How usable for sex are the servants of a mage's magnificent mansion?

If "not much" or "not at all," what can be done to remedy that?

Besides being able to feed a lot of people (at least 132 people/day, more with a higher level caster and less courses per person), does a mage's magnificent mansion come with baths or toilets?

With all the new books that have interesting and thematically appropriate spells, feats etc. that have been released recently, would it be an idea to revisit sorcerer Bloodline Spells and Feats to give Bloodline Abilities with more flavor?
i.e. Disable or Awaken Construct, or Memory of Function for Impossible Sorcerer?

(or the new Transmute Golem in Arcane Anthology, although you may lose Wish as a result...)

I'm sure there are other bloodlines that would benefit as well; it's the Impossible one that came to mind as I've played one recently, and then all the new construct-based spells came in and seemed a better fit...

I saw another possibility to give a choice of one of two spells at each Bloodline Spell level, to have more flexibility as to the direction you want your Bloodline to go (Offensive/Defensive/Utility)... so in the example of the above bloodline, depending on if you want to Make/Repair/Upgrade Constructs or Disable/Control them?

What sort of naming conventions would demons have, particularly with unique demons?

What is your favorite "Real-World Meets Fantasy" story? As in, one where an otherwise previously mundane earth is changed by the introduction of magical/monstrous/alien/horror elements?

My most recent one is the anime G.A.T.E.

Subtle brainwashing. ;)

How's your weekend so far, mr Jacobs?

Good so far. Had the last personal trainer session at the gym this morning, got freelance for Pathfinder #111 done, watched the Golden State Warriors keep their home game streak just barely, played some Dark Souls II and some Until Dawn and some Bloodborne, and now thinking about heading to bed soon. Tomorrow we'll be going to see "Hail Caesar" at the fancy theater so that's gonna be fun!

Ooo, have you played any of the Lost Crowns Trilogy for Dark Souls II?

What do you think of Until Dawn?

What's your progress in Bloodborne now?

How do you feel about Miyazki changing his statement on Dark Souls III from it being a turning point in the series, to being the series finale?

Yup. I have. Haven't finished it 100%, but maybe 98%?

Quite enjoying Until Dawn; I'm a big fan of Larry Fessenden movies though, so that's no shock there.

I've finished the game once, and just reached the Lecture Hall on New Game, and have all but 2 bosses down in the DLC.

I'm fine with it being the last in the series, as long as they continue to do games in that same vein, like Bloodborne and perhaps new games in new settings.

Not at all, really. Chat with your GM about your character researching a variant of the spell.

The mansion has services for bathing and bathrooms. Probably chamber pots for the latter. That type of minutiae is not something we tend to feel a need to dwell on though, as with pretty much every kind of entertainment, unless the poop and pee is a part of the storyline. Which it pretty much never is in a Pathfinder game.

Nope. I'd rather not get on the forever-running treadmill of constantly updating flavor for everything. I'd rather explore new content. Actually, personally? I'd rather explore world content and story content. All of that is MUCH more interesting to me than yet another stack of player options.

Depends entirely on the demon. We've named plenty of them; Demons Revisited has a lot of names to check out. My personal preference on demon name styles is pretty much on full display there; they should have spooky names that don't sound like word salads but evoke a sense of history to them. Names with components you see in ancient real world myths are excellent.

As I mentioned a bit ago on this thread, this genre of fantasy is probably my least favorite genre. When I do like it, the "real world meets fantasy" tropes are more properly classified as horror, or perhaps science fiction, not fantasy. I can't think of any examples off the top of my head that scream to be something I'd count as a favorite, since even the ones that DO mix modern Earth and fantasy that I do like, say, like "Big Trouble in Little China," aren't about the "introduction of magical." In that movie, it's news to Jack Burton, but it's not news to the world. Magic has always been a part of that world, and that's the difference, I think, between the style of modern fantasy I enjoy and the style I do not.

in your opinion what should a anti paladin do if he dosent want to upgrade his summoned monster minion if he doesn't want it to become useless(he really likes his roleplay with his dretch and doesn't want it to end just because he can get a upgrade). ps since the anti paladins fiendish servent counts as summon monster can it be dispelled if so does that activate the 30 days of no servant and -1 on attacks and damage?

