Retroactive GM credit for mods before 2.2 came out

So I ran PFS for friends early on while playing 4E. I have recently started playing PFS and heard about GM credit for "eating" mods. The greedy rogue in me wants to know if I can get credit now for scenarios 1 and 2? The scenarios were reported; how can I get credit for them and apply it to my character?

The guide to organized play covers how GM's get credit for eating a mod. Depending on when you ran the adventures, check with the person who reported the events and have them add an extra character to the line up. This character will be the one that you would like to apply the credit too. Considering you ran scenario's 1 and 2, you should get the full 1 PA for your efforts.

The GM credit is a great way to keep you close to the rest of the players so that when you do get to play you will still be close in total level. My Palaidn is almost 6th level and I have only played him twice. The rest is eating scenario's for the greater good of mankind.

There is no retroactive credit. You only get the new GM Reward from version 2.2 for any scenarios you ran after 2.2 came out.

Although if I remember correctly if you run the scenario again now (having not received GM credit the first time), you would get that credit now.

So if in 2009 I ran Module #1 I would not get the GM bonuses, but if I ran the module again in July I would.

I'll wait for somebody to confirm or correct me though before I say I'm 100% on this one.

Nope, unless Josh has changed his mind. I actually asked him this a while back via email. I had run scenario #29 back when GMs were getting "Partial Credit" for their PCs, and had given my PC the half prestige, half GP, and 1 XP reward. I then ran scenario #29 again after version 2.2 had come out, and asked if I could basically get rid of that old chronicle where he got half of things and give him a new one with the new rewards. The answer was, in short, no.

Basically, if you have already run a scenario and gotten a partial GM Reward under the old system (with half stuff) then you do not get to receive the new reward even if you run the same scenario again after 2.2.

That seems contrary to the spirit of rewarding judges for running. That leaves judges who missed out on a reward with less incentive to run that scenario again.

You could really say that for any scenario, even under 2.2, since you only get the GM Reward a single time. You have less incentive to run *any* scenario, even one you got full credit for, after running it one time.

GMing, in my opinion, is its own reward. :)

I'm sure that Joh will settle the question as soon as he scans this thread.

I don't think there's a question about whether a GM who has taken partial credit can not take full credit if he runs it again. I think the question is if a GM who ran the scenario back in 2008 for zero credit may now collect the GM Reward if he runs the scenario since the new Rewards system is in place.

I believe the answer is YES, a GM who ran a scenario back before there was a Rewards system may now claim credit if he runs the same scenario again.

On the other hand, I agree with Karui Kage that GMs should be motivated by pride in a job well done.

You may be right Doug. When I asked Josh it was about Partial -> Full, not None -> Full. I forgot that there was a point where GMs got no credit at all.

If you ran a scenario pre-2.2 (let's say #7), and received no credit for it, you can run that scenario again NOW and receive GM credit for it.

If you ran #7 pre-2.2 and received the 2.0 or 2.1 partial GM credit, you may not run that scenario NOW for full 2.3 GM credit.

If you ran #7 pre-2.2 for either reason and don't intend to run it again now but want credit anyway, that would be a no. You have to run it again to get the full 2.3 GM credit.

Hope that clarifies things.
