Just for clarity, James, you announced an AP for next year for Evil characters defending a town in Cheliax, and this year you're putting out the AP for characters rebelling in a town in Cheliax?
Not to put a fine point on it, but isn't that kind of retreading what Curse of the Crimson Throne does, since that AP caters easily to the LE alignment?
Not really, no.
Crimson Throne doesn't let you fight directly against Cheliax, nor does Crimson Throne focus on the building of a rebellion or on political encounters with heavy roleplay elements. Yes, there will be similarities between Crimson Throne and Hell's Rebels, but it'll be it's own campaign. It's the 17th AP we've done. There's been plenty of minor thematic overlap before and we're still going strong.
And Crimson Throne is NOT a lawful evil AP. This is, in fact, the first time I've heard anyone really consider it to be a LE friendly AP. It's going to be VERY VERY different in feel and theme to Hell's Vengeance.

Yes. A different one than the one in the APG, though. The "Hell's Vengeance" iconic antipaladin will be more world specific.

1)Will Hell's Vengeance have a lot of good aligned monsters in it's bestiaries?
2)Can you play any evil alignment in Hell's Vengeance? What about neutral alignments?
3)Will the Occult Realms book have a similar set up to Mythic Realms?
4)It's safe to assume that the cover art for Bestiary 5 is a mockup, correct?
5)I take it that Bestiary 5 will be around 15% psychic creatures, correct?
6)Is it safe to assume that B5 will have reprints from APs, campaign setting books, etc. like past books?
7)I heard something about 0HD race for darkfolk and a sasquatch-like 0HD race for B5, is it true?
1) I suspect so. More than usual. Whether or not that counts as "a lot" will depend on what you define as "a lot."
2) Yes. Any evil alignment. You could play neutral, but if you play the AP appropriately, you'll drift to evil sooner than later. The whole POINT of Hell's Vengeance is to play evil, after all, and the missions and quests and requirements your characters will be required to do will be evil acts.
3) No. Occult monsters are going into their own book. Occult Realms will have a vaguely similar organization to Mythic Realms, but won't be exact.
4) Yes. Paizocon is 2 months earlier than ever before, and that means it's way too early to show off art like that.
5) I have no idea. It's still being worked on. The definition of what makes a monster
"psychic" is going to be a LOT more fluid than what makes a monster mythic. In fact, we have a LOT of "psycic" monsters in the game already. Things like the intellect devourer, night hag, xill, and neothelid all count as "psychic monsters" for various reasons. And it's kinda important to realize that we'll be using the notion of "occult monsters" and not "psychic monsters."
6) Bestiary 5 will follow the same sort of pattern and setup as previous Bestiaries, yes.
7) Maybe! Wait and see! ;-)

Size probably SHOULD... but the fact that gear (including poison) is balanced in the game by its cost means that size actually cannot play a part in it unless you want to risk breaking your game's economy. And in fact, it's due to that sort of complication that there AREN'T official poison harvesting rules in the game.
Hmm. That is very important information. Thanks.

James,
Going forward with the release of Unchained, will APs and modules be designed with the NPCs using the Background Skill System or, since it is an optional system, will they be made as normal?
Unchained is a set of optional rules. As such, we'll be treating them as we do all optional rules... as options for the GM's table.
With a VERY few exceptions (we will be using the unchained summoner) the options in Unchained will NOT be utilized by NPCs or adventures or content we publish in our books.

How easy would it be to be able to play an Anti-Paladin in Hell's Vengeance?
What advise would you give a CE player in a predominantly LE Adventure?
As easy as playing a paladin in Wrath of the Righteous.
It's not a "predominantly LE adventure." It's an EVIL adventure path. Likely the only one we'll do anytime soon, and it's very VERY important to me (as someone who would want to play a demon worshiper in that AP) that all three brands of evil are an option in Hell's Vengeance.

Inner Sea Combat mentions that the phalanx fighter archetype is common amongst fighters from Molthune. I'm curious, as the book makes no mention, about what spears/polearms the Molthuni armor favors. Do they prefer pike-like longspears similar to the old Hellenic and Macedonian phalanxes, or shorter ones like what you might find in a Saxon shield-wall? Do they prefer something else, like bills or Lucerne hammers? What shapes are their shields? Round like a Greek hoplon? Oblong like a Roman scutum? Hexagonal like the shields favored by the Germanic tribe of the Suebi? I'm trying to design a character who gets his start as a Molthuni infantryman, you see, and I'm not sure what to kit him out with. Thanks in advance, I know Molthune isn't one of your favorite regions to be asked about. :)

Unrevealed. Again... without actual rules for how mass combat works, I am VERY hesitant to put those things in print, even here on the messageboards. I didn't develop or write Inner Sea Combat, and if I had, I might have not even let THAT bit of information into the book.
And it's not that Molthune isn't fun to talk about. It's an interesting area (although I do prefer Nirmathas)... it's just that one of its defining elements, mass combat, isn't something we have robust rules for yet. Same reason why we didn't talk much about Vudra—no psychic magic rules. That will soon be changing for Vudra. Some day, perhaps, it'll change for the armies of Golarion.

Got a new question for ya
Ive got a bloodrager im working on
im wanting to make him with the BlackBlood Bloodline but was also looking into the new Varient Multiclassing and have him with Sorcerer class features to gain the Nanite blood line
is there anything stopping me from having both?
i mean there is a clause saying that bloodlines have to match if i take levels in another class that offers blood line
but the Sorc. doesnt have a Blackblood Bloodline
so what would you think? would i still be able to have access?

