Would anyone in the Brisbane area be interested in a (probably monthly or bi-weekly) PFS game?

I'd be willing to GM it, and I know that Ace Comics in Queen St Mall would be willing to host.

Just scouting for interest at the moment, with more planning to follow afterwards...

Calling all Brisbane Pathfinders!

I realise this is likely a dead thread but it is always good to try again!

If any one is interested in a regular PFS game running in Brisbane, put some words on this thread or email me at the address below and let us see whether it can't be made to happen!

To keep the North and South sides happy, am suggesting somewhere in Brisbane. Can either follow up with Ace Comics as Mandreth suggested or there are a couple of other places around that would be suitable.

I am happy to GM. Four people is enough to play. Twenty will require some organising.

Address is dice_munkey(at)hotmail(dot)com

Replace the awkward words in brackets with the appropriate punctuation!

Hi Dice Munkey,

Did you attend PaizoConOz 2010 Brisbane a couple of weekends ago? Edit: yes I see you did. Among the 40 attendees, half were local Brisbane players, the other half flew in from all over Australia for the event - five tables of players per session. So there definitely seems to be Pathfinder interest in Brisbane, it's just a matter of organising game days and getting in touch with each other.

I know not every player is a boards regular, so I've just shot an email to the Brisbane players I have contacts for with a link to this thread.

Note: if you're a Brisbane local who attended PaizoConOz, but didn't receive this email, it could be because you checked "do not want to receive news" when you registered for the event.

If anyone wants to be notified of other Pathfinder game days in Brisbane or elsewhere in Australia, shoot me an email with your name, email address and location (eg, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney etc) and I'll add you to a mailing list for your area.

If anyone else is running local Pathfinder Society game days anywhere within Australia that they want to notify players in their area about, please email me details of the event, and I'll notify any players I have contacts for in your area.

PS, I've been flat out with Unicon running in Melbourne the very weekend after PaizoConOz in Brisbane, but I'll be reporting play sessions from both conventions over the coming week.

Cheers,

hi Dice Munkey, I was also at PaizoConOz 2010 and would be interested in continuing PFS games on a monthly to fortnightly schedule.

I'm located North Side in the Caboolture area and would be fine with either Ace in the city or more preferably Fast Break at Nundah if games could be arranged there. I can't guarantee blanket availability due to family and other social commitments but would endeavor to attend any session I could.

For scheduling i'd recommend Warhorn(dot)net which is the one rpga at Fast Break use and its a pretty good system.

Hi Dice Munkey,

I was at PaizoConOz 2010 and would be interested in continuing PFS games most likely on a monthly schedule. I might occasionally be available for fortnightly sessions. I don't have a strong preference for Nundah or the Ace Comic shops in the city or Annerley. I guess weekends would be the best option for me.

Cheers

Liberty's Edge

I think Fast Break at Nundah would be a great option for many, and there is already a regular Games Night every Friday Night. Yes they mainly play $E, but there is certainly interest there in running PFS games there according to the shop keeper.

I think one or two tables a fortnight for a start would be great to gauge interest.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

Hey!

That makes four people. Please one more person!

Three option for venue seem to be Fast Break (Nundah), Ace Comics (City) or the Edge (State Library, South Bank).

Kalrann's suggesting fortnightly on a Friday night; how does that work with Bacchreus and c873788?

If it is outside of work hours, I am pretty much available and happy to travel. Will follow up on venues over the week and get things rolling.

Cheers,

Dan

the fortnightly friday could work for me depending on which fortnight it is as I have my daughter every 2nd friday night.

Any games going on the South-side of Brisbane or Logan?

I don't have an issue with travel to any of the venues whether it's the south side or northside (we seem to have interest from both sides of the city) provided it's within 15-20k of the CBD.

I would like very much to play fortnightly play but can't promise at this stage to that frequency.

I'm keen to try out a 1st level fighter concept I have in mind and I have a 4th level witch at the moment as far as characters go.

Cheers,

Paul

Lantern Lodge 4/5

It's great to see interest growing for some regular scheduled game days in Brisbane.

