Spire of Nex - 11 hours???? Wow!

PaizoCon General Discussion

Hi. Just wanted to confirm that the Spire of Nex game session with Erik Mona is really 11 hours long? Is that correct or is that a typo?

Thanks!

It's a tall spire!

11 hours... How DnD should be. Now I just need some Doritos and Mountain Dew.

There will likely be a 1 hour break for food in there, but yes, Erik's Spire of Nex is 2 slots long.

Woot, that sounds cool!

The event has an "end point" to it. Basically, if you get to the end of the first level of the Spire, the event is "over". Next year I will debut a second level of the event, and only folks who have played the first level will qualify (I'll probably run the first level again too).

I ran this last year as a standard 4-hour event twice at last year's PaizoCon, and they didn't get through half of it. I ran the event in a similar slot at Dragonmeet in London, and they did marginally better. At last year's Neon Con I ran it over two rounds until 3 A.M. and the group actually finished it. So I've decided it's essentially a two-round event.

I think it is likely that this event will include a fairly substantial break in the middle and, if the players make smart decisions and the luck of the dice is with them, I think it's achievable in about 8 hours.

Since Josh is running 5-hour slots, though, the length of this ballooned. I'm content to run it as long as it takes in order for the group to finish.

It should be a lot of fun!

I hope we get this...I hope we get this...

My husband and I can go for 11 hours.

Seriously, this seems like the coolest game around to us!

Allow me to clarify - we can GAME for 11 hours together. After that we go to sleep.

Heck, last year I endured 11 hours of Lou's pickup game and survived. I'm definitely up to the challenge of the Spire of Nex!

Bringing my brother this year; here's hoping we get into some killer events like this.

Ah, ok! ;-) But sleep? Sleep is for the weak.

I played in Erik's Spire of Nex game last year and indeed it really does need two sessions.