You can either rip up the character sheet and start over in a new game...
...or you can ask the GM if you can rebuild...
...or you can just assume the new book is wrong as far as your character is concerned, or that your character is the exception that proves the rule.
My suggestion would be the third option. If that doesn't work, then use the second. If THAT doesn't work, well... the first, and for the new character, make sure to build one that ONLY utilizes material we've fully detailed. That doesn't ensure we WON'T do more with that topic in the future, but it's less likely than a topic we've never touched.

So James, we were talking about Sivanah and her different veils. You seemed pretty sure when you mentioned [REDACTED] as one of the races, but I think you meant aranea instead. I was thinking a little and it seems that the majority of the races represented by her veils have undergone transformations. Humans by the aboleths, elves can change to match environment, gnomes from leaving the First World, and the aranea can transform themselves. Halflngs seem like they are adept at social transformations, but that may be a stretch. And the [REDACTED] had a major transformation in their past as well.
Are the races represented by her veils due to the changes they have had?

So, if we get an evil adventure path, any chance of evil adventure modules or more support books like Champions of Corruption?
Not a matter of "if" now. We're already working on part one. Art's been ordered. Words are written. It's a matter of "when," and that "when" is "starting next February."
We are unlikely to produce any specifically evil modules at the same time we do Hell's Vengeance... unless you count the possibility of another goblin-themed adventure.
Support books? We'll see.

I saw that you mentioned it is going to have a jaunt into Isger for a part of it. Does this mean we'll get more info on Lady Kaltessa Iyis and the necromancers?
Doesn't mean anything more than that. You'll need to wait for more info on exact plot details; if you're going to Gen Con, that might be a good question to keep handy for the Adventure Path Q&A we'll be doing then.

I probably did. Turns out I can't remember every single word of our books on the last day of a four day convention when I'm coming down with the sick.
And that's an interesting observation, but the presence of halflings kinda throws a wrench into the theory. AKA: nope; the transformations don't have any bearing.

Would Pharasma have a problem with a follower taking the Mummification alchemist discovery? On one hand, it doesn't change their type to undead, and as far as I can see it doesn't prevent them from aging/dying or otherwise mess with their soul's journey from birth to death and beyond. On the other hand, I could definitely see her and/or her followers finding even the similarity distasteful, at the least.
Mummification (Ex): The alchemist has mastered preserving flesh and applied this knowledge to his own body, turning himself into an undeadlike creature. After learning this discovery, the alchemist must perform a 30-day regimen of a special diet, rigorous exercise, and drinking a mildly poisonous alchemical tea. At the end of this regimen, he falls unconscious for 24 hours, then awakens as a “living mummy.” The alchemist's type does not change, but he becomes immune to cold, nonlethal damage, paralysis, and sleep. An alchemist must be at least 10th level and must have the preserve organs discovery before selecting this discovery.
Also, and this may just be part of a particularly bad stretch of o.c.d. lately, but I can't shake the feeling that taking the Deathless feat chain (Deathless Initiate, Deathless Master, and Deathless Zealot, from Ultimate Combat) would somehow be disrespectful to Pharasma, her being a death goddess and all. The logical part of me knows that those are just names given to feats that basically make you harder to kill at negative hitpoints, but the ocd part of me is unsure and fairly insane. I'd be very grateful if you could share any thoughts on this; it'd really help put my mind at ease.

James, thanks again for the great panels during the convention. I attended the cartography seminar on a whim and was surprised by how much I took away from that panel.
Good to hear! That panel in particular was one that I was woefully unprepared for; got put onto it at the last minute and had to recruit Crystal at the last second and Liz AFTER the last second. Is good to know it still worked! :)

Jurassic World, Police Story: Lockdown, The Vatican Tapes, Sinister 2, Spectre, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2, and In the Heart of the Sea.
One of them, Valley of the Sasquatch, played today only at the film festival and I missed it on account of con crud, so that's frustrating... hope it's not long till it comes out on video!
But the one I am anticipating the MOST? Crimson Peak.

Do you plan on consolidating much of the stories of the various gods into one book?
Stories of how the gods fought back Rovagug, how Shelyn fought Zon Kuthon for the Whisperer of Souls or how Zon Kuthon tortured his father until he became his herald, the story of the death of Aroden or the rise of Iomedae or Cayden Cailean, or how Asmodeus murdered his brother Ihys but out of sympathy allowed mortals to have free will.
These stories are found in many many different books and you would have to read many Adventure Paths, Campaign Settings, Novels, Player Companions, etc to find it all. Some books exist (Inner Seas Gods, Inner Seas World Guide) that expand on a collection of existing Gods to add items, feats, spells, traits and the like to followers of each god, and even helpful roleplaying tips and cultural information of followers found in Golarion. But the stories and timelines are not available without much searching.
I love these stories and would love even more if there was a book that you can recommend which showcases many of them that I could read. Can you please point out which one or let me know if there are plans to consolidate the amazing amount of rich lore related to the different deities?
Thank you for taking the time to answer everyone's questions.

Is Alternate Racial Traits still a thing?
I found ART one of the best concepts in the Advanced Race Guide, allowing for customization of a race, swapping out one racial ability for a new one. However, the concept hasn't been seen much since. Is it something that was decided was a bad idea and has been buried since, or is it just a matter that there hasn't been a suitable product to put more into yet?
And if you can say, are there any new Alternate Racial Traits upcoming in any future products (such as Inner Sea Races)?

Did the development of the Summoner owe any inspiration to the ambitious goal set out by the Dvati race as featured in 3.5's Dragon Compendium, that being the ability for one player to play a set of twins (an idea I still think is nifty enough to merit continuing to try to find a balanced way to do it)?
