Eidolon evolution?

Rules Questions

I want to know a thing about eidolon. Does it gain each level 3-4-5 points for its evolution, or we have to make the difference between the number of point gain on the level 1 and the level 2 to know how much evolution points you gain? I ask that because for high eidolon, quickly, it will have more evolution point than the evolution possiblities.

The number of evolution points in the table is the total number of points an eidolon has. You get to rearrange them at every new level.

OK, so at level 9, the eidolon has only 13 points to use for its evolution. Thanks a lot!

Check the APG. One of the alternate favored class bonuses (for gnomes, I believe), is that they can add 1/4 to their evolution pool every level so that at level 9 the Eidolon would have 15.25 instead of 13. (I read that as .25 points, not 1/4 of their total pool.) THis can be especially handy if you want to use some of the evolution points for yourself (which is one of the evolutions).

I think that's half elves. Yea, at 8th level you can have 2 extra evolution points, and then a .25 doing nothing. But 2 extra is a good deal.

So at every new level, you get to completely redesign the eidolon & its evolutions?

I'm trying to sort this out b/c one of my players wants to play a summoner, & I'm not familiar with the class (never played 3.5). My big concern is the player is my 8-yr old son, & I can see this rebuilding getting out of hand quickly....

Almost. The base form is fixed unless you're an evolutionist. Or maybe there's a spell or something that I've overlooked. Feats and skills are also set, so that may limit the extent to which you remake your eidolon. But yes, every level you can reallocate all of the eidolon's evolution points. You can also do it between levels with the transmogrify spell and some gold.

Edit: Wow. Way to necro, synjon.

Necro??

Necro. As in, cast animate dead on the corpse of a 20-month-old thread. : D

Just realized what I did, many apologies. Was browsing threads related to eidolons, & didn't notice the dates. Again, sorry...

No big deal man. Some people get touchy about posting on old threads which I dont get. I mean 99% of the new threads are just rehash of an older thread or question.

As for an answer to your question. If you check out the SRD under eidolon they give example templates at the bottom for different eidolons with varied point spreads. As your boy gets more and more points he can look at some of the higher point templates and base it off that...

Once you get a few built it gets alot easier.

I've learned quite a bit from old threads, so it doesn't bug me at all. Animate away!

Hadn't noticed that yet, thanks! Very helpful!!
