Please send me an email at wickedkgames@gmail.com and we'll go from there. Thanks! :D

R_Chance - It only really gets difficult when my son gets more teeth in, then he goes from manageable to a handful. My playtesters have been swamped with their personal lives, but this kinda thing happens.

I'm admittedly not one to go about the normal procedure for publishers releasing things, so this idea may sound strangle... Would the four of you be interested in proofing for a free copy, updates, and named playtester credits?

I've been their with the munchkins (I have three, all in high school or college now). My wife was working undercover when they were tiny munchkins. Diapers and teething were so much fun...

I teach these days and my prime gaming season starts next week. Thank God for summer (and no summer school to teach this year). Anyway if you need playtesting let me know.

I have to apologize for not responding sooner, the RSS usually tells me when their is a new post, but it hasn't in a while, so I came in to manually check it.

I am trying to get together a workable demo as I type this (thanks Lawful Neutral) and would love to have your help R_Chance. My new email listed above is the best way to start this out.

I apologize to you all for not having this online yet, quality control is a tricky thing, and I'd rather this come out like Windows Seven (or XP) instead of Windows Vista. Rest assured however, I am pushing forward to bring this to light ASAP. Thanks all.

Just an update... Good news and bad news. The cards are done (Woohoo!), but the file size is WAY too big. We're talking over a GB each. Right now I am working to shrink that down significantly. I'll update soon when I have more to explain on this, but the release is around the corner. :D

Wait that's not your cards that LPJ design just released?

No, that is his product. My cards will be for all classes in one bundle.

Actually, to be honest I am in the process of going independent. If everything goes alright, my products will be sold on Paizo.com! Louis and I still have a good professional relationship, and this wasn't a move in any sort of negativity. At this point I am moving onto publishing myself. I'll still be updating the character sheets and the initiative cards, and they'll still be released under Wicked K Games and Louis Porter Jr Design.

My biggest frustration with rpgnow.com was that the preview for the character sheets broke and they just couldn't fix it. Although Paizo doesn't have previews, I'll still be setting them up through WKG's facebook page until we have a website of our own.

I will have to make sure the releases conform to Paizo's standards, but this was something I had planned on anyways. :D

On a similar note, I have talked to some 3PP about doing their spell books... While I cannot say anything yet, things are looking positive!

Ah ok, I didn't know that you had planned to go your own way. Well keep us up to date on this then and let us know which one is yours when it comes out.

Glad to hear you're going ahead with your spell cards. I suspect you'll have the better product. Doubly glad to hear you'll be going through the Paizo store. I've had any number of minor issues with RPG Now that I have never had with Paizo.

I just stumbled across this thread and i've got to say i've been looking for something like this. It will save me so much time trying to make my own spell cards. I like the way they look in the previews you posted and i'm looking forward to buying these puppies!

Dark_Mistress - I should have a domain name and such shortly. My friend and I sat down and discussed the details today... :D *finger crossed*

R_Chance - I appreciate the compliment. :) I tried to add some bells and whistles where I could (like the definitions of both the blindness condition and deafness condition for the Blind/Deafness spell back. I'm still trying to get the cards down to a reasonable size (so far I've trimmed it 70%)... as soon as I meet the qualifications to sell, these will be going up.

Polevoi - Glad to be of service! I'm hoping to have these out ASAP.

The next companion product that will go with this will be the summon cards. As an extra feature I'm going to try to include cards for everything that is used in spells (cards for the hand/fist spells, cards for animated objects, etc). One thing at a time though... ;)

One minor thing to mention... According to the compatibility agreement, referencing page numbers is a no-no, as it may not match with future updates. It does make sense though.. I'll have to leave that field blank... not a huge deal though as the content for reference should all be on the front and back already. This box should still serve well when referencing 3PP stuff though. :)

At this point I'm mainly waiting on my IT guy to get my website, hosting, and domain name set up. From there I'll have to touch base with Paizo again. Just wanted to let you all know what is going on.

Thanks. Good to see you're going forward.

