Is there a Paizo product you wish could be created, but can't do to budget/technological reasons (e.g., boxed sets, monthly mags, etc.)? If so, what is it?

Dark Archive

Any particular APs, mods, PFS scenarios you'd recommend for aspiring game writers to review to learn what Paizo's lookin' for? (Top three, so to speak.)

What do you think are the three major theme differences between Golarion and Greyhawk (which has been acknowledge as the inspiration to Golarion)?

Which freelancer, whom you worked with virtually (ala Internet, telephone, etc.) turned out to be quite different from your expectations after you met them the first time in person.

Become very frustrated. This actually happened in the playtest of "Crypt of the Everflame," when she got attacked by skeletons (AKA Jason Bulmahn's favorite monster) and then later by bats. In the case of the skeletons, she eventually triumphed, but the bats freaked her out and she ran and hid.

Do you handle the Pathfinder Society scenarios? Or are they strictly Josh's responsibility?

I approve some of the adventures and (increasingly) help with the meta plots and big events. I believe my involvement with PFS will be increasing at some point in the future, in any case; they need to be more fully integrated into the rest of what they do.

Do you have a favorite monster you like to inflict on PCs? If so, what is it?

Who came up with RPG Superstar?

I think it was either Lisa or Erik after one of them saw too many episodes of that TV show. You know the one.

Have any of the published adventures based from your and/or a Paizo staffer's campaign?

Curse of the Crimson Throne and Serpent's Skull are both based on campaigns I ran at various times over the past several years. There's elements of other campaigns I've run spread out among the other APs as well.

The Dwarves in Bioware's "Dragon Age" game are pretty interesting.

Hmmm... I'm not sure. We don't have an obvious shortie like we have an obvious giant.

"Unspeakable Futures." My post-apocalyptic RPG. It might happen some day, but for now expanding into other genres is kinda not on the table.

Curse of the Crimson Throne, the upcoming World Guide: The Inner Sea, and Kingmaker.

Golarion has a better representation of ethnicities among its humans.

Golarion doesn't have an obvious "center" or ground zero where things start, whereas Greyhawk does with Greyhawk city.

Golarion is a bit more blatant about its Lovecraft inspiration.

Hmm. Greg Vaughan, I suppose. He's a lot more like George Clooney than I ever would have guessed.

Is there any chance we could one day have a Pathfinder comic book centered around the Iconics??

WoW has one and it's a great way to fill in parts of the lore and the world you don't plan to handle on your own, or really allow the PCs to handle but want done in an official capacity.

There's certainly a chance of there some day being a Pathfinder comic book... but I'm not sure we'd make it star the iconics. Again... we're a bit hesitant about attaching TOO much established continuity to the iconics.

Hey James,

Is there a possiblity of bringing modrons into pathfinder? I loved those things. Lizzi's artwork with planescape and the modrons was awesome.

While one of the inevitables in the upcoming Bestiary 2 deliberately has a modron-like feel to it... actual modrons are owned by Wizards of the Coast and aren't open content, so no, they'll never be in Pathfinder.

Eventually, yes. Not immediately after, though, and probably not even soon after. Although there was a LITTLE bit of Casmaron action in Pathfinder #33.

Long pointy objects focus magic more effectively than short dull ones.

Aboleths. Derros, intellect devourers, mothmen, succubi, and Lovecraftain critters are fun too.

Could a Centaur be a Cavalier?

So you really can tell the strength of a wizard by the length of his... staff?

Sure! The GM would have to make some house rules, of course, but why not?

Have you read the World of Warcraft comics?? part of the story involves the heroes taking on Ony, which of course we all have done countless times.

Perhaps that's something that could be done, the iconics(some of them anyways) could perhaps take part in one of the APs. Kingmaker almost seems to be the flagship Adventure Path, and while i know not every player or group as gone through Kingmaker, you can include a note in the first issue that this contains "spoilers" of a sort.

While i understand the need to not attach too much established continuity to the Iconics, they seem to be well loved, at least in this thread. I think the idea of books/stories being kept separate from the images/covers/etc is the right idea. This is often done in comic books, where an artist does a rendition of a hero or villain that's not the current norm, doesn't translate into the comics or other stories.

Do you use morale checks in the games you GM?

I haven't read the Warcraft comics. If we did a line of comics for Pathifnder though, we'd do so in a similar manner to how we're doing our novels; we'd come up with new storylines that don't shake the foundations of the world.

Nope. I just decide when or if the bad guys want to give up or flee or whatever based on the situation at hand.

Paizo employees are already monsters. They just look like humans during the day, and/or without being viewed through the special sunglasses.

Do you have a plan for dealing with Rowdy Roddy Piper if/when he shows up to bodyslam you all, and if so what is it?

I imagine it has something to do with carrying copious amounts of bubblegum.

1. What would your theme song be?

2. Who is funnier: Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, or Seth Rogen?

3. What is your favorite Kevin Smith movie?

4. Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?

How many goblins and typewriters do you need to write shakespeare?

Wouldn't the goblins just set the typewriters on fire to keep the from stealing their souls?

And speaking of souls, got a favourite Aretha Franklin song?

So apparently not only is the PF Campaign Setting book not available through Paizo, but on amazon its $75+. Any plans to do a second printing(with or without errata)?? Sucks kinda hard that I can only get the pdf, or pay out the ass

There are no plans for another printing of the Pathfinder Campaign Setting. Instead, Paizo is releasing the following in February 2011.

3. Clerks.

Yes. We're revising the Pathfinder Campaign Setting hardcover right now. It should be available in February. Other folks have given the links already so I can be lazy.

I agree that it sucks kinda hard that it's not currently in print, but it will be soon.