With regards to location (north vs south) and time commitments (fortnightly vs monthly), might a good compromise be a monthly game in the north, followed by a monthly game in the south, on alternate fortnights? That way, those who only wish to commit to once a month can pick up games close to home, but those who wish to play more frequently can travel the extra distance every other fortnight. You could share the GM and organisational responsibilities between north and south on alternate fortnights. Or maybe rotate in a city location too, but you get the idea. I'm sure the stores which host the events would each appreciate a share of the customer activity.

Cheers,
DarkWhite

Hey,

I feel I should post here to express an interest. I currently don't have any hard commitments (ie. commitments that can't be changed) on weekday nights or weekends, so anything around Brisbane should be fine...

Hi,
Have been away from keyboard. Sorry.

Glad to see there is interest! I will follow up with both Ace Comics and Fast Break in the coming days and organise times. As Ace Comics is Central to North and South, will try and arrange the first meet up there.

In an effort to get ready, are there any PFS adventures people are itching to play and any I should avoid preparing to GM?

Hi Dan,

I guess we would be starting at level 1. I've played the following level 1-2 scenarios at the recent Paizo Society convention in Brisbane:

Scenario 11: The Third Riddle
Scenario 49: Among the Dead
Scenario 33: Assault on the Kingdom of the Impossible
Scenario 03: Murder on the Silken Caravan
Scenario 37: The Beggar's Pearl
Scenario 04: The Frozen Fingers of Midnight
Scenario 43: The Pallid Plague
Scenario 35: Voice in the Void

I guess my preference would be to avoid playing one of these scenarios if possible but it's really up to you. I'm happy to play in anything though, even if it means replaying something I've already done.

Cheers,

Paul

Just a reminder that replay is only permitted in specific circumstances - ie, the Play Play Play rule, where a table of three players require a fourth to be legal, and you must play a character of a different faction than you previously played the same scenario with. Though if this circumstance does arise, then go for it, as the other players at the table would be most appreciative.

Hi,
I am interested in playing Pathfinder. I am a newbie so be kind. I have played some RPG but not Pathfinder. I have played D&D3.5, Star Wars, Call of Cthulu and some others. Pathfinders RPG seems to be what I am most suited too. I live on the southside of Brisbane and would be available on the weekends. Hope there is someone or a group out there I can join.

Anyone here know gamers that have been affected by the floods and cyclone.

I Have started a blog and want to get gaming material to people who have lost everything in the storms.

If you are aware of anyone who is currently doing it tough and rebuilding please point them here

http://savevsstorm.blogspot.com/

And let them know that while I may not be able to replace everything they have lost I hope that I can at least provide some material so that they can get through the following months when things are going to be tough.

Thanks

Well.. Time to bite the bullet.

I'll be running a session at Ace Comics and Games, Ipswich Road, Annerly, on Sunday 27th. I hope to start around 11, and I'll be there from around 10.

I plan to run

#45: Delirium's Tangle (PFRPG)

but am willing to run a different scenario if influenced by overwhelming popular demand...

I hope to run this fortnightly or monthly.

I hope to see some of you there.

Well, i was just about to post a new event looking for Brisbane PFSOP members to form a new group around Bray Park and came across these posts.

Anyone know of any sessions running north brisbane other than Fast Break?
Its a little ways to go on Friday nights if they are still running but if i have to then i may do so.

Lantern Lodge 4/5

Hi Peter,

Looking for a chance to check out the Beginner Box and celebrate the biggest Pathfinder RPG release since the Core Rulebook? Then you’ll want to head to your local game store for the Beginner Box Bash! The day’s events include four new, one-hour quests highlighting the Beginner Box characters and rules.

Daniel and Ken will be running the Bash! at Good Games Brisbane. This is a great opportunity to meet them and discuss ongoing gaming opportunities in Brisbane.

  • Saturday 29th October - 11am start
    Good Games Brisbane
    74 Little Edward Street
    Spring Hill QLD 4000

The Beginner Box Bash! is also being held in Melbourne and Sydney stores, so please check the participating stores list for dates and locations.

It should be a great event. I hope you can make it!

Cheers,

So where are the PFS events in Brisbane these days?

Lantern Lodge 4/5

Hi BQ,

Coordinators have been in discussion regarding hosting Pathfinder Society at AusCon III in Brisbane to be held 5th, 6th and 7th May, 2012.

