Can you provide the material component for a spell cast by a Summoned creature?

So can you summon a creature and then provide it the material component for a spell it can cast?

I imagine so. What summoned creature has spellcasting though? What is the specific instance that you need help with?

What exactly are you trying to do?

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

No reason why not, but most monsters you can summon use spell like abilities and not spells.

I think he is wanting Djinni wishes and chain gated Solars. There is a rule, if I remember correctly, stating that summoned critters cannot use SLAs with expensive material components so as to avoid wish factories and chain gates of unstoppable beings.

However, since you are having to pay for the expensive material component yourself, I don't see why not. It's no different than hiring a spellcaster to cast something for you.

Silver Crusade

The Rules say "cannot" cast certain spells. They do not say it is because the creature lacks the materials. They simply are prohibited for the aforementioned abuse it could cause and thus unbalance the game.

As I'm aware, the creatures for which Wish could be abused are no longer on any Summon lists (Raise Dead remains, which would be prohibited), and the way the Gate spell reads now, gating Solars would be a waste of time as would Noble Djinni since you have to cut a deal with them for services.
