it needs to be anchored - can you create a 100' long, 10' high wall floating 20' in the air?

Thanks for any input!

1) It has to be a "plane" (Wall of Ice) or a "flat, vertical plane" (Wall of Force). A plane generally doesn't have bends or corners.

2) I guess so.

Ayup! And because of that it's resulted in one of the most memorable dragon kills on these forums!

I'd say DM call on the floating in air wall of force, for me and my group if you want to shape the walls beyond normal then take the sculpt spell feat and my DM lets you shape walls as you please.
