Victoriana—2nd Edition

Silver Crusade

To anyone that has played/run this system: How easy was it to get into? How rules-light/heavy? Is it a good system for a new GM to try? On a scale of 1 to 10 monocles, how classy is it?

They did a preview adventure with trimmed rules and it seemed fairly intuitive upon reading. Not tried to play it yet though.

I played a lot of Vic 1st Edition and it was a lot of fun (It was an R.talsorion/ fusion version).

the magic and combat needed a little houseruling, but nothing that you couldn;t fix in 5 minutes.

They had good rules for chases and setpiece encouters (fighting in a kitchen, on top of a moving train, on the doscks, etc) and there was a LOT of emphasis on Roleplaying.

And the background and source material were great. (They did a few supplements, including The SMoke...which was a comprehensive look at 1880's london...)

But I'd love to know how compatible 2E is with the 1E stuff.

Is this it's own set of rules or a supplementary set for another game, such as Pathfinder?

Victoriana is its own system—the 3rd edition version is available for preorder here.