Consider his poor choice in character class for the type of character he wanted to play, and ask his GM if he can rebuild the character as a warpriest or cleric or summoner instead of antipaladin.

From Dark Souls II what did you think of the expansions in comparison to the core game?

Don't know far you gotten into UD so to make the question vague and unspoilerish what do you think of the antagonistic force?

Quite liked them but thought the snowy blizzard region of the third one was a bit too much and never finished it.

Just finished Until Dawn yesterday. I LOVED the antagonist, but also fully expected it since Larry Fessenden wrote the game.

Lady Maria was a fun fight. And she has good taste in clothes; that outfit is GREAT for fighting the giant fleas.

Hmmm...

Spoiler:
I enjoyed the technical artistry of the sailor dance scene, but that type of content is pretty much at the very top of my LEAST favorite type of filmed entertainment. I was able to stomach it in this context because of its historical value and because of the technical skill in pulling it off, but it was probably my least favorite part of the movie.

My favorite part was probably Francis McDormand's editing scene or Scarlet Johansen's entrance or the scene where Ralph Feines was directing what'shisname the cowboy.

Brume Tower was a lot of fun! The Fume Knight fight in particular was a memorably tough one for me.

You should definately check out Larry Fessenden's movies based on those creatures then...

Spoiler:
First one is called "Wendigo" and the next one is "The Last Winter." Both are good movies, but "The Last Winter" is, I think, one of the best movies he's been involved in; it was my favorite movie of the year it came out and I got to see it at SIFF.

Very interesting as well. I really like how the souls games tell backstory in a "Show don't tell" sort of way taken to the extreme.

Possible Dragon Age Inquisition Spoilers:

Spoiler:
What's your opinion of Solas? The general impression I get is that BioWare ruined his character twice, first by making him white and bald rather than his initial concept art with dark skin and dreadlocks, and secondly by him being casually racist even to other elves (But ESPECIALLY to Qunari through his little "Qunari are savage creatures, their inherent brutality kept in check by the Qun" speech that I think the average Qunari Inquisitor'd have every right to be offended by) throughout the game until Tresspasser comes along and he reveals he's responsible for the messed-up state of the world in Thedas and he's set on committing genocide, and that the worst part is there are fans willing to excuse all of this solely for the Solavellan romantic plot.

I thought ...

Spoiler:
... that Solas was the least friendly and most obnoxious and unlikable character of ALL the NPC allies in Inquisition. And I was fine with that. I actually LIKE having some NPCs be characters that I don't like, because that helps me not agonize over which of the three I choose to adventure with, and also gives me an NPC to do antagonistic conversation topics when they do come up. That's valuable, and it's more interesting to play a character who isn't friends with everyone, because that doesn't work in real life. Some of the people who you end up working with simply cannot be your friends, and being able to put those differences aside and getting the job done is a whole new challenge.

Furthermore, with how Solas's character ended up at the end of the game and the DLC, it MADE SENSE to me why he was the way he was; setting him up as what appears to be the big bad guy of the next Dragon Age game was a stroke of brilliance, I think. I don't think that him being "white and bald" ruins anything about him, since there's SO much diversity among the NPC allies you can choose from, including skin color and hair style. Furthermore, having him be casually racist helped to give his character some depth, and as it turns out, helped me to not like his character, which as I state above is valuable. Not everyone should be great.

Dear Mr. Jacobs,

1: I am currently developing a campaign that is essentially World War Golarion. Tensions finally erupt between Cheliax and Andoran, and the two nations are in all-out war. Now, my question is: which other nations would side with the two, and which ones would stay neutral?

2: For a different campaign that I am playing in, I've created a multiclass Dark Tapestry Oracle/Unchained Summoner for a character who attempted to summon a creature from the Dark Tapestry. She succeeded, but not before paying a terrible price, and becoming forever bound to the creature. So, which outsider type would work best for the creature?