I've got the domain name bought and set. Now I'm just waiting on my friend to set up the site. If it takes much longer I may have to initially release things on www.rpgnow.com. I apologize to everyone waiting, I'm feeling the frustration too.

R_Chance and Dark_Mistress - Would either/both of you be interest in reviewing this product?

Dark Archive

I review any and everything that is 3pp pathfinder. Though with the double paizo order this month including the APG and DMG last month. I doubt I can afford to pick it up to august sometime.

You've put forth a lot of feedback and support thus far. This would be provided to you from Wicked K Games free of charge. :) Same goes for anyone doing a preview review. Thanks!

Although I may be waiting, I'm still using this time to do little tweaks and such. I just left a message for my IT guy. I hope to get this resolved soon!

The planned price point for this product is $5.99 for the entire set of everything. The complete set will have the ability to edit existing cards. Separately individual classes will be available, but not editable. These will be available at $1, except for the Cleric/Oracle/Domain set, Sorcerer/Wizard/Bloodline set, and the Witch/Familiar set. Due to their size and scope, they will be available for $1.49.

Do these prices seem fair to you?

I am still going to offer any 3PP putting out a spellbook the ability to have their spells ported to uneditable cards. The only catch is that they have to link to the original and they can't raise the price for the added content. It's meant to be a free add-on for those that have purchased the 3PP spellbooks.

Dark Archive

5.99 for all the spells yeah I would say that's more than fair if you earlier examples are what we can expect. Sames goes for the other ones. Consider I believe that will make you by far the cheapest for such a product.

And you don't have to give me anything. I offer feedback and do reviews for companies. To help them make better products and to help them sell products. Plus to help consumers like me find products they like. By doing this I help the company do better, which in turn means they make more products. If I like said products then it is good for me, so it is a win win for everyone. That's why I do it. :)

Yup and looking forward to it!!!

Sounds like a steal to me!

Thanks, but I doubt I'd have the time to review it right now. Whether I did or not I'd prefer to pay for the product. You put a lot into it and produce a quality product. That deserves support.

Thanks everyone for being so supportive! I try to be reasonable on prices so more people can afford to enjoy them. I've often said it that this community has some really great people, and it repeatedly rings true.

I can't wait for these to come out myself either. I'm trying to learn a little dreamweaver right now to build websites. You know that old saying, if you want something done right, you may have too do it yourself. :p

One other note: I'll be doing some free little projects soon too. I'm going to put out an alignment tool and a free character sheet (kinda like an intro to the ACP). :)

I would also check into PHP it is pretty simple and most host sites offer the software for free.

Dark_Mistress - Sounds good to me! I'll definitely look into it. I've been getting a little antsy myself. I've used the time to comb through and fine tune the pdfs.

One of my playtesters, who has a complete printed set of the cards, expressed the feelings that the empty boxes (CL, MOD, DC, Conc.) were wasted space. He told me he wanted to laminate the final set, and that writing in the boxes with something like that (which changes) would prematurely were out the cards. They suggested changing it out for something more useful like information on permanency.

I can see the value as both a GM and as a player. If the workload and time wasn't an issue, would this seem an improvement to you, or do you prefer the four empty fill-in boxes?

(PS... Thank you google chrome for being post-monster lunch proof! It ate my post, but with chrome, you can hit back and it's all still there!)

I'd prefer the empty boxes, but they're going to be useful either way.

I'm with R_Chance I prefer the empty boxes too. But I think if you asked a bunch of people they would be all over. For those that don't use 3pp stuff then the empty boxes are a waste. For those of us that do use 3pp stuff then they are very nice feature.

So noted. :) I found a new technique in making the cards that results in being able to update all of them in a couple hours instead of a couple weeks. As a result I've been trying to go back and see if there are any little tweaks that can be done to improve their usefulness while I wait. If this weekend the website isn't up, I'll go through with the process of selling on rpgnow.com. I still HIGHLY prefer going through paizo, but them's the breaks.

