I was pretty sure it got errata'd to being available to any race that met the requirements. Did it get a reverse-errata to being elf and half-elf again?
I vaguely recall a thread of celebration when the errata was issued. Was that errata just in a post and not incorporated into the official errata by oversight?

That I cannot tell you. However, I've houseruled in my game to allow anyone who meets the Prereqs minus the racial ones to take levels in it. Dwarven Defender was redone in APG minus the racial prereqs. Stalwart Defender. So it makes sense to me.
I remember vaguely someone from Paizo saying that the racial requirement doesn´t really make sense any more, so it would be entirely reasonable to remove it.
To my knowledge no new errata has come out after he posted it.
IRC, James has been vocal about not liking race restrictions on PRCs. I believe he dislikes the restriction on Arcane Archer specifically. However, AFAIK, there has not been any Official errata on the matter.

I'm not sure what happened here... I think this is a bit of errata that just keeps slipping through the cracks whenever we do an update. Or maybe it's something Jason decided not to do... but the last I heard, it WAS supposed to be errataed so that there's no racial limitation to the prestige class.
Perhaps it's still at the "It is entirely reasonable to remove this restriction," but just hasn't been done yet since it's sort of a zero-sum situation. It's not a "broken" rule in either case, so it doesn't really need to be "fixed," after all.
For those of you in games I'm running, though, there's no race restriction for the prestige class.

Likewise, I think there was discussion of removing the Riding Dog from the Summon Monster I list, but that never happened either.
