to incorporate the Pathfinder glyph (the game symbol, not the product logo) in a local PFS club crest? It will never be reproduced for profit, but I do plan to make a run of shirts/mugs for our members.

Grazie.

I'm going with yes. But maybe we should clarify, you are talking about an image included in the Community Use packages right? (I think you are referring to the Glyph of the Open Road?)

Short version of the above (I think) is that you can incorporate it into your logo, but if you want to do the shirts and mugs you are paying the entire cost out of pocket. Incidentally, this is not legal advice, so if you want to know exactly, might want to wait for a real answer from someone in charge.

If you're talking about the glyph from the Community Use package, yes, you can use it under the Community Use Policy, so long as you satisfy all of the requirements of that policy (including and especially the bit about "you cannot sell or otherwise charge anyone" for materials created under the policy).

Well obviously he could have the members buy the shirts and mugs BEFORE the crest was put on without there even being a question. I'd also think that he'd be able to recoup the cost of having the emblem put on since he's not actually charging for the emblem, just for the labor of modifying the shirts (provided that there's no mark-up), but I'm no lawyer either (just a Qadiran).

It looks as if you would be in the clear if you charged a membership fee and members received a 'free' mug and shirt.

Thanks all for replies!

I have an account on one of those made to order, cafepress stores. As long as I do not make any profit on the design, reserving access to only our members and 'charging' what it cost me to make the stuff, I believe that should satisfy the Clerics of Abadar!

This is what I've been working on:
