Drumas replies, I am sure there are allies to be found, but i cannot tell you where. Most good dragons believe that sleeping through it is the solution and may try to force you to do so, there are other goodly folk who will help you if you can find them.
The chromatics will oppose you as you try to do good but most would not be against you if they actually believed you could stop the rage

"I say we start with the elves. They started this, they must know a way to end it!"
Wilhem here. I am still flushing out my character, just have basic stats up for now. Will fill in the rest over the weekend.
looks good so far, your alignment will have to be neutral good or chaotic good
I am running a DMPC gold dragon called Aurion, he is paladin
as we are both gold dragons we will actually be siblings
we are also both front line fighters , im thinking serious competitiveness here!! and how we think we should fight evil will be quite different (especially if you are chaotic!)

Drumas says to zarrosh's comment
the Elves are much diminshed and have lost much of their lore, it is likely that no elf alive knows that they were responsible for the rage, tread with care if you talk to any elves about this
Lllaelian here. Herensuge is ready minus some items, one feat and spell selection
Herensuge stirs from the last remains of his egg, having hatched after some of his companions and join the conversation.
If not the elves, I would think maybe some powerfull diviners may be able to help us. When I was dreaming, I also encountered a envoy from Bahamut (Good dragon god) . We should try to find some of them in this world. Would you know where we might find some of them ?

Drumas is about to answer your questions when there is a pained expression across his face, "I sense danger in the real world, something evil has invaded our sanctum in the real world
AWAKE MY CHILDREN AND FAREWELL!"
drumas disappears and you all start to break through your shells and hatch
(please note you have no equipment but do have spells and i will not count you as having hatched until you post)

At the elder dragon warning, Herensuge tears at his eggshell with frantic efforts. As the eggshell ruptures, a cold wind escapes, followed by a silvery head.
Looking around for intruders, the small silver dragon claws his way out of the shell and drops on the ground, extending his wings for the first time. Without pausing, his voice raises to incant a protection from evil spell. If there is time, he will cast bless on the group the next round. Whenever he sees obvious danger, he will activate his protection aura to shield his brothers (+1 AC, 5 resistance to all elements in a 30' radius)and cast Prayer
One last question : would you rule that the holy lance power from the good domain applies to natural weapons ?

Is hatching (coming out of egg) a free or a move action? Do we get to choose which form (dragons vs. humanoid) we come out as?
Zarrosh bursts out of his egg, sending sundered pieces of egg shells across the room. Seeing a hill giant right next to his brother's unprotected egg, he screams a challenge and rushes it, channeling his rage to increase his strength. As he closes, he wraps his arms around the giant's fat belly, attempting to bring the monster off balance.
Grapple: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (12) + 22 = 34
"Wake up brother!" Zarrosh shouted, "Wake up and fight for your family!"
I would only be able to move and grapple if I emerged as human.
Herensuge |
round 1
oni 22
Ungorralin, 21
Gharzarana 20
Sherren 18
Zarroshduvar, 14
Herensuge, 13
Aurion 13hill giants 9
the oni drinks a potion and goes 30ft into the air
the pc's can act in any order and then the hill giants act
Seeing the enemies all around him, Herensuge takes flight to D14, and casts Prayer. Every one of us is at +1 attack, damage, skill checks and saves. Every ennemy is at -1 for the next 8 rounds in a 40' radius around him.
Gharzarana |
Gharzarana works furiously on his shell but he wasn't build to break things down. He can hear muffled sound of what he think is fighting outside his egg. At last he manages to claw his way through and stretches his wings with a roar.
He immediately takes in the scene and takes to the air. He moves over Zarrosh where he says a fast string of words in draconic.
Move to D14 and Cast haste.
Raven34 |
The hill giant seems unaffected by the slow breath
All pc’s are hasted and have prayer on them
The hill giant near Aurion is about to smash his club down but is instead grappled by Zarrosh
Aurion breaks out of his shell he sees his brother grappling a large giant
Aurion moves at incredible speed thanks to the haste and begins to glow with a holy righteous light
Thanks to the haste he gets four attacks at the giant going for a bite bite claw claw combo
Aurion does 78 points of damage
He smiles at his brother and says “ thanks for holding him still for me!”
(None of you have frightful presence yet and you can start in any form)
H1 manages to break his grapple
H2 moves and attacks Aurion for 20 damage
H3 throws a rock at gharz but misses
H4 attacks Aurion and crits for 42 damage
Herensuge |
Round 2
Oni attacks ungorr for 31 damagePc’s are up
Aurion does a lay on hands as a swift action and heals himself up a bit
he full attacks H1 using his smite and rips him to shreds (h1 is dead)
As two of his friends took heavy hits from the giants, Herensuge concentrates and a cold wind sweeps the room, closing wounds and repairing broken skin.
Channels healing energy excluding the giants and Oni for 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6, 5) = 16
Ungorralin |
Move to E15 (this provokes AoO from the Oni, AC is 24)
Attack the grappled giant:
Claw #1 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 9 + 2 = 15, Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 + sneak attack 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 3) = 16
Claw #2 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 2 = 22, Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 + sneak attack 4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 6) = 14
Bite 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 = 17, Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 + sneak attack 4d6 ⇒ (4, 2, 2, 4) = 12

