The greater good and evil

Rules Questions

if you are concerned with the greater good and only want to help people be free and have good lives does committing evil acts once in a while forgive you of your crimes?

Good and Evil are imaginary constructs. Do as you please.

The Exchange

Not in the D&D world, they're not. Having a minor indiscretion here or there doesn't really matter for most people, but Paladins and certain clerics can walk a tightrope on that one. If a paladin had to commit certain evil acts for the greater good he would probably need to seek atonement (as per the spell) regularly. For the rest of the world, however (for people that don't have class features tied to their alignment), the real question is "can you forgive yourself?"

thanks
