1)In the as of yet anounce product later this year that will have the male and female Lashunta's stats, will we see the races from the other planets as well?

2)If so will any of them be playable(0HD) like the Lashunta? I hope the Lashunta will have a racial bonus to cha and the males a penalty to cha.

3)Will you guys ever do stats for creatures with the animal type that are not real world animals?

4)Will we ever find out who/what created those vaults in the darklands? Is it safe to assume that is was nether the aboleth or elder things?

5)Will we ever see new skills or at least new knowledge skills?

6)How would you feal about consumable/one use magic items that grant permenant bonus feats(max 5), extra skill points, languages known?

7)Have you seen John Carter yet? If so did you like it?

In regards to Aura of Chaos as a PC using this effect is there anything preventing an enemy who wants to attack from choosing move action and then voluntarily giving up a saving throw?

Does the enemy know exactly what the effect is and what will happen if he Makes/Fails the save?

If one were to combine this aura with touch of chaos or Misfortune hex what would be the less favorable/worst result?

Did the GM agree to play fairly? I meant to check back on that thread.

James, there is some mission in Skyrim that you haven't completed because you did feel it was against your character concept?
Yup. My character concept was that I was a refugee from the south, an Imperial who spent much of her last few years being a thief and smuggler until she was nearly caught. She fled north to escape imprisonment and/or execution by the Imperial guards, only to get caught just as she crossed the border into Skyrim. As a result... she ended up siding with the Stormcloaks against the Empire when the time came, so I didn't do any of the civil war quests for those other jerks!

I am in the an imperial camp, the Stormcloaks are too similar to our separatist groups to be palatable to me. ;)

My question was mostly about some of the daedric quests and the Thieves guild quests.
My character is more than willing to skirt the law, but extorting money from poor people is something that I don't like and some of the daedric quests are unacceptable.
When I get the Dark brotherood quest at least I can chose to side with them or against them, but I was struck with Molag Bal rusted mace for a long time, until I discovered I can leave it in a weapon rack.
To maul someone into submission is not something I will appreciate to do. Especially when it is done for the "joy" of mauling him into submission, not to get a goal that I will want to accomplish.

I would really like an option to say (from a safe distance) "Up yours!" to those quests and not have to keep them in my log. Failing them is not a problem. (I willingly failed the "A Chance Arrangement" simply to remove it and did the basic Thieves guild quests simply to get a chance to remove the strange gems from my inventory.

An interesting question that cam out of another thread:
It is possible to Dismiss a potion effect?
And from that question descent the same question for other magic item spell effects, so:
It is possible to dismiss a wand effect?
A scroll effect?

My tentative replies are:
- potion: no, it is not possible to dismiss the effect.
- wand/staff: I am in favour to say: yes if you could cast the spell yourself (it is in your spell list); no if you have to use UMD to use the want
- scroll: yes. If you need to use UMD to activate the scroll, but if you need to use UMD to activate the scroll you need to use UMD to dismiss the spell.

Potion: No.

Wand/Staff/Wand: Yes, if the spell is dismissible. Otherwise, no.

5) No.

I´m all for playable Lashunta, that means Lashunta both male and female as a PC race! Or even better, a Lashunta setting! Incredible!

1)Could any of the races from the other planets be playable races like the ones from Akiton, Triaxus, Verces, etc.?

2)I mean, are there any animals that are Golarion specific(or from the other planets) that not based on real world animals or mythology?

3)Have you seen any new movies lately then? if so did you like them?

4)Is there a limit to how many potions you can benefit from in any given time?

5)Would you use knowledge nature for astronomy then?

6)Have you ever seen the movies "Witches", "The Witches of Eastwick", "High Spirits", or "Haunted Honymoon"?

7)What is your favorite holiday? if you have one, then why is it your favorite?

1) Whether or not a race is a "playable PC race" is only a question your GM can answer. The most we'll do is say "This race has zero HD and is thus suitable as a PC race if your GM is okay with that." There ARE zero HD races out there on other planets, in any event.

2) Depends on what you mean "based on real-world animals." Would a swamp barracuda count? The thing is that Earth is VERY biodiverse, and any new "animal" we come up with will, by definition of what an animal is in Pathifnder, be close to an earth analogue. Since if it's not, it starts being a vermin or magical beast or aberration.

3) "Chronicle" was the last movie I saw in the theater, and I quite liked it. I'm hoping to see "John Carter" and "Silent House" soon... but work is unusually busy for the moment...

4) Nope.

5) Yes.

6) No, Yes, No, No.

7) Halloween. Because there's more horror movies to see at that point.

Vital Strike:

Vital Strike (Combat)
You make a single attack that deals significantly more damage than normal.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +6.
Benefit: When you use the attack action, you can make one attack at your highest base attack bonus that deals additional damage. Roll the weapon's damage dice for the attack twice and add the results together before adding bonuses from Strength, weapon abilities (such as flaming), precision based damage, and other damage bonuses. These extra weapon damage dice are not multiplied on a critical hit, but are added to the total.