On the other hand, I went back and checked the amount of spells that use the shaped box. It's 14 out of 717. I moved it into the top right box, the dismiss entry became a box (it's yes or no anyway), and the dismiss box is permanency.

It would look like this:

I've also uploaded a final image for the backs:

If you prefer the original front, let me know and I'll stop my tinkering. :) There's no loss of information, only a single blank line and check box, so I thing it's a pretty good gain. Thanks again all!

Looks cool and not sure which font I prefer.

It looks good. As for vendors, I'd prefer Paizo, but I'll manage with rpg.now

For heaven's sake just sell them so you can make some money :)

Sorry for the delay. The process for selling on RPGnow has been initiated. :) I also talked to a friend about paying her to complete the work on my site. A little negotiation is left to contend with, but this is looking likely.

My fingers are crossed that I'll be able to log into my publisher account tonight and put this up before the weekend. If that happens I'll put up a new announcement thread and cross link them. [/excited]

Awesome! Can't wait!

Excellent. I'm looking forward to this. Well, this and the APG which will probably add to your workload :)

Alright! I'm approved and everything is ready to go! There's a little good news and bad news. The bad news is I need one last permission email from One Shelf Books to put the editable spell cards into a 7-Zip format. If you are wondering why this is such a big deal, then I'll explain like this:

The Winzipped version of the file takes up nearly a whole GB! Downloading something that big takes a while (lots of bandwidth) and takes up a lot of space when not in use. Using 7-Zip (a better version of Winzip IMHO) brings the same file down to a tiny 5 MB! That's right, 200 times smaller!

I'll post an email for response, but either way this will be available today even if I have to border on the 1 GB file limit.

If you haven't had a chance to check out 7-Zip (that handles .7z files) it is completely free and you can find it here at download.com.

The individual files for class by class will be available later this week (I wanted to put the whole bundle up first). The individual classes will not be editable, but the main file (The Master Compendium) will be.

[bigger]One last note of importance! Non-core spells are a no-go. I did not find a way to use them without "scrubbing" them. The Paizo products that they originate from are open content, but are not available under Usage Requirement, Exhibit B. I will still be releasing a separate set for the APG, and the free sets for 3PP.

Any suggestions or recommendations for changes on release will be received with open ears! Thanks all and look for your names on the Thanks page (right after the cover).

One more thing - if there is enough interest I may do a A4 and A6 format version of this. It's something I plan to do with the character sheets too...

I tried and had, what for me, is the usual issue with rpgnow. I'm going to try again later tonight. The website wouldn't finish loading the payment page. Again. Despite my having an excellent connection. Usually if I try again late at night, it works...

Sorry to hear you're having an issue... I figured what is probably wrong with the character sheet's preview, but this one's preview is giving me a hard time. I had to scrap when I first submitted it since it tried to street date it at midnight. This is my first solo go, so I'm learning... :)

I'll be adding all the print by class options in a couple day and I'll be releasing the individual class files. Be sure to check back for the additional file. :D

Well, 11:00 rolls around and no problem. Page loaded, order complete. Downloading as I type. Thanks!

Great! I hope you like them! I hated the release taking so long, but there was a lot accomplished in getting there.

(To R_Chance & Dekfathr1) Let me know what you think and if they're is something you'd like to see done. :)

Man, I love that they're done in a couple of different printing formats! Haven't had a chance to really go through them too much yet, but so far from what I've seen they're fantastic!

All the info on the front of the card really gives you a great deal of detail, and I think the added touch of including the check boxes to indicate if a given spell is modifiable by particular metamatic feats ia an awesome reference tool. Plus I like that there are a few blanks there in case you want to add your own custom metamagic feats.

Pretty much what he said :) Very useful and very well done. If I see / think of anything I'll post on it.

Did anyone else have a problem with "Second Set - Quarters?"

Second Set Index works fine, but Quarters gives m e10 pages repeating the same four cards:

Astral Projection Part II
Arcane Sight/Greater Arcane Sight Part II
Binding Part II
Atonement Part II

I just tried it -- same here. It apparently has just the 4 in it. I would imagine a fix will be forthcoming.
