So I realize we are working with beta rules still, but I came across this combo and was just like "hmmm I'm not sure how I would adjudicate that" so I thought I would throw it out here.

Quote:
Crystal Sight (Ex): You can see through stone, earth, or sand as easily as if it were transparent crystal. Your gaze can penetrate a number of feet equal to your oracle level, or 1/12th this thickness of metal. You can use this ability a number of rounds per day equal to your oracle level, but these rounds do not need to be consecutive.

So given the above definition, if the character had the clouded vision curse, and was sufficiently high enough level for the blind sense or blind sight abilities. Would they function together? Or does only "normal vision" with normal light restrictions apply, since blind site is usually though of as "echo location" which isn't going to work through "stone or sand that is as transparent as crystal."

I'm inclined to say it would work because "its magic" but I'm interested to here peoples thoughts.

Gaze is sight, this is a sight based power, so only your sight would go through it. If you were completely blind you won't see a thing (the blind curse isn't complete blindness so you could see out to your maximum sight allowed by the blind curse).

So lets just say you are a special breed of troll who grew up in the dark of the underdark, and over the millennia you have adapted to have blind sight. Does blind sight count as "gaze" or sight? Or is it a world of its own.

Blind sight isn't actual sight, hence why you aren't subject to the effects of gaze attacks or sight based illusions.

Very good point, thanks.
