So I was a dingbat and forgot to wipe off a map a couple of months ago and it's stained, is there anyway that all the illustrious players out there have found, to remove the stains of wet-erase markers from the reusable maps?

Depending on the extent of the stain, you can try firmly rubbing a black dry erase over it and wait a few seconds for it to dry thoroughly. When you wipe it away, it should be good.

I've used rubbing alcohol or acetone (fingernail polish remover) on other maps in the past to clean permanent marker, but I'm not sure how the laminate Paizo uses would react to it.

not the Paizo flipmats.. but the old style of maps pads I guess .. you know the parchment colored ones with the squares on one side and the hexes on the other...

Those are the ones I have used alcohol or acetone on. I had a map that I forgot for over a year. A combination of polish remover and a couple of re-writes over the stain with a fresh wet erase (and a little elbow grease) did the trick.

We use a well known glass cleaner that sounds a little like Cleaned-Hex on our battle mats.

also, I've had baby whipes work wonders for maps up to 3 weeks old... havn't tried it on any older than that though...

Rub new pen across the stain of the old pen. Then Windex the map clean.

Peanut Butter. Don't laugh; try it.

Don't use acetone: Many of those maps can't handle it.

creamy or chunky...

Scarab Sages

The "magic erasers" work to get the stains off. You have to follow the directions and let it sit. Unfortunately, they also take the lines off as well. We learned the hard way, so be careful about any methods you use and test a spot before hand.

Baby wipes work ok, but watch out for sanitary wipes, they'll eat your lines!

Dark Archive

Compleatly off topic:
Baby wipes also work well for removing dry paint from your hands. Better than paint stripper in fact. I do wonder what they put in them that then gets put all over babies bottoms....

Creamy is fine. You don't believe you need abrasion. I will ask my friend who keeps advocating this.

that is an entirely scarey thought

Ok I got more backstory...

Creamy peanut butter can take dry erase marker off a battle mat, but it takes elbow grease and may lift the lines. So, use at your discretion.