There has also been some recent talk among GMs about running some regular Pathfinder Society events in the New Year, but I'll let them respond in more detail.

If you'd like to be added to a mailing list to be notified of upcoming Pathfinder events in Brisbane, or have any other questions regarding Pathfinder Society, feel free to shoot me an email - my contact details can be found by following the the Venture-Captain link below, or on the last page of the current Guide to Pathfinder Society Organised Play.

Hey

I was hoping to get some gaming moving in Brisbane before Christmas, but my plate got stupidly full with some work related LARP Zombie Apocalypse action at the State Library which wound up over the weekend.

Now that this is over, with the New Year looming, things are looking brighter and less busy. I will be pulling together an event sometime in January for Pathfinder Society play. For the first go around, I will be pushing for a Saturday or Sunday, several tables over an afternoon and early evening. Expect a date coming this week after I find out where is available and friendly to our needs. It will most likely be central Brisbane or there about for the sake of ease.

There will definitely be action at Auscon III; we're sorting out the scheduling details at present; we run five hours long and the Auscon sessions run three; which makes for some interesting arrangements we are hoping to resolve over the coming month. Hoping to have a few tables running if there is the interested and support the hell out of Brisbane's biannual gaming event.

Rest assured, as soon as that information is available, the whole of the Brisbane Pathfinder community will be well informed.

Cheers,

Daniel Flood
(AKA. Robor)

Wish I could be there to play!

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

We're kicking off Pathfinder Society play in Brisbane for 2012 and you're invited. We're hoping to play fortnightly, starting with Wednesday 18th January 2012 between 6pm and 11pm.

There will be running two tables on the first night. If either session runs short, and people are interested, there are a bunch of Beginner Box Bash scenarios that are well worth playing.

If you can't make the 18th, never fear; this will be the first of many opportunties for Pathfinder Society play around Brisbane this year. We're starting fortnightly on a Wednesday at Good Games and spreading out from there.

The scearios on offer on the 18th are...

Scenario #39: The Citadel of Flame (Tier 1–2 and 4–5)
Once the home to a cult preaching self-sacrifice by immolation in order to achieve paradise, the Citadel of Flame in Qadira's Meraz Desert was presumably wiped out decades ago after Sarenrae dervishes led a crusade to end its morbid message. An enormous sandstorm swallowed both the citadel and the army attacking it, burying both beneath hundreds of feet of sand. Thought lost forever, the citadel's rediscovery prompts the Pathfinder Society to send you deep in the unforgiving Meraz to finally close the book on Qadira's most mysterious cult.

and...

Scenario #2-11: The Penumbral Accords (Tier 1-2 and 4-5)
The daughters of Absalom's mysterious Blakros family have long been among the most pursued maidens in the Inner Sea. Now the family's matriarch approaches the Pathfinder Society to help her break a centuries-old pact with the denizens of the Plane of Shadow to save her twin daughters from a life of servitude at the hands of the Onyx Alliance. Heading into the fan-favorite adventuring location of Blakros Museum, the PCs have only a short amount of time to break the Penumbral Accords and solidify the Pathfinder Society's ties to the powerful Blakroses.

If you're on Facebook, it would be awesome if you could click through and add yourself as coming to the event, so we can track numbers and let you know if anything changes.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

We're back with the second night of Pathfinder Society goodness at Good Games Brisbane Wednesday 1st February between 6pm and 11pm.

The scenarios on offer on the 1st are...

Pathfinder Society Scenario #8: Slave Pits of Absalom (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5)
Someone kidnapped Lady Anilah Salhar—the Chelish wife of Dremdhet Salhar, one of Osirion's many Grand Ambassadors to Absalom—and sold her into slavery. With Salhar holding delve permits over the heads of the Decemvirute, the Pathfinders are sent to assist the Osirian Ambassador. Venturing into Absalom's darkest corners to save Lady Anilah, the Pathfinders must face the secrets of the Slave Pits to avoid becoming slaves themselves.

and...

