1) In the Pathfinder setting, there are schisms resulting from people interpreting a Deity's will in different way, such as with Sarenrae and the Cult of the Dawnflower. I know, it's something you were opposed to and is in line for a retcon. But in general, it must be within a deity's power to communicate directly with his/her followers, right? So why all these vague auguries?

2) I had an amusing thought: Hell's Rebels is basically Way of the Wicked in reverse. You're fighting as insurgents trying to destabalize House Thrune's hegemony in Cheliax, and in Way of the Wicked you're fighting the Mitra-worshipping House Darius in Talingarde. You've said this AP is more focused on Chaotic Good characters, but could it be possible to play as a bunch of Mitra-worshippers? Payback time!

3) Why is every other person on the internet vehemently opposed to Feminism?

4) To be honest, as a Paizo consumer, I feel really concerned that you might be working really hard and burning yourself out. I don't mean to sound patronizing or anything, but as much as I appreciate your work I think it's sad that you're really stressed lately. Are you okay?

what would happen if Razmir obtained mythic ranks and eventually chose divine source?

The whole point of his nation would change.

As for anything else, that'd really depend on the story we want to tell. At this point, it's not a story I've spent much time at all considering. Jason Bulmahn's the one to ask; Razmir is his pet NPC.

1) Actually, it's not in line for a retcon. It's in line for further development. A retcon is when we change something in print to be what it was originally intended to be. That's not the plan for the Sarenrae schism. And while it's within a deity's power to directly communicate to her followers, her followers are imperfect creatures and they tend to interpret those messages in all sorts of weird ways. Furthermore, deities are NOT just powerful people. They're on a much higher plane than are mortals, and many of the things they do aren't things that mortals can immediately understand. If they could, then working with deities would be science, not faith.

2) I'm playing in Way of the Wicked, so I don't know all of the details of that campaign, so I can't say for sure.

3) Ignorance mixed with fear, sometimes (but not always) mixed with a dash (or a huge pile) of plain old evil.

4) There's more than Paizo going on in my life, and I don't talk publicly about the non-Paizo stuff. Suffice to say, this month's been a pretty rough one. I am indeed trying to avoid burning out, and my co-workers and management are doing their best to help, just as I'm trying to help them as well. But yeah. If it happens, it happens. Nothing lasts forever.

Thanks in advance.

Step one: What is a "drowning"?

EDIT: OH! Are you talking about drow nobles?

In that case... a redeemed drow noble would be in all ways statistically the same as a drow except she'd have a different alignment. No changes to abilities.

And presumably they'd still be drow? Dark skin and all?

Who do you think was the coolest warlord during Japan's Sengoku period (Guys like Uesugi Kenshin, Takeda Shingen, and of course the big three, Oda Nobunaga, Totoyomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu)?

Was Dou-Bral a Lawful Good, Neutral Good, or Chaotic Good deity before turning into Zon-Kuthon?

Roll the hit dice and add them up if the math is confusing. ;-)

I'm not familiar enough with the synthesist other than to know that it's kinda banned from a lot of tables for precisely these reasons—it's FAR too complicated.

1 - its not a pfs table, its just online maptools
2 -these are the rolled numbers but im trying to figure out the rules of what happens to the combined hp value for the synthesist and temp hp of the synthesist with and withouit rage

Does the fused creature get a double rage benefit or a single rage benefit,

the perplexity is this

i am a character i go to having a 27 raged con while fused, so i get an hp boost and the eidolon gets a temp hp boost, or is it just 1 boost to the eidolon.

Greetings Mr. James Jacobs,

Can a evil god fake a "paladin" ? Let's say Asmodeus wants to hurt Iomedae's name by faking her calling to a delusional human who believe he is a paladin. He start a cult, hunt his "evil" enemies and burn them to the stake, all in Iomedae's name but is only being a delusional villain in a power game by the gods. Let's say he creates a organization like scarlet crusade from WOW. Of course this wound not go on forever, but it would work in Golarion for a time ?

Gods can do anything they want. If you want to do a story like this in your game, that's fine, but I would advise you stat up your fake paladins as warpriests, fighters, clerics, or anything else and then give them feats and spells and archetypes and stuff to help them pose as paladins. Golarion's already got an entire nation of people who think Razmir is a deity, so it's certainly possible you could get a cult of fake paladins. They would NOT have paladin levels though.