Improved Called Shot:

Improved Called Shot: You are skilled at landing blows right where you want to.

Prerequisites: Int 13, Combat Expertise.

Benefit: You receive a +2 bonus on attack rolls when making a called shot. When taking a full-round or standard action that gives you multiple attacks, you can replace a single attack with a called shot. You may only attempt one called shot per round.

Normal: You can make one called shot per round as a standard action.

Greater Called Shot:

Greater Called Shot: You can make multiple called shots where others could land but one.

Prerequisites: Int 13, Combat Expertise, Improved Called Shot, base attack bonus +6.

Benefit: Whenever you make an attack, you can choose to replace that attack with a called shot. You can make multiple called shots in a single round. Each additional called shot after the first made in the same round takes a –5 penalty. In addition, a called shot that deals half the creature's hit points of damage (minimum 40) is a debilitating blow.

Normal: You can make only one called shot in a round as a standard action. A called shot that deals 50 points of damage is a debilitating blow.

It's possible apply some of the 'called shot feats' in conjunction with 'vital strike feat'?

Unfortunately, I had seen this post and really do not come to any official response on the subject ...

Personally, I came to the conclusion that it would be possible to use such feats in conjunction.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Modules, Roleplaying Game Subscriber

When I say playable races, I mean 0HD races, as far as I am concerned there are very few 0HD races I wouldn't allow a person tp play. There might be exceptions because of specific campaign settings.

I mean is it safe to assume that the human-like races from Akiton, Verces, Triaxus would be 0HD races? I also remember that is was stated that none of these races are actually human, is this true? So if they are not human there stats would be different.

Are Humans, Half-elves, and Half orcs the only 0HD race for Pathfinder that have the "+2 to any one stat" racial mods?

Anything is possible. Try it out in your game, and if it's too over the top, make it so they don't work together. That's what I'd do.

Until we actaully design those races... no. Whether or not we make them zero HD races or otherwise depends on a LOT of variables.

At this point, yeah, those three are the only ones with a +2 to any one stat mod.

All the time. Last year, I used Keep on the Borderlands, and I'm currently running Necropolis.

My favorite Gygax modules are probably Vault of the Drow, Tomb of Horrors, and Expedition to the Barrier Peaks.

James, I have an idea for a series of haunts:

During the early days of the colonialism of the New World, it was said that, far in the northwest, there lay an artifact of great power that would allow any ruler to bend any individual to her will. This tale was in fact false, and no such artifact existed, but the colonists did not know this. Eager to possess the artifact, the leaders of two rival colonial empires sent massive expeditions westward to find it and bring it back to them. These expeditions took different routes, but eventually encountered each other. With spirits filled with patriotism, the two expeditions fought each other for the right to bring back the non-existant artifact. Neither side was willing to give way, and the death toll was massive on both sides, with the two expeditions being completely shattered, and the survivors were soon done in by the freezing weather and a lack of supplies. Now, the site of the battle is a haunt, inhabited by the souls of all the soldiers and explorers who lost their lives fighting a futile battle over something that never existed.

Do you like it?

If you were me, what RP hooks would you use to get the players to journey to the haunted area?

I've said this before... and I know that folks like posting their campaign/story ideas here in an attempt to get feedback from me... but!

I don't give feedback on stuff like this. Not only do I not want to inevitably start showing favoritism when I might answer one person's post with a giant reply and another's with a short "Nah, don't like it!" post... but I don't really relish the thought of turning this thread into "Get James Jacobs to do his job in this thread, rather than just answer questions."

There's a further wrinkle as well, in that there are some pretty compelling legal reasons why it's not a good idea for a professional to give advice like this, be it on an RPG idea or a novel idea or a movie script idea.

So... sorry, but I can't answer this question. That said, posting ideas like this elsewhere on these boards is BOUND to get lots of great feedback from other posters on the boards.

So can you guys write a nice adventure path where all the gnomes get wiped out, and the world is a happier place for it? And then we could maybe get a better race as a replacement in the core rulebooks? :)

James Jacobs... you're my only hope!

I've tried to get input on the Plague Bomb (Ultimate Magic Alchemist Discovery) from the Rules Forum without avail. I'd like to know how you'd manage an Alchemist using Plague Bomb in your campaign.

1) Does Plague Bomb block sight like Smoke Bomb, Inferno Bomb, Stink Bomb and Poison Bomb? (I would think so...)

2a) Do creatures in the plague bomb smoke area act if they are affected by contagion each round? Or a specific Disease chosen by the Alchemist at the time of throwing?

2b) What I'm asking is if the alchemist sets the Plague bomb to "the Shakes" and creatures in the smoke save vs "the Shakes" for the entirety of the duration or each round would/could the alchemist choose a new disease for them to be afflicted by (the Shakes this round, Blinding Sickness the next)?

Thanks for being so active around the forums! I certainly enjoy your products.

I'm sure someone, somewhere can. The world is filled with creative folks.

