Sitting in class watching students. Damn! I make an awesome exam!

My math teacher keeps losing my exams. WTF? It's not like they're bad. It's not like last term where I got 100 percent on almost every test, but still pretty good. At least it was finally located at the bottom of the stack and entered in. :)

Well the first month is Child induced insanity, coupled with severe sleep deprivation.

Still working on the whole sleep deprivation thing. I started with it, then my wife took it over. Now we've got to find a nice balance.

Eventually they start to sleep for longer stretches, except for last night.:) Jude woke up crying like every 2 hours last night.

You can always pull out some papers as if you are grading them. Then hold one up and start giggling like a school girl. Turn to the call and say something like "Oh I hope you all did better than this guy, clever answer but WRONG." Then watch them sweat.

A friend of mine is a vocal performance professor at a local college, and I was talking to him one time about the awkward "juries" of music study. (Basically, the final exam consists of singing for a faculty panel - very nerveracking.) I told him that instead of listening quietly and attentively, he should "get into the music". Maybe start nodding his head and tapping his foot, and then at the most difficult part start singing along - out of tune.

Mean mean mean.

Yeah, I had to put my seven year old back to bed five times last night. Still waiting for that sleeping through the night thing. *sigh*

Yes. If you recall, there was a certain Dalek mucking about with the timestream.

Gah. Frustrated with myself. I totally flubbed part of the quiz because I misunderstood the question. :(

Sorry, it won't go through the monitor. :)

Dexter Bakery makes the best paczkis. Pure donut deliciousness. :)
Actually they just make the best donuts in general. But I do especially look forward to the two days a year when they make paczkis.

Because paczkis are traditionally eaten on Fat Tuesday, so they only make them on the Monday and Tuesday. A lot of bakeries make them for the whole month before, but the owners of the Dexter Bakery are Polish so they only make them on the traditional days.

Wickedly funny, 'tis true, but I don't do this CrimJ because making them nervous is against my best interests. It would be like loading their leaky boats with dynamite and then demanding that they juggle torches, bless their hearts. Hey, for my next test...

So my son’s pre-school is doing a dress up day for Shrove Tuesday (or Pancake Tuesday as it is often called here). They all need to dress up as something starting with ‘P’.

He wanted to be a prince (apparently because a little girl he likes is being a princess ... actually I think all the girls will be princesses), so I made him a costume of a bad-ass prince. He has a crown, bracers, breastplate with a picture of a dragon on it, rings, belt and sword all made of cardboard, with a red cloak from his superhero set over the top of it. Looked great ... and I realised after I dropped him off and was on my way to work that I didn’t take a photo of him. Eeerg ... I’m not hopeful that the costume will survive intact till the afternoon ...

As an adjunct, I'm competing for student enrollment/dollars. You confuse me with an educator that's not getting treated like crap.
