Apparently someone in my office has been disregarding the work they've been receiving. I get to spend my afternoon combing through the last month's worth of faxes to find what has been done and what has not. I would grumble about how somebody should be fired, but the fact is, if we knew who it was, they would be.I found out who's been dumping their work (did some detective work) and I'm kind of sad that I did now. He's a nice guy - I don't know why he didn't just ask for help if he was overwhelmed. This isn't going to turn out well.
Is there any way to shift the blame to someone you don't like? :)

You know something that doesn't make any damn sense? My laptop and computer both access the internet from the same wireless network. They are currently sitting right next to each other. My laptop is connected to the network which is connected to the internet. My computer is connected to the network that isn't connected to the internet.

I had a similar problem with my old router. It would just randomly decide to stop working for one of my computers. Usually, reseting the router fixed it.

Good, technically easy to fix. Since it's technically my father's router and he's going to be at work for the next twelve or so hours, I'll just stay on my laptop for now and just keep getting confused and reaching for the computer's keyboard/mouse.

Green Pens. We are required to supply the teachers with GREEN PENS because apparently it's "bad" to grade in red. (Looks like blood or some other BS.) Have you ever tried to go shopping for only green pens? Then they give things like "4 notebooks -- yellow, orange, purple, and gray". So I'm looking around and find 3 of the 4 magic colors and had to go to a number of different locations to find everything.

As for red in representing blood... with all due respect to hemophobiacs, this is too much. Sure, fake blood in a movie or video game might paralyze them, but ink? Unlikely since it is not affecting the desktop. But you know electronics do a lot of things they are not supposed to do.

Me too. My school starts a week earlier than everybody elses, so I scored all the crap without too much hassle. I scored in 1 Wal Mart and 1 Walgreens, then my wife went to 1 Target when we got the "second batch list."
Usually takes a whole entire Sunday searching for a kinder sleep mat and 8 by 11 construction paper....or whatever two things everybody in Dallas is out of.The worst is the 1st grade letter writing paper. Scored that a month ago.
I'm just glad I found a charter school that teaches phonics.

Very interesting... I get paid on a biweekly schedule, which means that twice a year, I get three paychecks in one monthly billing cycle... Finally got caught up on some bills from a few months back. Hopefully that cleans up a bit of credit as I'm planning on moving back to PA and need to go through a blasted credit check for an apartment (nevermind that I haven't missed a single rent/mortgage payment in 16 years...)

Syfy's Fact or Faked is such a bogus show. And it's not really that the entire show is bogus, it's that there "Resident Scientist" doesn't seem to follow the scientific method.
Yes, I watch Ghost Hunters, GHI, even Destination Truth once in a while. And, yes, GH/GHI has gotten a little more 'loose' with their haunted definitions, they at least say that they're not sure what it was, but they can't explain it.
The show tonight on Fact or Faked is about an 'eerie light' that was caught on video in the woods. They go out and investigate. They see the light miles away from where they are filming. So they drive a golf cart down a side trail to where they "think" it should be and wave around Geiger counters. Then they fly an airplane where they think it should be and shine a light towards the base camp. THEN they drive a car down the highway where they THINK it should be and shine lights back at the camera. None of this recreates the 'phenomenon', so they "have to assume it's paranormal".
REALLY?!? What about WALKING DOWN THE CLEAR-CUT PATH OF POWER LINE POLES THAT LEAD RIGHT TO THE LIGHT?!? YOU MIGHT FIND A TRANSFORMER BOX WITH A LIGHT ON IT OR A GUY THAT CLIMBED A POLE SHINING A LIGHT AT YOU!!!!

Have you noticed the former FBI guy always debunks the video while the "Scientist" proves it's paranormal?
The very first episode, they went out to investigate 'lights in the sky'. The first experiment they did was shining a keychain laser on double paned glass set up in front of their camera and practically recreated the phenomenon on the first try. But he dismissed it because he shone the laser beam directly into the camera lens, flaring it and saying "well, that didn't happen in the original video, so it can't be that!" OR, Mr. Science, the guys that made the original DIDN'T shine the light into the lens...

That can at times be a good plan. Keep in mind they can only show so much as well. Maybe they do 'try' other things but we do not see all of it. Or maybe that thought can help with the verisimilitude of an otherwise hard to stomach 'science'. It works wonders for Star Trek.
