PFS Podcast?

Pathfinder Society

The Exchange 2/5

I have really enjoyed listening to a couple of different podcasts that contain information on Pathfinder and its many books and some modules. However, I have not found a podcast that focuses on Pathfinder Society. Since the majority of what I play is PFS, it would be really cool to have a podcast that would discuss rule changes when they came out, story lines as they become retired, maybe locations or individual NPC's in PFS that everyone would meet, and for the GM's a spoiler'riffic section that would discuss the latest published scenarios giving pointers and tips in running them.

I would love to say that I would be publishing my first podcast on this subject, but alas, I have not the skillz, knowledge nor equipment to do so. And I have not the experience in doing a podcast either. Would love to learn how to and do one though.

Just wondering what others thoughts are on the subject?

First I would like to know what other podcasts you are listening to? Right now I'm only listening to 'Know Direction' which is ok but a little sporadically published.

Second I've thought about doing this also, specific to PFS but there is kind of a tick/issue you have to deal with in that you are increasing accessibility to privileged information without any authentication method. To be worth the effort you are going to have to talk about a given module in depth (which spoils it for players who haven't played, shame on them for cheating!) Now for a listener who is a dedicated GM that's not really an issue, you could listen to anything in the feed and not worry about 'spoiling' a module. However, I know there are lots of Player/GMs out there as well who would have to be careful about what they listen too. And finally you've got your players, who really should only listen to an episode for a module they have a chronicle for (or has been retired). Like I said, seems a little messy to me without a great solution...but I would love to have more PFS specific content on my iPod :)

I have been listening to 'Know Direction', 'Chronicles: Pathfinder Podcast', and 'Fear the Boot' (which has nothing to do with Pathfinder in particular, is just a gaming podcast I enjoy listening to on a weekly basis).

I believe that a podcast could be done well even though it would be focusing on PFS. It would probably have to be a bi-weekly podcast, as I don't think there is enough new material on a weekly basis to warrant a weekly podcast. But I wouldn't want to have a podcast that lasted more than an hour. Bi-weekly would allow the podcast to discuss society rule changes, PFS history, the occasional "event", i.e.-con or interview, and a scenario or two. I would split the podcast into two parts, the "all are welcome" portion and the "GM only" portion.

Starting with any updates to rules mentioned on the message boards, follow that with a little background on a local Pathfinder Society Venture captain or faction/group and then wrap up the "all are welcome" portion with information on the next con or maybe an interview with one of the many people involved in running PFS, i.e.- Josh Frost, DougDoug, Lilth, Mark and many more. Maybe we could even get some interesting stats from Paizo, like what is the most common faction reported as played?
The second portion would just be straight-up advice on running a specific scenario or two. Hopefully with help from the author!

Every once in a while there could be a special podcast that highlights events like GenCon or PaizoCon or the release of a new rulebook and how it effects PFS.

Liberty's Edge 3/5

As we have mentioned, Chronicles: The Pathfinder Podcast is going to be covering PFSS in the Chronicles section of the podcast - and for players as well.

We'll be covering two PFSS' in Episode 04, as a matter of fact.