We Be Goblins! Sanctioned Pathfinder Module
The Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have stumbled upon a great treasure—fireworks! Yet unfortunately for them, the tribe member responsible for the discovery has already been exiled for the abhorrent crime of writing (which every goblin knows steals words from your head). To remedy this situation, the Licktoads’ leader, His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad, has declared that the greatest heroes of the tribe must venture forth to retrieve the rest of the fireworks from a derelict ship stranded in the marsh.

Hi All

Someone i know of wargamerau.com and myself are looking for a PFS game with some in Brisbane preferable south side (myself Mt Gravatt, him Moorooka).

We prefer to play, but either of us might be willing to DM and then change over at some point (myself from an adventure path).

I prefer to play bi-weekly on a night after 7:30 as I have kids. Anyone interested drop me a line.

Lael.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

Hi Lael,

I feel the Southside pain; I am out Runcorn way. That said, if you can make it, we would love you playing with us.

We have a fortnightly Wednesday game running at the moment over at Good Games in Springhill from 6pm. We're playing at Good Games as they're open late (till @ 11pm) weeknights. We have one or two tables a fortnight playing

The primary challenge we're finding with starting much later than 6:30pm is the creep of hours. Season 3 adventures run 4.5 to 5 hours long, which would leave them running till past midnight on a bad day, which a lot people can't do.

We will be kicking off a fortnightly Sunday afternoon game around the State Library of Queensland in March (exact start date coming soon). I am also in the planning for PFS play at Auscon III this May.

The Next Wednesday night we're playing is the 29th of February. The adventures are Before the Dawn—Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise and Tide of Morning.

Feel free to email me at if there is any details you want to know or to be added to the mailing list that we have going.

Cheers,

Keeping people in Brisbane in the loop about Pathfinder Society play opportunities. Here is the up coming adventures being offers at Good Games Brisbane on Wednesday the 14th of March at 6pm.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-02: Before the Dawn—Part II: Rescue at Azlant Ridge (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, and 6–7).

With supplies in hand, you rush from Bloodcove to the Pathfinder expedition site at Azlant Ridge only to find it under siege. You must brave the newly discovered halls beneath the ridge in order to find the key that might save everyone.

Rescue at Azlant Ridge is the second and final scenario in the Before the Dawn campaign arc and is the sequel to Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-01: Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise.

and...

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-05: Tide of Twilight (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).

In researching a recently recovered druidic lorestone, the Pathfinder Society learns of a powerful artifact with the power to turn men into bestial abominations. Amid claims of increased werewolf activity in the region, the PCs travel into the heart of the Verduran Forest to retrieve the valuable relic from a cabal of evil druids believed to currently hold it.

If people could email and let us know what scenario's they are interested in playing, that would be awesome. Email me at pathfinder_society_brisbane@creakingchair.com.

Pathfinder Society @ Brisbane Good Games (28th March 2012)
The proposed scenarios are as follows for the next fortnights gaming...

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-16: The Midnight Mauler (levels 3–7).

The Decemvirate sends members of the Pathfinder Society to the former crown jewel of Ustalav's royal courts, the decaying city of Ardis. Tasked by the Society to look into the fate of Absalom's former Master of Blades, Vonran Vilk, what they find will lead to exploration, diplomacy, murder, haunted pasts, and tragic love. Can the PCs stop the rampage of the Midnight Mauler before he kills again?

"The Midnight Mauler" was originally an exclusive adventure, run only by 4-star Pathfinder Society GMs, Venture-Captain and Venture-Lieutenant campaign volunteers, and Paizo staff for its first year, but has been revised and updated for public release

Sorry for the late notice for this weeks sessions; Easter and work got in the way. Here are the sessions for this Wednesday (11th April) night, where we are going old school with a trip to the Blackros Museum and a night at the Oppara opera.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #5: Mists of Mwangi (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5).

Pathfinder Lugizar Trantos recently returned from the Mwangi Expanse with haunted eyes and a pack full of strange idols. Absalom's famed Blakros Museum purchased his pieces and Lugizar vanished. The strange monkey idols he pulled from the misty jungles of Mwangi carry with them a fell curse, and now their power has laid claim to the museum. Can the Pathfinder Society uncover the source of the curse in time, or will the Blackros Museum be forever lost to the mists of Mwangi?

and...

Pathfinder Society Scenario #7: Among the Living (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, 6–7).

