The one song that can always bring a tear to my eye is 'Right Where It Belongs' by Nine Inch Nails. For some reason I've always listened to it when things in life have been painful.

Roy Orbison did a duet with K.D. Lang on his King of Hearts album. Crying was the song. The song was released when my fiance left with our son. Vince Gill's Go Rest High was played for my dad's funeral. Good times. Good times. Makes you want to start drinking or something...lalala There's a tear in my beer cause I'm crying for you dear. When a friend of mine committed suicide one New Year's Day the song changed forever for me.
This was the song that came up on the the future wife's CD player as we pulled up to her house after the funeral.
Story time - when I had to have my gall bladder out and while a relationship was falling out/apart, a fevered dream of characters shared and entwined with each other turned into the most dramatic of bad endings, or bittersweet at least as everyone pushed themselves to the point of death and beyond, leaving the next generation of heroes to resume from whence they had left off. It was made more poignant that the person who was, effectively, narrating the song is the character of the now-ex. But then, what else aside from mind screws, tears, and confusion would one expect from Komm, süßer Tod?
I'm pretty aloof and reserved in person, like all good New Englanders, but when no one can see me, I tend to bawl like a baby at ridiculously sentimental tv commercials.

The kids song "don't take my sunshine away." When I was a kid I thought it was a song about being kidnapped and taken away from my Mom. I was a weird kid.

When I listen to it, I can clearly imagine everything that David is doing and feeling, from pacing his chamber is stress, being unable to speak, to (when the 1st soprano hits the high C the first time) the first real tear flowing down David's cheek, so filled with grief, that it cuts through his flesh and becomes a tear of blood as it drips from his chin, to tearing his hair out and screaming to the heavens, to falling in a hysterical misery, and eventually falling asleep in a pool of his own tears. ...fade to black, transport back to the present, and listen again to the choir sing of a dire event from so long ago... and the magic of the very end, when just before fading away to nothing, the tension of the imposed 4th resolves to an open 5th, quietly signifying the end.
I highly recommend listening to this piece (and actively listening to it as opposed to simply "hearing" it). Also, try and listen to it all without messing with the volume (the dynamics are part of what makes it great).

Baby of Mine from dumbo gets me bawling like a little b!&~# every single time i hear it.
I know there are weepy numbers out there that do it for me, though at the moment I can't think of one.
There are plenty of emotions, though, other than sentimental weepiness, that a good song can inspire.
I tend to cry when I hear The Search from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. Rarely has yearning, adventure, and mystery been so aptly and beautifully captured in a single piece of music. Most people ignore that one. But listen closely. There's beauty woven all throughout.
Being that, as of this year, most of my friends have either died, moved way far away, or don't want to be my friend anymore (which, I swear, is not as depressing as it sounds), I've been getting misty from a lot of different things (any music that reminds me of basically any of them, which isn't EVERYTHING, but it's close.)
But songs that get me more...reliably, I guess...

The Neko Case song The Tigers Have Spoken really gets me right in gut sometimes.
The song is about crazy tiger who lives in a zoo, isolated and alone, and there is nowhere for him to go and so they have to shoot him on his chain.
Poor tiger.

There's just something about this song about a beautiful and majestic animal that has gone mad with loneliness and sorrow, and doesn't even know what he is...it just breaks my heart every time I hear it.

(I wouldn't have thought that ANY rap music could make ANYONE cry. But really, have you HEARD that song?!? Good lord! No matter what the mood, Eminem just bares his soul, so when he wants to go for "sad" he just pulls at your heartstrings.)