1) In fact, there's an article coming in Hell's Vengenace that explores some of this. The short version is that most nations would side against Cheliax, but that doesn't mean they'd side with Andoran. Cheliax is potentially the most powerful nation in the Inner Sea, in any event, so them being surrounded by various enemies would be a pretty "fair" fight overall.

2) No outsider makes real sense at all. The Dark Tapestry is a Material Plane region, and as such isn't really associated with outsiders at all.

Mr. James Jacobs,

I know you focus on world content more than mechanics, but would you know to whom or where I can post a request to have the Harrowed Medium* put on your list of content to be produced?

*= A version of the Medium class more like the Medium during the playtest.

Is it culturally expected that Pharasman officials oversee the rites of the dead of all denominations in most civilized cultures, or do faiths typically look after their own in spite of the knowledge that all stand before Pharasma for judgment?

As a general rule, things that get left behind in a playtest end up staying there, having been left behind for a reason. The harrow version of the Medium is an interesting idea, but there's two reasons it doesn't belong in a hardcover—it uses too much world flavor (and removing world flavor from the Harrow to make it work is kind of a no-go as far as I'm concerned), and it's far too overly complex with so many options. It's too big for its own good. As such, it's unlikely to really ever be published. I know Mark is really proud of it though, and maybe someday we'll figure out how to get it out there... but it's not high on the list at all at the moment.

Faiths generally look after their own dead. Pharasma is the judge, but the souls still go on to final resting place among all the gods, and thus it's still important for the faiths to honor them.

Do you think that after a thread like this runs for 10, 20, 50 years and that artificial intelligence development continues for an equal amount of time, a thread like this can eventually be used to develop a reasonable AI replicating the person's behavior? I understand that many of the nations in Golarion are influenced by real life countries in their design.

Is Hermea loosely based on real-life Singapore?
Both are a small island nation
Both have their current governments started by a founding leader. (Mengkare/Mr Lee Kuan Yew)
Hermea's flag depicts a gold dragon in an elongated, almost asian dragon design, and singapore's largest ethnic group happens to be Chinese.
Both have or had eugenics policies.
Both are seeking immigrants with talents.

Life in Hermea is also described as peaceful, comfortable, and progressive, the envy of the world, which kinda mirror's Singapore reputation for being safe and with a very high quality of life measurement.

Additionally, is Hermea's Glorious Endeavor a caricature of Singapore's eugenics policies of the past?
Like the Graduate Mothers Scheme? Where "the government also encouraged Singapore men to choose highly educated women as wives, establishing the Social Development Unit (SDU) that year to promote socialising among men and women graduates"

For Hermea, "the government oversees the (often lengthy) courtship process, in order to better manage the breeding program."

There are of course a large number of differences between the two, just wondering of the coincidences.

Nope; it's absolutely not. Hermea is pretty much made up 100% out of the blue. James Sutter is its primary architect, and as with ALL fantasy world creations, he likely drew inspiration from his entire lifetime of data input, but it's not based on a real-world nation. It's based on Sutter's thought experiment of "what if a dragon kept humans as pets" or thereabouts.

James, who is the best person to ask how the army statistics math works for Ultimate Campaign?

I am trying to figure how the hobgoblin army has a recruitment cost of 8, when the listed resources add up to 10.

And also if the total resource cost is added together before alterations are made due to army size, or if each resource is figured independently?

But, if they're supposed to be able to blend in with humans other than the reflective eyes and white blood, silver skin seems to be a drawback.

I was the original designer for the narrative army rules that first appeared in the 5th volume of Kingmaker, but when it was picked up for Ultimate Campaign, the design team did all the revision and expansion work. So they would be the ones to ask about it. My guess is that the recruitment cost is merely a typo.

Frankly, since an android is meant to look human, giving them a non-human skin tone goes against that goal. Androids who have silvery gray skin (or any other obviously non-human skin color) were not intended to "blend in" with human society.

I'm not really interested in creating ANY feat that basically gets summed up as "Your skin color is different, and thus you have a disadvantage." I would hope that the reasons why I'm not willing to create a trait or feat like that would be obvious.

If you want to have an android with unusual skin color, go for it! There's no inherent advantage or disadvantage to it.
