Male Drow Ardent 2

Vernal smiles benignly as the blows rain down and the sheer force of his adorable personality prevents most of the harm to him. In honesty, it's hard to tell whether he's dazed or not. He doesn't look any different.

"It's a party bag, everyone! Help yourselves."

Kevaras lights up the bolter, literally, and then races into the old structure. His attack misses, however.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Corpus runs to J16 and attacks both G1 & G2 with duel strike.

Athletics check if I need one = 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Battleaxe on G1, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11, damage = 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Handaxe on G2, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18, damage = 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Suckage meter goes up.

Can't make it there even with a run. Grey squares are rough they cost 2. I moved you six squares and you have a standard action to go still.

Male Drow Ardent 2

Does that include Vernal's +2 to speed for the first round?

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

I could get to J17 and attack G2 but I think I would still miss if I used the first attack roll.

Even with the +2 he could get to J17 and still not be within 1 to attack. He could charge with his standard action if he wanted.

Running gives me +2 movement also.

Where you are on the map now is base move with the Vernal +2. Even with a run you cannot get to both of them. Grey costs 2. You can run and get a single attack on G2, or you could charge to J16 or L18 for MBA chances.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Yes, run and get a single attack on G2 is what corpus does.

Corpus races at the gnomes, heedless of his own safety and swings at one of them.

For time saving, I'll roll it, flicking it to Weapon Masters stike, since you can't use dual strike on one target. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

He misses the gnome, who does seem impressed at the reckless rush. In addition, Corpus marks the gnome.

Naubos sends a magic missile in the dwarf who grunts.

Ovid simply smiles and launches himself at the guards, sweeping through their ranks.

Harmonious Discipline(minor, 2 temp HP, +2 damage to next attack after temp HP removed), move to L21 and use Five Storms(vs Reflex, close burst 1), 4 damage to H2 and slide to N22 if hit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 201d8 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Crit, 14 + 1d6 ⇒ 14 + (6) = 20 damage to H4

I don't see a crit on the die rolls, I see 2 13s, am I missing something?

Ovid races in, jabbing at two of the fallen bandits and sending one sliding across the ground, hurt badly.

Malize races forward and uses magic to attack the mind of the berserker.

Nightmare Eruption: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18. Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10.

The mental attack not only scars the berserker, but the look of fear in his eyes shake his friends as well.

I just saw a twenty and overreacted. Missed that it was the end result and not the roll.

Male Drow Ardent 2

Vernal points a languid finger at H1.

"Kevaras - could you remove him? He's terribly boring."

Ire Strike. And, in passing, the most perfect Vernal power ever. He does nothing at all.
One ally adjacent to him makes a basic melee attack on an enemy. If it hits, that enemy is vulnerable 2 to all damage to the end of Vernal's next turn.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25, on hit: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Directed by Vernal, Keveras lashes out at the bandit, and wounds him more.

Yes! Much better than my last attack!

Male Drow Ardent 2

It's all in the smile :)

Glad you liked the attack Kevaras, I figure for OAs and Vernal attacks I'll roll them for time related reasons, to keep things from bogging down.

Santander sends a gout of fire over the bandits, burning two of them, one badly.

The berserker holds his ground and swings at Vernal.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25. Crit. Damage: 1d12 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 19

His attack hits Vernal deeply, drow blood spraying into the air, and he throws off the mental attack, but that effort drops him to his knees.

The bandits, even with the success of the berserker, have had enough and flee as best they can.

H1 draws OAs from Vernal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 and Kevaras (using Virtous Strike): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17. Kevaras hits for: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 and kills him. H2 avoids OAs. H3 also takes OA from Vernal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 and Kevaras: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14 but both attacks miss. H4 - still slowed - swings at Ovid, shifts, then tries to make his save.

Mace attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15. Miss. Save: 1d20 ⇒ 18

The last of the bandits misses, but then like the berserker, falls to his knees.

The bolter takes time to free himself from the wall and get to the ground.

The skulkers both move (G2 shifts), and then fire at Corpus.

Two crossbow attacks. G1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 and G2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19. Both hit, and they do an extra D6 vs targets giving them CA. Damage for G1: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1) + 3 = 10 and G2: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 5) + 3 = 13. Without the CA from the run, G2 would have missed.

Hmm. I sense that using second wind might be a good plan at this point.

As the various slave races scramble past him, daring to hit him, Vernal's look of mingled pity and disdain causes them all to drop their guard. Hopefully long enough for his comrades to finish them off.

Yeah, definitely. I try to avoid choosing powers that are immediate actions for those reasons.

Vernal DeWynter wrote:

That might not be enough. So Kevaras heals Vernal with Lay on Hands. And Vernal regains HP as if he had spent a healing surge.

"You've earned it!" congratulates Kevaras.

He then moves to M21 and attempts to Ardent Strike the barbarian.
1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 9 + 2 = 18 vs AC for 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 damage. Hit: The barbarian is subject to divine sanction until the end of Kevaras' turn in round 3.

Thanks! Still bloodied, but can probably take a hit now.

Male Revenant (Drow) Tempest Fighter

Shift to L7 and use duel strike.

Battleaxe vs G1, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 = 12, damage = 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Handaxe vs G2, attack vs ac, 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 2 = 14, damage = 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

I assume you mean L16 and not L7. Also, are you marking? You do need to declare that, it's not automatic.

Corpus darts forward, swinging at both gnomes. Thanks to Vernals inpsiring powers, the undead drow hits one of the gnomes - and then the gnome vanishes.

CA from Vernal turns the miss on G2 into a hit. The gnome uses Fade Away as a reaction - it's invisible until it's next attack or until the end of it's next turn.

Move to I23

Santander lays down a curtain of fire around one of the remaining bandits, who is very close to death. He burns even more as he rises and leaves the zone of flames, trying to escape, racing past the hobgoblin.

OA for Santander:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23. Hit. Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Santander strikes him, but the bandit is still on his feet, barely. The other bandit swings at Ovid, then turns to flee.

Invisibility proves to bane at all to Santander is the fire finds the gnome. Since he can't be seen, it's hard to tell how badly he was hurt, but the screams of pain show that the attack did hit him.

The berserker, having no desire to flee normally, and having seen the way the drow led group cut his allies down, swings his axe at Kevaras.
