I was looking at one of the preview PDFs for Eclipse Phase and they have a really nice option to turn off the various layers of their PDFs. If Paizo could do something similar I would be very impressed (I DM from an older tablet and it's sometimes slow going browsing through the PDFs).

Raging Swan Press offer mobile-device optimised PDFs as part of our Dual Format PDF initiative. Most of our products are now Dual Format and we include these as a free added extra in a product's standard download. Often the optimised file verions is only 1/10th the size of the normal print version and thus there is almost no rendering lag time.

Dual Format PDFs are clearly labelled as such at our web page.

I'm enjoying the heck out of my Nook color which has a built-in pdf reader allowing me to read all my Paizo books.

Except there's a weird display glitch that stems from all the graphics. The text is fine and the page background is fine, but very often the text will be obscured by a big black block or an image will be skewed out of place. Sidebars will be completely filled in and decorative marks will appear over what they're supposed to be behind.

I've a multi-step workaround that, ultimately, flattens the image to look like what it's supposed to look like. In effect, rather than being a page made up of a bunch of text, images, and watermarks, it's more like a single photo of what the page looks like all together. When the Nook doesn't have to actually render and stack all the images, it's perfect.

Is there a way to produce a version of your pdfs "pre-flattened"?

There are a lot of PDFs that I'd have bought by now if they worked on tablets.

The same is true of the guys I game with too.

Send me a non-copy protected pdf of something that I've already bought and I'll send it back to you with step by step instructions complete with screen captures of how to make it tablet friendly using acrobat pro and/or adobe illustrator.

If you don't have either one of those then I can do it for you and you can just let me keep what I fix.

Any progress on the mobile optimized pdfs? It is part of Adobe's offering? you could keep them secure and then mobile optimize them??? Just wondering..

I hate to wake up an almost two year old thread, but was wondering if Paizo had made any plans to release mobile optimized pdfs? I love the graphics in the books, but I'd be more than okay with low quality graphics on my tablet, or even no graphics, though that may be awkward layout wise since a lot of the graphics hug text. I'm fine using pfd20srd.com's pdfs, but it would be nice to have a mobile download option for the pdfs that I purchase off of here since I primarily gm from a tablet.

Currently we do have an option that is more optimized for all of our hardcover books. You can find our post about it here (although, the list in that post doesn't include hardcovers released since then, but those hardcovers *do* have them).
