Depends entirely on who you ask. She was certainly not the least evil, though... she was among the worst of the lot.

You mentioned arcanists were unheard of in Thassilon. Are they a recent development in terms of Golarion's history? Or would ancient kingdoms like Osirion and stuff known of them.

And speaking of Osirion, what kind of spellcaster WAS Nethys as a mortal?

I'm not implying anything. I'm saying that the old insult, "You throw like a girl" or its endless variations of "You are a man but I will call you a woman because I believe that lessens you," is mysogynstic, and I don't find that kind of "humor" funny.

I'm not implying that you DO think it's funny, or that you created the "joke" about Justin Bieber at all. Doesn't change the fact that I don't find it funny and in fact kinda find it to be offensive.

In any event I feel I've explained myself sufficiently. No need to keep this particular line of words going.

1)not even slightly different ( in clothing, hair color or gender) just generic copies

2)why

1) In the end, it's up to the GM, but in my opinon, not even slightly different. Summon spells aren't meant to call on individuals, but idealized incarnations of a creature. An "eidolon" of that creature, if you will (using the word's real-world definition, not the summoner class definition).

2) Because that's the domain of a calling spell like planar ally, and because summon monster spells are powerful and versatile and part of what balances them is their short duration.

Rules questions should be asked on the rules forum, preferably in a forum for the book in which the rule in question appears, so that it can be FAQed and so others can see the response.

(Also... I have no idea where the Guarded Life rage power is from in the first place, or the "invuln rager 10" for that matter... it's best to cite rules sources from books for questions like this one.)

Both are in the Advanced Player's Guide.

Guarded Life
Invulnerable Rager

I think the issue is how the two interact because of the DR of the Barbarian. At 10th level, he has DR 5/- which is doubled to DR 10/- against non-lethal damage. If he were at 5 HP and hit for 15 points of damage, DR reduces the lethal damage to 10 damage, which would trigger Guarded Life, which would switch the 10 lethal damage to nonlethal.

The question, I suspect, is whether or not that 10 nonlethal damage is then negated by the DR 10/- the barbarian has against nonlethal.

Sounds like an issue for the Rules forum to me! ;)

We never nail down what hands any characters favor, because often art gets flipped to make things fit pages better, and the art staff has better things to do than check with us on handedness, and we have better things to do than to keep a full list of every single character's handedness. That's a level of detail we're not interested in tracking, and since the game itself doesn't care about handedness, we don't have to.

And yes. Sarenrae was an empyreal lord who became a deity. Asmodeus was an archdevil who became a deity. Etc.

It happens now and then all the time but rarely.

Aboleths are atheists, and don't become deities. They can become powerful, but they aren't interested in matters of faith, and therefore would never become a god.

very literal answer, thanks.

So the flipping of the iconics' handedness is done merely as a matter of layout. Explains some observations (such as Aroden being righthanded in Mythic Realms ). Somehow I had always tought of Aroden as your very personal project (I guess he is, but with a focus on other details ). Possibly overthinking on my part.

As for B ) I should have added : Any non-human (mortals) aspiring or having aspired to deityhood ? While satisfying, only humans (and some powerful immortal/divine beings) having achieved dietyhood.. felt odd.

As Asmodeus likes to claim he is the second oldest entity around, I would have expected him to be the "ancestral" diety of devils, the fount from which the devils sprung ? Is this a mistaken assumption ?

Any chance for major undead going down the mythic path (Ta Baphon seems to have been ighly mythic before his "death" by Aroden ? ) or are undead incapable to advance beyond their lifeless (if eternal) state ?

Damage reduction applies before the damage hits your hit points. That's why it's called damage reduction—it reduces the damage you take.

If you are at 5 hp and are hit for 15 points of damage and have DR 5/—, you take 10 points of damage.

If you are at 5 hp and are hit for 15 points of damage and have DR 5/— (but DR 10/— against nonlethal), the end result is the same. You take 10 points of damage, since the DR 10/— doesn't apply in that case since you were hit by lethal damage, not nonlethal damage.

If you were at 5 hp and took 15 points of damage and had DR 5/—, then you take 10 points of damage. This brings you, normally, to -5 hp... but if you have guarded life, then 5 points of damage are converted to nonlethal. That's not NEW damage that you're taking, though—it's damage you have and thus it isn't further blocked by any DR you have against nonlethal damage.

But it's certainly a good contender for a FAQ, since it's definitely a complex corner case.

Aroden isn't my "personal project" at all. If he's anyone's "personal project," he'd be Erik Mona's. I am quite content to leave him in the history of the setting and focus on anything/everything else. (And do you mean "Aroden is right-handed in Mythic Realms" because we said so in print? Or simply because he has a sword in his right hand in an illustration? I don't think we've EVER said in print if ANY character is right or left-handed, frankly...).

Asmodeus is very likely the oldest/first devil, but he is not the "font" from which all devils sprang.

Undead can gain mythic paths. Due to a rules wrinkle, though, once a creature takes a mythic path, it can't gain mythic templates or vice-versa. So, if you're making a lich, you can either give the lich a mythic path like archmage or hierophant or trickster or whatever, OR you can give it the mythic lich template. You can't do both.

It's been said that every time someone mentions Dervish Dance (the feat), you kill a Goblin. Is this true?

For context, it was said in the Swashbuckler thread in that Swashbucklers are going to be pidgeonholed into Dervish Dance because it's the best method for getting Dex to damage. Largely because it can be done by 3rd level, while the Agile weapon property requires roughly 6th level.

The HD version of the game will be out in March 2014 for the PS3. It will contain both FFX and FFX-2 and it will be the international versions of the games.

More practical question. If a party is trying to persuade someone using Diplomacy or something, and the party's "face" person (one with the highest CHA and stuff) doesn't speak the target's language, but someone else in the party DOES and translates for the "face," do you utilize the "face's" modifier to the roll or that of the person translating? Assume spells like tongues are unavailable for the purposes of this scenario.

Now that Blood of the Moon is out, which card(s) in the Harrow Deck would represent shapeshifting, either as a general atmosphere surrounding a reading, and/or a person who is a shapeshifter? It's easy enough with the tarot, but the Harrow Deck isn't quite so specific.

Nope. Not at all. I invented Dervish Dance. I'm delighted to see it get used and talked about.

I know it's not a core book feat... but I really think the swashbuckler needs a Dex to damage option so that it's not a feat that people will obsess over for them.

The best case senario there is that the high Diplomacy character MIGHT be able to aid another the character who's actually making the check.

Numerous cards could represent shapeshifting, depending on how you want to read the card. The Courtesan comes to mind as an obvious choice, as does the Rabbit Prince and the Waxworks and whatever one it was that had the lamia matirarch on it.

Here's my thought. I make a big separation between characters and classes.

Characters are the primary elements of storytelling and roleplay.

Class builds are how we interpret them for the purposes of game mechanics. It's quite possible to build multiple interpretations of the same character, Seelah as a warpriest would not have to be that much different from Seelah as a Paladin. {Although her player might have to worry less about her fellow players, or GM looking to press her self-destruct buttons)

Seltyiel for instance was once he iconic fighter/wizard/eldritch knight, now his default representation is that of the iconic magus, but that does not invalidate the earlier build as a way to tell the story of the character. It does enforce changes in that story's excecution. Particular bits might change, but the essential essence of the character can still be expressed.