But since I'm actually quite a fan of gnomes... you won't see them going away at all. There's a MUCH better chance of the fate you request happening to dwarves than any other race, in fact...

...and even dwarves are probably safe, since their fans tend to be loud and scary.

1) A plague bomb is an advanced version of the smoke bomb; it affects vision exactly the same as does a smoke bomb.

2a) The exact disease a plague bomb causes should remain constant across all victims.

2b) Nope. The alchemist would have to throw a new plague bomb if he wanted to have one do blinding sickness.

James Jacobs,
A few questions:
1. Are there plans to give stats for the Kalo, Lashunta, and other alien humanoids?
2. What are some good monsters for an adventure in Nex?
3. Will the Mokele-Mbembe appear in a bestiary?

James, does Golarion have a Blue Hole?

Was it created by aliens with a big laser like the real world one appears to be? (I refuse to believe there are stalactites under water, looks more like the rock that melted and dribbled due to the intensity of the laser to me....)

Do you think this is the inspiration for the Silver Surfer's effect?

It show that you have little experience with caverns.

It all depend on the concentration of calcium bicarbonate in the water.
I have seen plenty of stalagmites in water pools in caves.
I don't do subaqueous spelunking, so I don't have direct experience with stalactites in constantly submerged caves, but I have seen enough photographies of them to know that they exist.

That´s actually all mentioned in the wikipedia article.
Underwater stalactites are probably there when a cavern was flooded at some time, but the stalactites were there before the flooding. Stalactites are created through drippling water that leaves sediments. It would surprise me if that functions underwater. The Blue Hole caves and sidearms were created through something like acid melting away the stone, like mentioned in the article Nevynxxx linked.

This would indeed be a nice location for any kind of underwater adventure or pirate adventure. Perhaps Aboleths living there or something else.

Or actually a very big one is under the eye of Abendego and the eye itself is kind of a portal, where alien forces are falling into GOlarion, slowly trying to change its nature and untill then dwelling under the sea, mumbling strange and horrific magic rituals to keep the eye rotating untill the world it theirs.

Some heroes need to go there and stop them.

Absolutely. In fact, since part of the myth is that luscas live in blue holes, and we have luscas in our game (see the upcoming "Isles of the Shackles") I'm prepared to say there are PLENTY of blue holes in Golarion. But particularly in the Shackles.

Hey, I dove that Blue Hole! No luscas but plenty of sharks and barracuda. Also, at the time, every dive group had to have a dive master on "suicide watch", apprently it was a popular place for suicides at the time.

1)Would Freedom of Movement protect you from slugspawn(AP#46) getting in/on you?

2)What is a "luscas"?

3)How likely is it that we will find out what races from Golarion are found on the other planets or even from one of those planets? Also how commen it is to find them? Ex:Catfolk on Castrovel, Fetchlings on the darkside of Verces, etc.

4)Given the fertile world of Castrovel, what are the odds of a connection to the first world or positive energy plane?

5)Can Aasimars and Tieflings look like other races other then human? If they are found on other planets wouldn't they more resemble that race since the mortal parents are different race then human?

6)Have you seen "The Lost World"(1920's), "The Bat"(1950's), "Key Largo", or the "Crater Lake Monster"?

7)Favorite Elder God? Favorite Old One?

So I think I have come up with a suitable alternative to awful awful gnomes. When the Advanced Race guide comes out I will recreate kobolds as a core race and then in my game lore of Golarion gnomes did exist at one time but there seperation from the first world drove them mad and they all eventually transformed into spriggans. What do you think?

Reading over the Ruby Phoenix Tournament I noticed that material from Ultimate Combat was used (a book I don't have) and was wondering in general how base-book friendly will the Skull and Shackles A.P. be (since the first book will be written by the same author)?

Not necessarily.

Some day, Jacobs. Some day you will slip up. You'll be sitting at a coffee shop going over your notes on Golarion secrets you'll never reveal, as one does at coffee shops. A man walks by, talking to his friend. He says, "What's your favorite dinosaur?" The friend answers, "Definitely brontosaurus." The first is surprised. "Mine's pterodactyl. Way cooler." You bite your tongue.

They reach the table of a mutual friend at the other end of the shop. You barely hear them say, "What's your take Jill?" She answers, "I'm torn. It's either triceratops or t-rex. After all, that's the ultimate battle, right? They most definitely lived at the same time and fought each other. And on a side note, Jurassic Park got the size of velociraptors exactly correct."

The sweat beads on your brow. Your heart rate is accelerated. Overcome with nerd rage, you can hold back no longer. You make a double move over to their table to correct them. After all, they probably post on their internet and we all know people on the internet must be corrected at all costs.

But before you know it, it's too late. I'm at your table and I've seen everything.

On a more thread-appropriate note, what are your thoughts on integrating accents or foreign languages at the table? For example, when the oracle in my game is forced to use celestial (or chooses to), he begins speaking in Latin. In the Ravenloft game I just started playing in, I'm from the French-inspired region so I'm trying to slip in some simple French phrases for flavor.
