Hey guys, just a heads-up:

Thursday morning I'm hopping a plane from Charlotte to Dallas. My youngest male cousin is getting married on Saturday so I'll be out-of-town visiting relatives and such. I'm due to return Sunday afternoon.

Jason: Since this is your first time leveling-up Darvesch with us, just wanted to give you a heads-up on a few things...

Please list in this thread any changes and additions that you make to Darvesch. i.e. if you add a skill point to a skill, note that you gave it a point. If you get a new feat or class feature then list it, etc.

The reason for this is that it makes it MUCH easier for me to proof the updates and to keep the Party Matrix and ShortKeys current and accurate.

ALSO, when we level, that counts as if you just repeated your last 8-hours of rest and made the same spell selections, etc. Let me know if you have any questions. :)

Alright, well I may slow down the achievement bonuses to once every 2000 posts from here on out, but we'll see. :)

For 6000-posts, I've decided that thru your time spent together, and the trials that everyone has been thru, all of you would have learned a bit from one another and figured out natural extensions/applications of your existing knowledge.

Each of you should note a "6K" skill point on your sheets as follows:

  • A: +1 to K: Arcana
  • D: +1 to K: Engineering
  • L: +1 to K: Religion
  • M: +1 to K: Dungeoneering
  • P: +1 to K: History

Note that the skill matrix has already been updated to reflect this.

Well, he knows that it's at least part fiendish, although it's not an outsider per se. Aberration or Evil Outsider seem like the best best though. (He didn't roll high enough on one of his checks to tell for certain.)

Throughout your travels across Reaver's Shiv, Alis was always near the forefront keeping watch for traps even as Mal, Sasha, and Darvesch scouted for traps. She watched with great interest as they would prepare campsites, wrinkled her nose as they would dress kills, and grumble as they pointed out dangers that were obvious to each of them.

While she is still more at home navigating a political mine field than getting along in the wilderness, you've noticed that her complaining has steadily decreased these past few days. Evidently the perceptive and inquisitive princess has picked up on more than a few tricks of woodlore during her brief stay on Reaver's Shiv.

Alis will select Survival as her new class skill.

Alternatively...
If you can't find any cross-class skills that you'd really like to have as class skills, you may instead gain 1 skill point of additional training from someone else provided you have 2 or fewer skill points in that skill.


After constant badgering from both Alis and Sasha about her lack of climbing skills, Lureene, who is fed up with them, challenges both Alis and Sasha to a climbing contest. The spot is chosen; at the botom of the ravine where Alis' retinue was first ambushed by the giant cannibals.

The result were predictable: Lureene lost, and lost badly. But she is encouraged by the words of encouragement showing her muscle strength in her shoulders has improved, which has helped her climbing skill.

Lureene will gain 1 skill point in Climb, as it is already a class skill for her (Rogue level).

Nope. It doesn't look like anyone in the party has even in a single point in any of the craft skills, let alone 5.

Sasha has a single point in Craft: Pioneering, but that's not enough to train anyone on. Mind you, I don't think anyone but her has done one iota of crafting while on Reaver's Shiv (let alone making weapons and armor), so I'm not sure how it could have plausibly been picked-up on anyway. ;)

Just wanted to let you guys know that I'm ALMOST finished with the new character sheet template and database for tabletop games. This has been nothing short of a monumental project, but I think (read: hope) that it will all be worth it. If nothing else, the layout and usefulness of the information presented is greatly improved.

The only thing I have left to do at this point is move over the inventory/HP tracking page from my old database. At some point (if I get really ambitious) then I might try to separate the templates themselves into another file so that they can be modified in one spot and used for any/all characters.

Here's hoping I can wrap it up this weekend. I'm eager to be done with staring at Excel for 6+ hours a day! @_@

    Nice! I like the fact that you put some into Diplomacy and Spellcraft to reflect interactions with the rest of the party. The points in Craft and the feat seem to reflect on him recalling his grandfather's teachings, am I right? :)

    Anyway, Matrix should be up-to-date now for Alis, Darv, Lureene, and Priyya. Not sure if I'll bother leveling Mal since he hasn't really been in any scenes lately, we'll see. I'll have to ping Rob to let him know that we're close to getting off this rock and to level Amhranai. :3

    You're right, I didn't want to pump many points into spellcraft, partially because I wanted a good chance of failure for crafting magic items, and to show he's picked up some things from all these mages. Lol. Diplomacy shows his interactions with the group. Craft skill and feat is more of a "I had it all along, I just remembered how" thing, recalling his grandfather's teachings.

    And one question, the DC for making my axe +1 is?

    OK so here's what I was able to come up with from the PRD...

    • The DC to create a magic item is 5 + the caster level for the item.
    • The DC to create a magic item increases by +5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet.
    • Creating an item requires 8 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item's base price (or fraction thereof), with a minimum of at least 8 hours.
    • This process can be accelerated to 4 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item's base price (or fraction thereof) by increasing the DC to create the item by +5.
    • Creating a magic weapon has a special prerequisite: The creator's caster level must be at least three times the enhancement bonus of the weapon. If an item has both an enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster level requirements must be met.

    So the caster level for a +1 Enhancement bonus would be 3. This means:

    Spellcraft DC   8: 2 days
    Spellcraft DC 13: 1 day

    (If you roll high enough, I'll let you go with the faster rate.)

    Since selling a item nets 50% of it's market value and crafting something costs 50% of it's market value, we can just assume that Darvesch will be able to recycle the +1 enhancement bonus on the mithril hook we found in the Red Mountain Devil's lair.
