can't find rules on being drunk but I'm taking -2 on my rolls not my defences etc. CMD should be 13 - thanks for the catch
Borden takes an attack of opportunity on the untrained grapple.
1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 2 = 16
A vicious elbow that is just mistimed enough to whoosh past his opponents ear. Sober, he may have landed it.
Borden follows up with a hook.
1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 - 2 = 5
But his elbow strike earlier and the closeness of Mothos makes it difficult to hit out effectively.

As maia notices the man starting a fight with Morthos and sees how drunken he is, She is slightly disgusted, reminded of some people of her childhood. She marches over towards the fight.
Val- Maia... I don't think we should involve ourselves.
Maia Cuts Val off mid sentance
NO, Starting a fight for no reason is awful, Besides that, starting a fight in a tavern filled with people going to the same place is even worse. We should be making friends, not enemies!
When she gets close to the tussling duo.
Stop making a fool of yourself! I think you need to chill out a bit Before you go and break something you can't pay for! Here, look at the tripy colors!
Maia's hotheadedness begins taking over and she casts a spell. She throws a bit of blue sand up towards Borden and speaks a word, suddenly the sand bursts into a cascading light effect.
Color spray, DC 17 will save (10+1+5+1)

Did I hear Chess? I remember that game! My father taught me to play when I was very young.
Given his usual, very emphasized volume, Bran is hard to be overheard. There is something that strikes her as odd about the wording, though. Does he want to fool his potential opponents into believing he was a novice, while he is really good at it?

Bran sees the intrigued look on Narah's face. I've not played in a long time. Haven't stayed in civilization too long these past...15+ years.
Bran is not bluffing.

Bran gives a hearty laugh and steps in front of Borden.
Come now friend, I believe you may have reached capacity on the good stuff this evening. Bran tries to convince Borden to keep it civil.
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Failing miserably I'm assuming.

What they hell, I'll take that as a move into a threatened square :)
Borden takes a swing at the mountain of muscle that is Bran as well, proving that he has very little in the way of common sense and even less in the way of self preservation instincts.
1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 = 11
A punch to a rock hard gut that the big man just... ignores.
Bring on the pain :D
Narah |
If there was one good thing about really drunk men it was that one could afford to abandon all subtlety.
Narah uses a little mental training to incite a physical reaction from her body, takes the whip she's wearing around her waist off and holds it behind back.
She casts a little spell and takes care that she isn't in Borden's field of view, hoping that no one will hold it against her.
Enhanced Diplomacy
She walks up to Bran and Borden, moves her free arm and uses her breath in a way to create a bit more tension around her chest and while the details still aren't visible they print clearly through the cloth.
"That was a remarkable display of passion, Borden", she she breathes to him, taking great care that she doesn't block Bran's path to Borden should this backfire. "Will you help a lady in need and please take me to your room? I can't stand this tension anymore." The exact wording is no lie, even though the tension is referring to is different than what she implies... she tries her best puppy eyes on him and fidgets nervously with her dress, still holding her whip behind the back with the other.
A Bit of Luck on self
Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 or Bluff: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20 Use the better of the two. She actually wants to put him in bed and let him sleep it off, without employing further violence.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 2 = 22 or Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 2 = 13 Use the better of the two. Seduction attempt.

oh no no i cant miss a bar brawl
Melchior casually takes a chair an places on his shoulder
- Hey, i think you need to cool down and get some fresh air - then gazes upon Narah - Well now that i think about it you probably have all the air man need. So how about some water?- he utters few words as big blob of water appears near the ceiling and drops on Borden.
Narah |
Was actually waiting for someone else's reaction but I can't hold back. One tavern brawl coming up!
"That does it.", the thought flushed through her as the water flushed over Borden's head.
"They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind!" She always does sound a little squeaky when she's angry, but she didn't care back then. The way her hair flew around her, the furious gaze from her eyes and how the little nothing of a dress became like dust around said whirlwind more than made up for it. Calistria was also the goddess of revenge and while that was not an aspect which was particularly important to Narah, she could not think of a more fitting moment than right now.
"How dare you interfere with my game and steal my prey, scavanger?!" Unlike many others she's still completely sober, but he had crossed a line. If another woman had fought her fair and square for him, things would be different - especially considering that she didn't really want him as long he was loaded to the edge. But this was a matter of principle!
In elven she cast a spell, touching the holy symbol of three daggers around her neck, and produced the whip from behind her back. "Calistria, Queen of Lust, bless me with the strength of thy fury!" 'Queen of Lust' was not strictly one of Calistira's titles but she wasn't in the mood for details now.
Bless - also including Bran and Borden

