Gen Con?

PaizoCon General Discussion

Sorry for putting this in the Paizo Con forum, but it seemed the closest location, topic-wise, for my thread.

I assume that it’s a guarantee that Paizo will be going to Gen Con in August. My question is, have you decided which of the staff will be attending and are you able to say? I would like to meet you and even ask some questions in person about Pathfinder.

I know Paizo Con is probably the best for that, but it’s either Gen Con or Paizo Con and I’ve already gotten my room for Gen Con and already planning to go with several of my friends. Maybe if it was closer (I live in IL) I could swing it.

Yeah, they are usually there en masse...as far as who is attending, I'd say it's a safe bet that the majority of the editorial/development staff will be there.

Great, that's what I wanted to hear. Thanks Lilith. :)

Dark Archive

I'm hoping to get my APG signed. Not sure how they handle those types of request though. I'm sure they can't sign everyone's book.

You just need to be persuasive. Free beer and pizza might help. :P

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

We'll have a large presence at Gen Con—after all, we're debuting the Advanced Player's Guide, the Pathfinder novel line, and the next Pathfinder Adventure Path there, along with a bunch of other things. And any employees you catch with a free moment will be happy to sign any of our products for you.

Some of their lowly freelancers will be there as well. And some of them have games they want to run off schedule, or have wont to play in games too and missed the actual sign up and are cursing their luck at the moment for that faux pas. ;)

I have also been scrabbling for the appropriate category to post a GenCon inquiry in. This is my first GenCon and I don't want to miss out on all the "big" events. Are there any special Paizo sponsored Roleplaying events scheduled? So far, all I can see scheduled for Pathfinder events are the Society scenarios. I will likely be signing up for one of those, but any recommendations would be appreciated.

This, I can help with. What I would recommend doing is type in “Pathfinder” when already in the “Role Playing Games” section. It will bring up a list of all Pathfinder RPGs, Society or otherwise. The Society games will be actual numbered events with the scenario names, the number representing which scenario it is. You will also find scenarios without the numbers. I am assuming those are Pathfinder RPG sessions as well, but non-Society. I signed up for a few of both.

Although I am not sure which ones will be open now. When I signed up a couple weeks ago, a lot was already filled. But even still, you can always purchase general tickets and show up at events you want to try and maybe you can get in (like if there is a no show).

Have fun!
