Recurring AoW NPCs?

Age of Worms Adventure Path

Does anyone have (or know of) a list of all the NPCs (friends or foes) that show up again later in the path? Ideally, it would list all the adventures each character appears in.

The main one that keeps coming up for me as a player is Allustin.
I'll see if my DM has a list like that or will make one.

Liberty's Edge

Balabar Smenk has been the recurring NPC for the campaign.

He blackmailed the party into taking out the cultists, as stated in the storyline of 3FoE, but the party took a few days to prepare their assault. In the interim, the Faceless One kidnapped Smenk and several children from Diamond Lake.

The children reappeared, changed and rather creepy. They kept following the PCs everywhere, just looking at them. It really wigged them out.

Smenk, for his betrayal, was changed into a Tainted Raver, from Heroes of Horror, and after the party escaped from the temple complex, Smenk began hunting them. As the party levelled-up, I had him change in nature to maintain the threat level, changing him into a Sepulchral Thief, also from Heroes of Horror.

He attacked them as they fled the lizard folk lair in Blackwall Keep.

He attacked them again in the streets in Hall of Harsh Reflections.

He attacked them again at the sage's house at the end of Champion's Belt.

He ambushed them in the Ebon Temple in Prince of Redhand.

I used him in place of the Kenku Assassin in the Library of last Resort, where the party finally defeated him (they believe).

Another NPC I have made great use of was a fellow mentioned in one of the Wormfood Articles, who was a magical tattoo artist, Yallix (sp?)

I altered him a bit. He is a painter, who paints prophetic images of the characters. He shows up in random places, at random times, and presents the party members with his latest works. Most of them have very distrubing imagery. Not graphically gross, but creepy.

I think looking at the AP as written the main recurring NPC is Allustan. I do not believe any other NPC plays as large a role as he does from a number of appearances perspective (Whispering Cairn, Three Faces of Evil, Blackwall Keep and A Gathering of Winds).

Eligos is in two of the adventures. Lashonna is in at least two. Celeste is in two. Manzorian as written is in at least two as well (I think).

I do plan on having a number of NPC's reoccur in my campaign. Allustan (he is written that way anyway), Theldrick (if possible), the Faceless One, Loris Raknian (who already appeared), Eligos (who already appeared), Manzorian, and Celeste (who already appeared though she is only a minor character anyway). Whether or not anyone else from Diamond Lake reappears again remains to be seen though my characters will see Tolliver Trask again in a Gathering of Winds.

Yup, Allustan is reoccuring NPC as written.
However the Faceless One is going to take up the flag for recurring villin. After all he is a simulacrum.

Good God, I wish I had thought of that.

He steals people's faces and wears them Hannibal Lecter style.

Bit of magic and know one can tell the difference.
Now where has Allustan been...

Yep. Making him a simulacrum permits nice story tricks... More ideas on that topic on this thread.

For my part, I will use the will-bending, shapeshiting avolakias as secret, behind the scenes masterminds, first in the Whispering Cairn, then in Hall of Harsh Reflections.

My group just completed the temple of Hextor...I will post what happens in the "Tweakings" thread above.

Smarnil- My group hate me now :)

Congratulations! That's the way to go: don't stop 'til they throw you stones. Or dice. Or whatever snack you eat while playing. That what screens are made for. :)

- IMC, Allustan was shunned by the party and did not show up again.
- Instead, Filge is the one who shows up every now and then (he is way cooler than Allustan). After finally agreeing on some sort of truce and being moderately helpful to their cause, he will have his last appearance in KoTR, replacing the ominous fabler :)
- Loris Raknian will return to Kyuss side (he was killed in CB, but death is a very temporary condition in D&D)
- I incorporated "Return of the Eight", an AD&D 2nd Ed. gem by Roger Moore, right between CB and AGoW. Thus, Tuerney the Merciless had a second appearance right after Zeech's party, when the PCs, unarmored and a little drunk, headed for the Deluxury.

In our AoW game Filge was let loose way back in Diamond Lake.

Later, he resurfaced in Alhaster as a merchant.

Now, the same group is playing in Savage Tide (set 15 years after our AoW campaign) and Filge has two sons who run a Taxidermist/Potions/Sundries shop.

Talk about recurring name-dropping! I was waiting to see Smenk pop up after we had run him out of Diamond Lake but nope, Filge again. Haha!

My PCs captured the Faceless One alive, as he was trying to throw himself in the pool, so I was rather puzzled if and how I'd introduce the Ebon Aspect.

But then one of them stabbed their prisoner, while the paladin was busy taking the injured up the elevator, so the prophecy was back on!

He was freaked by the fact The Faceless One dissolved, into the same black liquid of the pool, but he was able to save face, by arguing that this 'proved' the FO was only faking unconsciousness, and was killed 'while trying some sneaky s$%+'.
