Right. It is extremely rare that corrections are made to PFS scenarios, and that's why it is important to look for a discussion thread like this one when you are doing your prep work. Chances are that someone has found the same issue that you have. Better to hash it out here than have to stop the game and think of an on-the-spot fix.

It's OK to be frustrated about the scenario errors. Just understand that the staff at Paizo have a finite amount of time and resources to address what are often minor issues. It is never as simple as a single editor making a correction and sending it to your downloads. Unless we work at Paizo, we probably will never understand their quality assurance process. So just vent here, among those who feel the same way. Also, when someone at Paizo does something well, always misspell their name or give credit to a different member of the staff ;)

There's one thing that you can do, but you may not like the answer. You can promote, GM and report PFS games. A lot of them. The hope is that more players = more people downloading PFS material = more revenue = more budget attention for the campaign. With a larger budget in theory the current campaign coordinator will get some more assistance in making corrections to previously released material. See, I told you that you wouldn't like my idea ;p

Wait! You mean GMs are supposed to read the scenarios in advance???

I noticed that in the higher tiers,

Spoiler:

The goblin shamans first action in the ambush is to STILL cast sleep even in the 6-7 tiers

Spoiler:
That adept is thoroughly disappointing anyway in tier 6-7. The warriors do a lot more.

So can we switch it out with something that IS useful at those tiers?

I wish, but I just had to settle for...

Subtier 6-7:
Confusing almost the entire party in the last battle and having them almost destroy themselves. Man, that was fun. The players were calling each other jerks for optimizing so much.

Made up for the fact that the other battles are just so disappointing in that subtier.

I still love the scenario, though. It's a ton of fun!

I like it too! I played it at Ancient City Con last summer and my gunslinger stole the show.

Spoiler:

After thoroughly hammering our way through his summoned critters, the BBEG hops on stage and starts to say something before fleeing and my gunslinger crits him from 80' for 48 points dropping him on the spot.

Couple of things having prepped this recently:

1) The dev accidentally stacked a spell with a headband in the Tier 6/7 bad guy. Not like it matters; the bard is going to need all the help he can get.

2) The dev correctly gave the bard Versatile Performance, but neglected to reflect that in the stats. Someone was complaining about the bard's low Bluff score. I would actually question why the bluff score was so high, if he planned out versatile performance.

In my prep (which I will share on pfsprep.com), I manually adjusted the Tier 6/7 bard (it's in the scenario, so purists can always use the one on paper). I also put the Versatile Performance stats into the skills.

Sovereign Court 4/5

Have fun running this one. Somebody has to be Sovereign Court and give them the faction mission for Taldor. If not, beg somebody to do it. It is one of the most fun faction missions that exist. Your players will never forget! FOR TALDOR!

When I was prepping this to run, I decided the exact same thing. It ranks up there with another faction mission where the Taldans need you to shave a man's beard.

I DO THIS FOR TALDOR?

Looking over the final encounter, and I can't figure out why Pratt chooses to fight to the death instead of using his scroll of Dim Door to escape the building and run ala Torch.

I agree it's kinda dumb, but in the confines of organized play I imagine he fights to the death because the PCs would get shorted on gold/access to his equipment if he were able to escape.

Sorta necro, but I just ran this.
The Dim Door is probably on there to get it on the chronicle sheet. I was disappointed as well that he carried it and did nothing with it.

Unrelated: Is it just me, or does this scenario throw healing potions at the player? The first encounter has seven of them, which they'll never even use, and the second encounter with the goons gives three potions of CLW per goon in the 3-4 tier which they'll only use at very low HP (which is probably too low to even be feasibly reached before knocking them out cold). My players never even had to reach for their wands anymore. Though to be fair, those three potions are only in that specific tier, it seems more reasonably distributed in the lower tier, and the higher tier has even more of them(13 CLW, one CMW in the first encounter, 4 CMW in second encounter, 14 CLW in optional encounter), but damage output is also higher, so it's understandable.
