Quick Psionic?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Ok i've enquired before and yes Pathfinder will NEVER touch psionic (i still think it could be one of the best class for paizo to work on).. thats fine.

My question is what would be the 2-3 most important things to work on from the 3.5 complete psionic guide in order to get it "in line" with pathfinder system?

I know it would be more difficult then that in order to totaly make the 3.5 psionic system 100% compatible to pathfinder but i'm tryin to see if there would be a way to make it "fit" to an acceptable degre without working on it for weeks/months!

discuss!

P.S. or does someone already worked on that as a free lancer?

Well the first order of business would be deciding how the psionic powers work. Are they SU? Are the EX? Are the SLA? From there you would figure out most things. Second would be how to balance the powers versus the current level advancement system. I personally think working it out along the lines of the bloodlines that sorcerers get or maybe even the domain powers for clerics wouldn't be too awful hard. Lastly, they would have to decide weather they are going to make it a single class, or a whole other branch of characters. I don't think they should try such an approach anywhere like they did with 3.X. There was just TOO much variety with psions. Yea that sounds weird but, a psionic warrior outclassed the base classes on martial prowess AND they has SLA to back themselves up on.

Also... can of worms.

I have been a big fan of psionics since 3.0. I never got to play the old first edition rules. I feel that it is a shame that PF is boycotting psionics from their system.

Dreamscared Press did, and is doing an excellent job with psionics for the PF system. They are even working on a APG equivalent book for psionics. But "GOOD LUCK" getting some DM's to allow you to use 3rd party stuff.

Any attempt at a conversion from 3.5 is probably going to be largely duplicating work that Dreamscarred Press has already done (what's generally agreed to be, although like anything else there's at least a few quibbles here and there) an incredible job of doing. Just use thier stuff; I'm pretty sure that everything core to the system is in the SRD online anyway, so you can get a good look at it.