More to the point, they'd likely not be organized by the god anyway, but by the god's more powerful and imaginative and charismatic worshipers.

There is a CE Outer God who could probably pull something like that if he/she/it tried.

Ah, so you decided what race-class you are going with first? I am more than likely going to make a human female mage first (using my very "Templar friendly, Pro-Chantry" Warden and Hawke (in fact, my Hawke kind of got to a "mages all need to die..." mentality especially with the events with Orsino so she allowed Meredith to kill Bethany!) playing a mage in a world state where the mages are pretty much screwed over since the Blight will be fun!)... but definitely want to make a Qunari too.

Then on a side note, what do you think of Dragon Age Keep instead of the save file imports?

Probably the same one I went with in the first Dragon Age: female elf rogue.

I have no idea what "Dragon Age Keep instead of the save file imports" means, though.

Ah, well then the quick and dirty... due to the bugfest that was the DAO/DOA/DA2 saves plus with it being on the new consoles and the issues that causes with proprietary systems (like if you played the previous games on Xbox, then want DAI on the PS4, that's something Sony and Microsoft will not allow), they are doing a website called Dragon Age Keep where you will create your world state for DAI via the website, then import it to DAI from there. That way, you can make the world you want and won't be beholden to bugs. IT goes into Open Beta tomorrow at dragonagekeep.com

So with the Occult adventures playtest out, I'm very confused after reading the first class. The kineticist doesn't seem to fit the description of "occult" which I thought the book was about - I was expecting much more of a telekeneticist, a la Uri Geller or something and not at all an anime airbender. Not that there's anything wrong with anime based classes, but it doesn't seem to fit.

Does this reflect my perception of what the product is about simply being wrong, or is this simply under the umbrella of the book without affecting the overall theme?

I'd like to point out that while Avatar the Last Airbender IS animeish, its still pretty much a western cartoon :P So using anime as descriptive term is weird

1) Speaking of which, is that hunch right that it was inspired by Avatar?

2) Speaking of which terrakinetic? Geokinetic would make more sense <_< This and pantheism in faith and philosophy, is it up to writers fact check they are using right words and not editors or something? Then again, this IS a playtest so it doesn't really matter I guess...

I suspect that means your perception is wrong. Occult (and this book) covers a wide range of options, mostly to do with obscure or hidden or archaic forms of lore.

In the interest of sharing the love (yeah, that's what it is, love, honest), I would recommend it. Calling it a rules thread is perhaps a touch misleading considering the direction it went in.

It's about as non-hate-filled, lighthearted, and generally entertaining as anything that can (just barely) be called a rules thread can get.

I even wrote a rhyme especially for it.

Anyway, to avoid further derailing this thread with a lack of questions:

What colour socks are you wearing?
What is your favourite flower?
What's the second-best way to spend a weekend at home?
You've said that you'd like to live in Sandpoint, what city/town in Golarion would you least like to live in?
When was the last time you got a high-five?

Amiri: ah-MIR-ee
Kyra: KEER-a

Alahazra: ah-la-HAHZ-rah
Balhazar: BAHL-hah-zar

(All of the other iconics' names seem pretty straightforward.)

Thanks!

Why do people believe Ayn Rand's pseudo-philosophy, especially on the internet?

1)It looks like Occult Adventures will have info on the Astral plane and the Dimension of Dreams. So will it have any info about the First World, Ethereal plane, and/or Dimension of Time?

2)Now that the playtest has started, what class(or classes) are you most interested in and why?

3)Have you played as any of the OA playtest classes? If so wich one(s)?

4)Did you have any say to what the psychic classes would be? Such as concept, name, powers, etc.

5)How excited are you for the Occult Adventures book?

6)Will you be contributing to this book and not just as a editor and/or director? If so can you say what it will be?

7)What are your top 5 favorite psychic themed movies?

I have no idea about the evolved feats. I don't keep up on PFS stuff. If they're not there, then they're not available. My general advice for PFS characters is to NOT go crazy building characters using obscure or widespread book harvesting, because the more you do that, the more you're going to make a character that clashes with a GM or causes confusion in weird rules interactions. Those types of characters work better for home games. In any event, you'll need to ask the PFS folks, not me.

And no, I think monks work fine as they are. I think a lot of folks misunderstand their role as a defensive rather than offensive martial class.