Famed Pathfinder Bodriggan Wuthers disappeared from his dig site beneath the House of the Immortal Son in Taldor's gilded capital of Oppara. Once a grand temple to Aroden, the Immortal Son is now Oppara's most opulent theater. Sent to locate Wuthers, the Pathfinders must attend an opera with members of the Oppara elite in order to gain access to the secretive theater's dig site. When a cult crashes the performance and the nobility change into hideous walking dead, the Pathfinders are forced to choose between finding Wuthers or saving themselves.

If people could email and let us know what scenario's they are interested in playing, that would be awesome. Email me at pathfinder_society_brisbane@creakingchair.com.

NB: As a heads up, hopefully we'll be kicking off the weekend games either this Sunday or the following, starting with the just released Season 3 scenario The God's Market Gamble.

Yep, it will be kicking off at 5pm rather than 6pm (we have the ANZAC day public holiday and can kick off earlier without work to get in the way) with Decline of Glory and City of Strangers Part One. Will post the open update on the forum right now.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

Yep, we're running late this fortnight again; the cold and flu have beaten people round the head. As this week is ANZAC Day public holiday, the suggestion is to kick it off at 5pm rather than 6pm so people can get home earlier. If people have a huge issue with this, please let us know.

#51: The City of Strangers—Part I: The Shadow Gambit (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, and 6–7).

The Pathfinder Society sends you to Kaer Maga, the City of Strangers, where you are ordered to find a local Pathfinder associate who sent a strange letter to Venture-Captain Drandle Dreng in Absalom. When the local associate turns up dead and you find evidence linking his death to a mysterious organization called The Shadow Lodge, it's up to you to track them down and solve the man's murder.

The Shadow Gambit is the first scenario in the two-part The City of Strangers campaign arc. Pathfinder Society Scenario #52: The City of Strangers—Part II: The Twofold Demise is the sequel.

and

#24: Decline of Glory (Tiers: 1–2, 3–4, and 6–7).

When the son of a famous Pathfinder gains control of his father's holdings in Taldor, the Pathfinder Society decides to build a new lodge there as a base to explore the many ruins of that crumbling empire. Unfortunately, the Taldan Phalanx has its eye on the holdings and an ancient curse has turned many of the residents into the walking dead. Can you survive the tangled web of Taldor's politics and fight off the echoes of the past or will you, too, see your glory decline?

As always, if people could email and let us know what scenario's they are interested in playing, that would be awesome. Email me at pathfinder_society_brisbane@creakingchair.com.

First NB: On the note of Sundays, there will be sessions running Sunday 29th April between 12pm and 6pm. It was going to be today but illness has gotten in the way. Information coming to you all about these sessions Tuesday afternoon, along with times and venue details.

Second NB: Taking a note out of the Shadow Lodge Pathfinder Society in Sydney, we'll be giving the Warhorn site a go for managing sessions and organised play. That should be up and running sometime this week; just waiting on the organisers to set up a site for us.

Liberty's Edge 4/5 ** Regional Venture-Coordinator, South Pacific

Hi All!

We're kicking off Sunday sessions of Pathfinder Society @ Brisbane this week with a running of the newest Season 3 scenario The Gods Market Gamble at The Edge, State Library of Queensland.

#3-18: The God's Market Gamble

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

Valuable relics of religious natures have been disappearing on their way into Absalom and the Pathfinder Society stands to lose countless irreplaceable artifacts if the cause isn't found. Amid the bustling markets of the God's Market in the shadow of the Starstone Cathedral, the Society sets a plan in motion to ensure the parties responsible for the recent thefts are caught and brought to justice.

In Brisbane we are trialing the use of the Warhorn site to manage the registration of players for regular play. If you're up for gaming this Sunday, head to the Warhorn site, click on the session listed for April 29th and follow the prompts.

If that all proves to hard, email me and let us know you're interested in playing; we'll get you registered the hard way. Email address is pathfinder_society_brisbane@creakingchair.com.

First NB: There will only be one table this Sunday; we're seeing how it goes. Please check back here Sunday morning to check whether we have minimum numbers to run a session or whether the event has been canceled due to lack of interest.

If there are any issues finding The Edge (ie. getting lost), please give me a call on 0466 696 480.
