I'm voting first one also because of the feel it gives. Second would be good if it was done PF WAR style with them in the middle of a battle with some type of monster in ruins. I agree that without more setting the second one lacks anything which portrays feeling of destruction and despair you'd expect from post-apoc.

Old cover. Stop Sign.
Like best.

I vote for the old cover. The girl with the stop sign. It captures the setting and makes it look desolate and scary.

I also like the 1st cover

Yah I'm wavering back to the first.

I like the old picture, as it is clearly of an apocalyptic ruin, with the person in it armed with low-tech and improvised gear, which is what I'd expect an RPG book of this genre to have. The new picture has two people firing their guns at something, of which one seems half-dog, which isn't as iconic.

Hey folks, don't hold back your opinions on my account :)

I take it you are the artist of the second art? If so, know that you art isn't bad. It just doesn't scream post apocalyptic like the first one does.

I am, and it's fine, I obviously missed the mark on what people expect the setting to be. It's all in good fun, and if I had more then just the one night I did to make this cover, some things would of been different.

Either way, I'm glad people are talking about the book and I know they will enjoy.

I feel your pain! Art is probably the MOST subjective thing in the world (believe me, I know of what I speak :)

The opinions we've gotten (here and on FB) have been strong -- but the old cover has a slight lead.

So, we're going to go with that one -- HOWEVER, we're going to use the other image as the back cover image. It's too good not to use.

Now that's settled ... just need the book. Yesterday. ;-)

Awesome. I love the dog man.

Cool, and cool!

Seriously, though -- you've got a choice: I can answer questions on this forum, or I can get this sucker through layout and get it out there. I don't really have time to do both.

What? A monkey can dream, can't he?

You've been using the Orbital Mind Control Satellites to look into my head as I finish the work on this thing, haven't you?

The Instrumentality never reveals it's methods ...

If those really end up in this book, AND there are illustrations, I'll buy 5. (One for each person in my gaming group)

Any news?

Scarab Sages

I asked Skarka in person this past week at Origins about the book. He thinks it will be printed in July.

The preorder bundle isn't showing on your (Adamant Entertainment) store, has it expired?

Yes, we removed it a while ago.

The book will be sent to pre-order customers at the end of the month.

It'll be hitting stores in August.

Is that when we shall receive the PDF as well?

Does that mean it will be available at Gen Con?

Warlords of the Apocalypse has disappeared from Adamant Entertainment's web site. Has the game been canceled?

Its still up at Cubicle 7. Hope its not been canceled though. That would be very dissapointing.

That was just the removal from the Pre-order list. It is supposed to be out end of month.

Feelin' your pain, man...feelin' your pain.

:: double-taps vein in arm ::

I'm jonesin' too.

So now that we're close to the wire of this coming out, I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me from Adamant. How well could someone run a "Gamma World" style campaign using this book? I realize it's a bit more fantasy than sci-fi from the things being bantered here, but is there enough science still left in the book? Are there "artifacts" such as guns or former technology? Also, are there plans to see follow-up books to this? :)

Urizen wrote:

Less than that now. I take it no one has gotten a copy yet?

Dark Archive

Nothing yet and hopefully it hasn't got lost amidst all the hype for Far West.

Sczarni

Still waiting here...

Sovereign Court

Yep, still waiting...

Last thing I read was early this morning when Gareth posted on Adamant's Facebook page in response to another individual asking the same question where he hopes to have it knocked out in time before he leaves for GenCon. Please don't take this as the definitive answer, though.

You can take it as definitive.

Here's the short version: Project is cursed.:)

Slightly longer version: I'm busting my ass -- pretty much solo -- to get this done before I head out for GenCon. I'm still dumb enough to be hopeful. :)

If I don't make that deadline, it'll be definite for August, either way.

If you need any help with the layout, I'd be happy to help out ;)