Move to E15 (this provokes AoO from the Oni, AC is 24)
Attack the grappled giant:
Claw #1 1d20+9+2, Damage 1d4+1 + sneak attack 4d6
Claw #2 1d20+9+2, Damage 1d4+1 + sneak attack 4d6
Bite 1d20+9+2, Damage 1d6+1 + sneak attack 4d6
ungorr if you move more than 5ft you will only get one attack, do you want to reconsider your action?
Raven34 |
Raven34 wrote:ungorr if you move more than 5ft you will only get one attack, do you want to reconsider your action? No I will still move, just take the first attack roll for claw #1 then
ok, and this time i will allow the sneak attack damage (normally you have to be flanking or the person you are attacking must have lost their entire dex bonus to ac)
and you take 31 points form the AOO
Raven34 |
H2 damages Zarrosh for 13 points
H3 attacks ungorr and misses
H4 attack Aurion and misses one and hits once for 21 damage
Round 3 the oni 5ft steps and attacks Aurion his first blow takes aurion down to negatives
so the oni does his other three attacks on Zarrosh
the first one is a crit for 61 damage!
The second one misses!
The third one hits for 32
pcs are up
(ooc a house rule i will use to stop barbarians dying too easily is that the rage does not end when you go to negative hp (unless you are dead) instead your rage carries on as you writhe and froth on the ground)

Wow, it's not everyday you wake up to find your character just took 106 points of dmg in 1 round.
Hearing a shout of anguish from Aurion, Zarrosh's anger consumes him as he bites down on the hill giant.
Animal Fury: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 271d4 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Maintain Grapple: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (7) + 27 = 34 +2 if the bite penetrates (I mean hit, but adding some flavor :) )
Zarrosh chooses to pin his opponent if his successfully maintains grapple. Now he is flat-footed. GET HIM!
Activating Guarded Stance: +2 Dodge bonus to AC Greater Grapple turns maintaining grapple to a move action, thus allowing Zarrosh to activate Guarded Stance as his 2nd move action.
Zarrosh is in dire straights. He is currently at 19/125. One more hit and it's over.
Raven, thanks for the house rule. Let's hope Zarrosh survives pass this encounter. If both the dragon and the drow games end up TPK, promise me you'll start two new games!

The devastating blows of the giants shake the room and in an effort to delay the end, a second cold wind sweeps the room, closing wounds and repairing broken skin.
Channels healing energy excluding the giants and Oni for 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 3) = 17
Herensuge then takes a step back to C13.
"Gharanzhara, the giants are strong but weak willed, can you confuse them ? Sherrenasaerenalia, hurry, we need your help!",he says in a desperate voice.
He is at ground level, not flying.