The room darkens, a slow fade to a warm emptiness. A large round table appears in the center of the room, chairs for six neatly placed around it.
TIme to wrap it up kids. :-) Players will be posted this evening. For those not chosen, if you message me in private I will explain why you were not chosen. It might take some time, but I will respond to everyone.

The last thing glade does. That was great Maia. Thanks for breaking that up, I wouldn't have known to go about it myself And glade applauds her.

the obvious answer is that you can't pick everyone, the better question for those who weren't chosen is how good did I do or what did I lack?
Bran Grindle |
Bran hoped his actions weren't perceived as malicious, as he too only wanted to get Borden to a room to sleep off the intoxication so he would be presentable at the funeral on the morrow.
Looks like Borden was still "thirsty".
Bran notices the lights dimming as the table and chairs appear in the center of the room. He looks on, puzzled, but intrigued nonetheless.

Drunkenness
Just like drugs, alcohol can be abused and have significant negative effects. In general, a character can consume a number of alcoholic beverages equal to 1 plus double his Constitution modifier. Drinks consumed in excess of this total cause the character to become sickened for 1 hour per drink above this maximum. Particularly exotic or strong forms of alcohol might be treated as normal drugs. Those who regularly abuse alcohol might eventually develop a moderate addiction.
"Enough!" The diminutive woman finally bellows, traversing from seated, to standing, to vaulting onto the table to stand barely head-and-shoulders above the rest of you. "Will you sully the memory of our departed friend & mentor by turning this place into nothing more than the aftermath of a drunken brawl?! Even the Lucky Drunk would not shame himself so!" Realizing her timing had something to be desired as the chaos was already in the way of resolving itself, she hops down from the table.
Game Master Scotty |
The woman with curls walks slowly around the table, carefully placing drinks with care and precision. She moves the head of the table, standing motionless for a time, her face sad and thoughtful.
The bartender walks behind her and places his hand on her shoulder in a firm grip. She grasps it with both hands, holding fiercely, knuckles turning white before he backs into the dark.
Petro was correct; all of you have the seed of greatness within. I am sure greatness lays before you all, but for six of you, I must lay a burden on you.
Her head bows for a moment, her knees almost buckle before she regains her balance.
he is so strong…my time is shorter than I…so powerful..
Her eyes tear up, the piercing blue clouding with effort.
You will walk alone…only your allies will have the strength to help. Be wary, be strong, be faithful to yourselves. You are a light and fire to banish the night. And it will be dark…so very dark.
losing…can’t remember…he’s taking …no…I will not forget him…
She calls out in a hollow voice, each name like a blow to her, each one causing her to fade from the table until the last is spoken and all that remains is her voice.

hurry…please…hurry..
Those named, start awake on their journey to the funeral, a grim feeling of time being lost weighing on them. Only wisps of the dream remain with them, easy to brush off, until a voice whispers in their ears.
hurry..please...hurry

Hotrek looks up stunned after rushing to save his notes and finding cover from the coming brawl to hear his name being called.

Away at work. Will be back by Monday. AM too tired to post anything.
Hotrek Shieldson |
Am at a Con for the weekend, will try to get as much post as possible.
Ysmerelda, Dawn's Rose |
Ok. I was going to try posting while at my mother's house...
but the only thing available was her Windows 8 laptop...
I have never experienced this level of suck before, how the hell is Microsoft still in business?!
I will post tomorrow, from school.
Game Master Scotty |
As a heads up, things are going to be exceptional difficult for me for a while.
My posting will not be as often as a wish as I deal with some epic problems.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I am at Cthulhu zombie apocalypse.
If you feel it is best to withdraw I understand.
I will try my best to move things forward, however, for now it is a secondary concern.
Major apologies to all for this.
I am not shutting down the game or leaving, but I will not be posting as often for a unspecific time.
Hotrek Shieldson |
I'm still here. I can wait until this is called off.
